I know this is a late response but, I once rear-ended a pickup with a dump truck. Cost the business insurance 40k. Thought I was going to get fired. My boss said, that's why you need to pay attention and you need to go get your CDL. Awesome boss and mentor. He rolled right through that challenge like you. Thanks for always sharing stuff like this.
For the very very few intelligent young men these days whom have the strength, motivation and desire to be a entrepreneur I salute you. But Mr. Gertz deserves a much larger sub base. He so willingly shares tons of info that someone like myself can learn. And.. I'm retired. But love to learn
Our enclosed trailer jack hung down low from the factory. It snagged some rail road tracks and pretty much did the same thing. Luckily it was a hand crank jack and only a few hundred to replace. I ended up modifying the mount and installed a new drop leg jack so that the bottom of the foot was flush with the trailer frame when fully lifted.
Had a coworker leave landing gear 3/4 down. Underclearance issue at a railroad crossing. Ripped out the floor of a 53 foot trailer loaded..... Trailer totaled. Driver fired.
Your channel is way underrate. I’m in California near LAX. I am currently a supervisor and do yard clean up with some construction experience willing to work hard & learn
You could probably have them retro-fit the jack with a hinge and shear pin system that would just fold back if that happens again. You'd have to move the toolbox tho.
No trailer stories but i did impale the back passanger door of a G-wagon the other day with the ladders on the back of my truck.. he snuck behind me as i was backing out.. funny thing is im 100% sure he was either illegal or on the run because he said "no need to get cops involved no harm no foul" all while there is 2 gaping holes on the side of his $80k car. I guess i lucked out
Has Bewise ever addressed the issue with a stonger hydraulic for dirt and rocks , since your video ... or is it just your trailer having a issue with dirt and rocks?
I had my buddy sub contract some grading work for me, the driveway of the rental place that I use is steep. He did the same thing and didn’t put his jack up all the way and he had the skid too far forward and messed the whole front end of his trailer up. It wasn’t a fun day for him
Damn, I’m sorry. We had a few guys over the years that have that have damaged the jacks. Never to the expense you had to shell out. Anyway, thank you for sharing with US. 😂 sorry not sorry had to.
It's nice you've got a decent size business to take the hit too. It would destroy someone starting out that just leveraged himself on this trailer to earn more money in the coming year.
I have the same trailer, they always do that. once they see it hook up they forget to rise the jack all they way up.. I had my guys drop the door 4 times too :( lol had to get our mini skid to rise it up again
I can’t wait to see what your next excavator will be you going back to Caterpillar . Add a sticker to the front of that trailer saying lift jack all the way up .
Had an inexperienced employee take a brand new I think 26ft enclosed trailer through a McDonald's drive through! I got the call when the trailer was wedged between the curbs on the turn to the first window with a bunch of pissed off customers behind him . Instead of just getting out and getting lunch? Smh. 😑
My heart hurt too for you Ouch haha $40 an hour sounds good mama mia, Ill moved to Cali ;) but I did only worked less than a year in landscaping to obtain experience I searched on RU-vid and started watching your video
Don't feel bad, I have the same trailer and my guys let the ramp fall off last Friday. I wanted to kill them. I stayed calm, sent them away. Called a Hydraulic Mechanic and he walked me through disconnecting it and getting it back on. I will never let them operate my trailer again. Those guys don't appreciate good equipment.
Diamond c trailers ftw nothing but the best built in texas. The hydraulic Jack is in front of the storage chest is where hydraulic pump and controller box is. In this case they would have seen the jack dropped down and it all could have been avoided. With this trailer the hydraulic Jack is behind storage chest so it’s hidden and you can’t see when the jack is down or up.
Make it mandatory that they use a 6 x 6 ,1 foot long under the Jack leg every time it gives you 6 inches of insurance and it makes him bend over and look to see if it’s up all the way and paint a red arrow on the side of the jackstand and also paint the ball hitch connection red
Everytime I ever loaned my 16ft trailer out it got damaged. Ripped off lights trashed fenders. The very last time it was the plate was missing I said no more.
i bought a kubota track carrier kc70 last spring and i shit you not 1 minutes after i dropped it off to a new foreman's jobsite he flipped it upside down trying to go up the curb forward
Allow me to inject some mike andes here, "you got to have systems in place". Make a "large font" checklist, laminate and glue it to the front of the trailer. One list for hooking and unhooking, another for dumping. I don't care how much in a hurry you are- if you don't follow the checklist it's your last day here. The future is uncertain and death is always near. Heed.
I've dragged it a few times like that. Mine is manual though so nothing was bent nor would damage be that bad. I have fucked it totally multiple times with an excavator banging into it. My doors are fucked. My sides are a bit fucked. The front is also fucked as well as the cover rig. It's the worst looking dump trailer in my city. You'd think I'd have learned by now but nope. I don't know what it is...
He wants to continue expanding his business to more and more areas, he probably loses money on the giveaways but as far as content for his channel and to spread his GOAT Gang project around he is likely gaining in the long run. As far as I can tell he lost like $30k on the cat giveaway and $20k on the truck giveaway, but the brand probably gained $50k worth of mindshare in the long run. Also he can write it off as a business expense, so rather than pay the tax man he uses the equipment to build his brand and help a lucky member of GOAT Gang out.
Wow I’ve seen this done three times and that trailer is poorly made or something because the three times I’ve seen it done it didn’t bend the frame like that. That sucks
Tigren I tried to warn you in your first ultimate dump trailer video. But you just erased my comment brother don't erase comments brother even if you think they are negative. Good job growing on the new purchase
It will cost you 10,000 dollars when you get caught hauling that with no class A drivers license . Trailers over 10k gvw require one . Shit like that won't happen if you had properly trained and Licensed guys
Its not the weight of the trailer either. Its a combination weight. 26000 pounds. A normal skidsteer weighs like 7000 or 8000lbs and a 2000 lb trailer. So hauling a skidsteer on a trailer your at like 10000 pounds. You definitely dont need a class A to haul a skidsteer. 26000 pounds buddy
My high-school friend wrecked a few cars prior to his 21st birthday. On his 21st birthday his father took him to a BMW dealership and co-signed for a new BMW for him, his father also bought himself a brand new beamer. His son left the dealership while he finished the paperwork. Later that same day, my idiot friend ran a red light and T-Boned his father's BMW at the intersection by their house. The same day the father bought both cars. Hours after purchase. Unfortunately not long enough to get either car insured. My friend was forced to take the bus until he could buy his own car.
@Tigran Gertz just goes to show, there's always someone else who did something worse than you. I had another friend who made a vouch one time that if he was pulled over again by the police that he would make a run for it, and so he did. But you can't out run a radio, he ended up with his jaw wired shut for a year along with a years worth of eating through a straw. Be safe T, don't let the idiots drive you crazy.
