I Bought a KISS Guitar! (Ace Frehley Les Paul) 

Hey Glen, I did the same thing about 10 years ago. I ordered mine with an ebony fret board. I replaced everything too, including the truss rod cover. Got it fret dressed and set up. Plays really good, holds tune & intonates properly. I love it and like you did it for me and me only. I've done the same with a Paul Stanley cracked mirror Iceman and use that regularly in my band. Rock On mate.

I totally understand why you would want this guitar and why you made all of the upgrades. I relate. I paid an american luthier (i'm Canadian) almost 5000 dollars to build me an exact copy of Johnny Ramone's, Mosrite Mark 2, slab body....exactly, except that mine is lefthanded. The shop he works for used to be a Mosrite dealer when Semie's daughter took over the company...so they had blueprints and real examples of the actual guitar model to base my guitar off of. So I figured going with them to build my guitar was my best bet. So I totally understand you desire to have an Ace guitar. My guitar turned out wonderfully.. although, I did change the single coil in the bridge to a humbucker after about 1 month of trying to fall in love with the single coil (when I ordered the guitar, I had 2 pickguards made..so that I wouldn't have to hack up the original one). I am glad that you dig your guitar too, captiain!

Awsome video man cool that you made the guitar a replica of what ace would have played when i worked at this record store / music shop we sold gibsons that looked like the ones ace played and at the time i was a teen and for it was the coolest thing to see a kiss guitar and we actually got a kiss guitar a paul stanley guitar one that he played from 2003 and 2004 it was his Silvertone Apocalypse guitar it was really cool to it in person have a great weekend my man and take care

I've a couple Chibson Les Paul copies I purchased back in 2018, ordered through a builder on Ali Express I was able to completely spec out the guitar how I wanted it built. All in all, with a little elbow grease and some new parts they are pretty nice guitars. I'd say a little bit better quality than an Epiphone of the same time/era. More importantly, I was able to order the guitars with a lacquer finish (I just don't get along well with the poly finishes). Cool guitar, thanks for sharing.

That is awesome! As a drummer myself and of course a KISS fan there's always that desire to have an actual instrument from the band. It's great that so many of them have signature models you can purchase in music stores. But as you know there is sometimes a sizable price tag that makes it hard to do so at times. I was lucky enough to buy Eric Singer's 2002 Pearl Drums Signature Series Snare drum when it first came out. At the time he was with Alic Cooper, so the "KISS Price" LOL was not there. I also know he's not an original member so that made it a little more affordable at the time. But now that drum is crazy ridiculous in price. What you did is awesome! You found another way to get the guitar that you wanted. You took it a step farther and swapped out part to get it as close as you could! That is next level thinking... well maybe not for us musicians, as we are always trying to improve our sound. But I don't know if I would have thought of that in this case. You actually inspired me to do the same thing. I don't have the money to get one of Eric's official End Of The Road snares.... but I know I can get a cheap shell and outsource parts and get close to Billy Baker's work as he did for Eric. I just want to have it sitting on my shelf and not ever really play it but have the wall piece as you say to look at and be proud of. I ordered the blue metallic sunburst and just got it today. Mainly as wall art but actually sounded decent right out of the box. Loved your video but how in the hell did you get Bruce and Tommy to intro you? I'm impressed!

Chibson's are nothing but wall hangers.I watch people say that it's just as good as Gibson.Then they play, and they're a beginner. I saw someone get beaten by a Chibson for trying to sell it as Gibson.Broke the guitar on him.Come to find out,he bought it as a Gibson,and didn't know it was fake.😢

U could raise the bridge up a bit an it would stop the buzz a little bit more .

None of those fakes are playable out of the box, but the phony boney and the 1956 LP replica both from Muzoland with my own work I got them to sing. My fake Ace one I have done a lot of work on it but it still sucks with the fret buzz I figure maybe a fret leveling could be the cure, but you are saying it's the bridge aint located on the body right so that's buzz problem. Now I wish I would of kept my Epi Ace Custom.

Sorry,...but I bought the Budokan Les Paul replica ( same guitar with block inlay's, no Ace pic on the headstock ),...I have it playing and sounding fantastic,.....ONLY EVER PURC BUY FROM RETURNS ACCEPTED,.....that way if you get one of the few bad playing ones, you can return it,.....I buffed the finish off the back of the neck, put 3 covered Guitar Madness pickups in mine,...along with a graphtech nut, 3three 500k Mojo volume knobs and an All Parts, 3 way, switch....$250 guitar with $ 110 parts,....the guitar sounds better than my real Les Paul,...and with 3 pickups,. ( although I rarely have the middle pickup volume up) ,.....more versatile.

Gibson les Paul’s sound good if set up properly but they are made terribly I could never understand why anyone would pay over 1000$ for a Les Paul and the epiphones are junk but they look real cool haha it comes down to what style is your favourite I guess

I think it looks and sounds great , real gibsons arent perfect either ask fulton street beats ..his chibson angus young sg had better inlay work than the real one he has lol
