I just picked up my 2024 A-SPEC yesterday. My daily is a 2003 CL Type S 6MT that I purchased in September of 2022. It now has over 255,000 miles on it. And yes, I have the same problem with my clear coat and also, "Honda Rot" in the right rear fender (only) on the 2003. Michigan car.
Yeah I got a plan for that rust in the rear right side fender. As for the clear coat I’m thinking wrap the whole car. But at the same time I don’t want to dump too much money in cosmetics. We’ll see though Congrats on the new TLX! You’re going to love that 2024 A-Spec that digital gauge cluster is sweet! 🔥🔥
@@MarcoTLX To be honest, wanted the analog gauge cluster. I like gauges. And that subdued silvery background with red print is "hot." But, I have to admit, I like the all digital cluster too. I've begun to come accustomed to it when I had a 2024 as a loaner. I'm not crazy about the color that I purchased either. My 1st choice was a tie between the silver with red & black interior and the white one with the same; then , the silver with black interior. Well, the dealer had a white one with the red & black interior but I may have waited a tad too long to act on it. "Tiger Eyed Pearl" was high the list if I were able to get the Type S. (I initially saw the white one in the showroom on a day they were closed. The next time I saw it, it was outside. It was the only one on the lot both times. I inquired about it on line at that same dealership, and it was stated that vehicle was "in transit." But then, they received an "Urban Gray" A-SPEC with the black interior. Didn't know if I could live with the interior or exterior LONG term but decided to give it a chance... Reason? The dealerships around here are not putting them on the lots. AND YOU NEVER SEE a Type-S. I mean NEVER! Also, it's getting close to the 2025 model year. The finger track pad that controls the entertainment screen is being removed. As much as I don't like it, I know how to operate it because of familiarization with them with loaner vehicles. I'd much rather have the touch pad then a touch screen that always has fingerprints on it! Yuck! Slim pickens for this car and the MDX is a little too expensive for me. My question is: why is the TLX so rare on dealer lots? Do You HAVE TO ORDER IT?
@@virgilwyatt4632 it’s not that it’s rare it’s that Acura re-tooled their assembly lines to produce the new ZDX so cars that weren’t selling well were slowed down to a halt on their production thus why you can’t find many 2024s and people who can’t wait are buying up 2023 models. I’m still one of very few that has a Red TLX-S in my area
@@MarcoTLX Thanks. That makes sense. I feel much better about my purchase. And I know people are always comparing how slow Your TLX is vs. a comparable Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. More power to them. (I really don't trust Audi for longevity like I once did. Love S-4's but don't trust their workmanship. And yes, I know Acura's build quality is questioned more now than ever.) Personally, I don't race. I recognize my TLX is slower to get to 80 (a good highway cruise speed for me) but once both cars get there, 80 mph is 80 mph. Your TLX And the longevity of Your powertrain and the overall vehicle will be better. So if anyone wants to challenge You to a duel, refuse. Preserve that beauty and just enjoy the experience of driving.
I first saw you on your reddit post and now found you here! But I would recommend for you to try a FM transmiter or a cassette adapter for either aux or bluetooth. Hope this helps!
Funny cuz I bought a 23 Type S back in January of this year. The very exact same setup as yours. It has just under 900 miles on it due to the fact that I have a 05 TSX. It’s my daily and the Type S is rarely used or for the weekend.
Well being that’s it’s my second one since my first one got stolen, I’ve enjoyed it more than my previous. I text drove an M340i and it’s def a better car but luckily, not much much. And I also couldn’t justify paying at least 9k monthly payment. That said, this is a phenomenal car all around. Is it the best in its class? No. Does it look the best in its class, imo; absolutely. For both looks and performance, it’s def a great package.

@@MarcoTLX I figured the tlx is 40-50k range that’s why I said m340. I would get a g80 m3 comp x drive. Mines is a rocket and its stock. I can only imagine with full bolt ons and a jb4. Doing all that next month can’t wait.
@@kelvinmejia8384 yeah but if I’m gonna trade the S I’m going full M it only makes sense. I drove the M340i before its quick but for my personal tastes I need the full M model
@@MarcoTLX if you can swing it fuck it. You live once and they hold their value. Drove mines 15k miles and it’s still worth the same as when I bought it 2 years ago.
Congrats on the new daily, shoulda went with G80 comp for weekend. The BMW M owner pretty chills, some are former Acura owners. If you looking to get some track time, they are the most active community brand. Only after Porsche club. Head up on the accord, the V6 notorious having bad trans from factory. I would service the trans right away (drain and fill only) DO NOT flush.
I believe it was either the 2nd or 3rd gear that was bad. You’re cruising along at freeway speed and suddenly the transmission jumps from 5th to 1st gear at 80 mph. Instantly bad mechanical damage and possible situations of bodily harm up to and including death because of sudden, rapid deceleration of which could cause the driver to crash. When Acura recalled their TL automatics they extended the standard power train warranty on each vehicle. The 6 speed manual transmission in the 2003 CL Type S was not part of the recall campaign… My transmission is still going strong.
