Fix it! It makes sense to fix such a nice affordable car. I know it will be lots of work but you can make it happen and get great profit too! It would be awful to see thids going scrap because not many people can fix it well really
Do it Dean. Will make brilliant content mate. Done to your standard, it's closer to 5. Will be a few episodes. Hope all is going well with the competition site...??
You should keep it. Because this is the type of car the majority of your subscribers can afford if we were to do something and seeing someone like yourself fix it will give us the inspiration to do where most would give up and move it on
I don't think the majority of his subscribers would have the knowledge to take on a project like this,it's a huge amount of work! plus you will need to have the use or own a ramp
@@dazspurs9899 I would say that a ramp is a good and convenient tool to have if you’re a garage, but for the home mechanic diy all you need is some axle stands and the drive up ramps, plus a lot more patients, a good thick piece of cardboard to lay on upside down, and more use of foul language 😂
Had mk2 fr remapped to 260. Good fun car. No where near as much character as the mk1 cupra i had though. Loved the 1.8 20v t. Would buy it back tomorrow if i could
Dean, PMSL @ those sunglasses. I was just thinking are they his wifes...they must be they look kinda female. And then you said they were. Love your videos mate, keep em coming.
Nice car after the all the work that must be done, i would keep this car and fixing it and sell it for a nice price ! And the sunglasses were looking absolute great on you !!!
Dean this would be great content and a lot of people would enjoy this type of content it shows that cars can be repaired and used rather than thrown in scrap pile good luck in your new venture. John
Rear boot lid handle - worth mentioning Phil at Serious About Salvage had problems with one of these - there was a slight variation in badge / handle size.
Hi Dean! The antenna is not broken, it is a second position. You only have to unscrewed it with your hands and put it back in the good position. Cheers from Spain :)
4.5k for that all in.... that's well worth the money, cupras are going up in price now, especially the mk1 and mk2, so it's definitely worth fixing and keeping.
Would love to see this getting fixed. Seen too many supercar rebuilds and I those I'll most likely never own so not as interesting. Great video regardless!
I think the front would look the same as the back of it wasn’t for the oil leaks, if the wings got sprayed in oil as well they’d be fine 😂 fix her up & auction off Dean, I’d be in for a ticket or two 😉 it will make ok content too 👍🏻 too many super car fixers on the tube at the moment, show average people what can be done on average cars for sensible money.
Yes bro Back with a Cupra on The Channel You Should Definitely Keep it Because This is A Car That Most of your Subcribers & Followers can Afford Especially with how good nick the Car actually is in Minus the Rub on the Subframe and Various other Places but if its been Stage 1 Remapped your probably looking at around maybe 365bhp but with it just have Forge bits possibly exhaust H Ramair induction Kit I'd say it might be around the 300+bhp Great Video As Always bro ❤😊
Keep and fix. Mk2 are my favourite and I’ve had 2. Lots of fun. Won’t be worth 4k maybe 3500 tops as it’s not a k1 but the seats are worth what you paid and the brakes are the big bois keep and finish
The seats are £350 from breakers all day. The engine is worth more than he paid for the car though. I'd say his value is correct aswell around 4500 when done. I paid 5500 for mine but mine has lower miles
@@jaycourtuk I’ve seen a k1 with history in good condition forsale for months and even with 2 price drops still not sold for 4500. The tax is putting ppl off as that’s just going to keep going up and up. No service history hurts a cars price more and more these days. I’d love a pfl Cupra but most have had a hard life and got driveway maps on them.
A guy at work has one of these on finance from stoneacre..Nice car but developed a gear box fault.. Currently he's negotiating with them as he has a service warranty but they want over £4k from him to replace it..All together it's £6500 to replace 😮.. I told him to look at spares -scrapage yards but he says it voids the warranty if he goes elsewhere.... Sounds Abit fishy..I said your other option is to wrap it round a 🌲 or accidentally Molotov it 😅😅.. Stoneacre have already had his pants down via the finance, He'll end up paying over £15k for a £8k motor,
Can anybody please answer this question? Why is it a 2008 car can have so much RUST. Its a modern car with a the bells and whistles, how come pockets of rust appeared.. Thank you 👍🙏💥
Didnt see any paint cost for wings, bumpers/ tailgate... Got to be another 500+ on top of your estimate?looks like a kid owned it, all nice looking engine bay but no maintenance( shocks, oil leaks, rust) can't decide whether it would be worth your time/money.....
Is that amount of rust really to be expected?! I see lots of cars of similar vintage with zero visible rust, including my own Honda. And no, I'm not from California (rather from Sweden).
Get rid dean. Too much to pay out n do. I wouldnt pay 4k for an 08 plate even with all that done. Be thinking whats next to rust or fail. My view only. Great vid tho.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Dean. That's not a bad car. A small bit of rust on the wings. Those Seat Cupras are supposed to be Fast. Your Way too Cool for those Sunglasses lol 😊😊. That yellow is growing on me. Sorry Dean lol. Chat soon
Let me buy it! I love teaching myself how to work on my own car and I think I could potentially do almost all of the jobs on this list and get some experience to maybe start buying copart
It's a long time since I heard a mechanic call a damper by its proper name instead of the much misused "shock absorber" which is actually the spring 👍👍
This looks to be a fairly good car on first impressions Dean, I would like to vote for you to repair it, as it will make great content for the channel😊
fix it. The different colours of the bumpers are common on all cars. There's something about painting plastic that makes the colour come out slightly different. I've seen it on new cars in the showroom.
Get rid of the locking wheel nuts, who actually steals alloys these days and a right PITA if a tyre centre breaks one trying to remove it with a Torque Gun.
Not worth repairing for me,considering the amount of time you would have to put into it I would pull the engine/gearbox/interior out and scrap the rest, you would easily treble your money, put your time into your other projects
