Good choice of motorbike, i treated myself to a new cbr650r last year in red and i absolutely love it 😊 It's a fantastic bike and for just over 8 grand it's good value for money and it'll be very reliable. Happy riding stay safe.
Good to see you back man. Look forward to the bike content even though I'm a car guy. Just be safe when you ride that thing, they're quick as Fuk. Take it easy dude ✌🏼
I bought this as my very first bike (the unrestricted version). Never ever ridden a bike before, not even a 50cc scooter. But honestly? This bike is so tamed that I am not struggling at all with it. Of course I take the corners slower than the liter boyz, but an inline4 screamer sport bike was my dream since childhood
Just went to honda to size up the cbr650r is definately going to be my first big bike too . Got my mod1+2 next month. I asked honda about the sport pack and tail tidy and if buying new from them they fit for free will save me a job. But good content for you tho 👍
Lovely bike mate, i'm looking to pass by August via direct access and this is at the top of my list for the first bike however looking at insurance costs i'm getting quoted outrageous and nothing close to your £6-700 a year mark. I know you've put your old man on the insurance but i'm getting quoted nearly £2k a year, i'm 32 and had my car license for 10 years so I find this a bit crazy. Would you have any tips or know where i'm going wrong pal?
I spoke to a tuner about this bike because I have just bought a CB650R and he said that the akrapovic is pointless. Even with a tune it only makes 1hp more than the stock exhaust and he has had some customers state that the bike feels more sluggish with the aftermarket exhaust even with a tune and decided to go back to the stock can. They do sound damn good with an exhaust on them though.
Just bought the exact same bike, Same Colour, but mine is a 2020. I also bought it from the same shop as well, although the shop I bought mine from was the Cheshire store. and found it on Autotrader hahaha. I'm still awaiting delivery for mine, which I managed to negotiate down to £120.00. Can't wait.
@@AutoBay It's an incredible bike and a totally different experience. It's an absolute weapon but you just can't use it on our UK roads. It'll do the best part of nearly 100 MPH in 1st gear because it's so long geared that you lose a lot of the riding factor. Having said all that, I don't regret buying it one bit ;-) Trust me, the 650R is a wonderful bike and loads of fun. Enjoy it and ride safe.
Do you take it in the track at all mate? That must feel ridiculous 😝 I bet the 650r would feel so underpowered now after riding the cbr1000! Honestly so happy with the 650 so far!
@@AutoBay Funnily enough I rode a friend’s 650R only the other day first the first time since I sold my 650R after having the blade now for a few months. The riding position was immediately noticeable and the power was obviously way down. It’s still a lovely bike and is the best of both worlds in that it looks stunning and is relatively comfortable in comparison.
Im looking at purchasing a bike and i have found myself inbeetween the r7 and the cbr650r i want a supersport not a naked and for like 10k you got any other options except those too? I mean i thoight of the zx6r but that bike is pushing up to 15k€
@@AutoBay well the zx6r is quite more expensive which is why its stopping me from getting one, but if it was in range of like 10-12k i would consider getting it. I like the cbr because of the performance but the r7 just looks beuautiful and im not really looking st the top speed, thank you for the advice i will see what i can get myself 😁
Usually down to location and occupation mate 👌🏼 my 400BHP Audi RS3 costs £470 a year which is stupidly cheap, even a 650cc bike is more expensive which makes no sense to me 🤣 I recommend having a play around with your policy, change a few bits and see what betters your price without lying obviously.
I had this decision to make aswel mate, I thought getting a restricted 650 made much more sense: -when you pass your A licence you’ll derestrict it and have twice the power (whereas if you buy a 500 you’ll want to buy a bigger bike) -you’ll be used to riding a bigger bike when your direct access test comes around. - and finally the 650r simply looks, performs and sounds way better 😉
@@thegamingalex3947 feels weaker after 7/8K RPM. But still plenty of low down torque. 0-60 is 5 seconds with restriction. I’ve had 115mph top speed with throttle restriction fitted and I weigh 100kg. (on a private road of course).
@@AutoBay haha gotta add the private road part. does it let you rev to the full amount or cap you out earlier on? That is interesting to know though thanks, you thought of fobbing it off and just taking the chance and removing it or gonna stay a good honest man? haha
