We ordered thissince we are planning to get a dog and we've watched dog lover on tv many times. The book ru-vid.comUgkxGQVgV21bQ7B9b9duQ1ByImyT9xHbjOKq is a simple read and easy to understand. I like that it gives examples. We haven't put it into practice yet, so that will be the true test.
That is a nice specimen of the breed he has a great top line ! Not an over roach Your going to get some way nice pups from the girls with him i think so 😍 🥰
AMEN! “You breed the dog not the training!” Dude, why do you have to be up in Canada? Lol. From everything I’ve seen from you so far, you have my same exact philosophies. I’m impressed, keep up the good work! Nice dog btw.
Glad that temperament matters….as I believe it matters a lot! A well trained protection dog is awesome but if they’re not stable and can’t be trusted to not turn psycho, what’s the point! Great looking dog, excited to see his training!
I used pepper in a breeding and the pups turned out really nice! It’s cool to see him throw his genetics into his offspring. Chico has the trademark face and feet of pepper. Pepper also throws really full calm grips I look forward to seeing protection videos in the future. Congrats and a nice dog!
"PEPPER" is in my area,he's produced some very nice dogs...he has a "brother" here also(same parents, different breeding)"RAMOS VOM KAP KARTHAGO"...both are excellent dogs, good luck sir!
Chico is a good looking dog. I am not super educated on German shepherds or protection breeds in general. I'm a labrador person haha. But I was talking to someone about German shepherd genetics and they were saying how some German shepherds are really badly bred I've also seen some videos that have mentioned the same. I've also heard that the working lines and show lines are vastly different. I've always really appreciated German shepherds and have enjoyed the ones I've been around for the most part and it's great that your so selective about who you'll breed and why. I enjoy being able to see these really nice dogs on your channel. I wish people were more responsible when it comes to breeding in this country. German shepherds are such a great breed one of my favorites.
Dogs bred in Europe tend to have better genetics and more traditional features. I know more about Rotts than GSD. A Rott in many areas of Europe cannot be bred unless the Breed Club approves it. They review everything from temperament to physical characteristics to genetics. And they also require basic testing such as a BST and IGPI. In the US, you have RDNK which adheres to basic European standards except for breeding approval. If you get into AKC/CKC there are “recommended” breeding guidelines such as hips/eyes/elbows/ heart etc. but no approval or minimal titles. Do your research. Actually meet the breeders and dogs. Go to trials and see how they do. And ask around. Good luck!
He's a really good looking dog, & i'm sure you have done all the needed research in terms of genetics & health.. Hopefully he will provide you with a good foundational basis for your programme & as you know what your doing i look forward to watching your progress together..
Nice looking dog. Just one question - you always said about many dogs "they are good, but I personally need a more over the top dog/a more crazy dog". Chico does from that video not look like that. On the other hand, you did say that his ball drive is so high that it isn't even under control yet. I just wondered, because he seems so different to Gage and not like "your type of dog". Though admittedly, as an internet stranger I do not really know what your type of dog is, nor what kind of dog Chico will be!
He looks like a sturdier version of some of the dogs in the pedigree lines Stephanitz used, you know, the “non show line looking” ones. My boy is a more show line, 23 weeks, it’s so interesting to see how the structure is different, his parents were both A hips and elbows, I’m hoping he never gets any of those issues. I can’t believe how fast they grow, mine has spit out three teeth in two days, seems like they act like puppies for so much longer than they physically look like a puppy..I have so much work ahead of me..he won’t let me look in his mouth like yours does, he’s not horrible about it, just avoids, and hates, hates a slicker brush..from the second I got him at 8 weeks, he wanted to eat that brush..lol..and when I take him to the training facility, it’s like he’s so freaked and interested by the smells he acts like we haven’t trained every single meal he’s ever had..we are two lessons in on scent introduction too..good luck with Chico..guess that makes you..”The Man”??
Hey there, eventually I wanna do the ecollar training with my presa. I've been going through the videos that Haz posted. He has never mentioned the sound button on the ecollar. Is it even useful? Same with the vibration button most of the ecollars have. Can someone clarify it for me briefly, please?
They are nice dogs but they are not as widely used for police or protection but if you get the right one you certainly can use them. The reason why malinois, Dutch shepherds, working line German shepherds, and x herders which are basically crosses of all three and then sometimes off breeds are widely used is because there are just more of them being bred for that purpose. You can find a nice beauceron for work, but there just aren't the numbers. Most are show lines
