No, because I have heard horror stories of after market screens, and that’s kind of the whole selling point of an iPhone. I would buy refurbished from Apple, or even used and then replace the battery through Apple. But I don’t trust the “refurbished” from Amazon or EBay sellers.
If I only had $300 dollars to spend on an iPhone I would. When buying a used car you expect some minor flaws due to usage. The 90-day guarantee protects you from a bad phone. Just my opinion.
That is a great deal for a used phone with NO display cracks or scratches and 99% battery health! The blemishes on the casing are secondary issues. Put a case on it and you’ve got a great phone for a great price!
I wanted a 13 mini. Why? I don't know, I just did. I looked around and wound up ordering one from Ebay Refurbished for $499. It said "Excellent Condition" and I took a chance. I wanted Midnight but they only had green left. It arrived and already had a screen protector on it. I powered it up and updated it and went through the set up. The thing looks new and still has 100% battery health! Pretty happy with it.
@@Messup7654I actually sold my Iphone pro max 13 and got me a 12 Mini. The size is perfect compared to the bulky pro max. I honestly cant tell any difference besides handleability
I've gotten several refurbished phones directly from Apple and they are as good as new. New outer shell, new screen, completely refurbished inner workings, a brand new battery and it comes with the Apple warranty and at quite a savings. It is impossible to tell it's not brand new. Nothing but great experience for me!
The only Amazon renewed phone I bought was an SE-2. It came with 93% battery health and one scratch on the screen. It was a little disappointing but the phone worked well. I kept it for a little over a year and traded it for a new 13 Mini. I feel it was worth the cost for what it was.
I have bought multiple “renewed” iPhones from Amazon and they have been AMAZING! I just bought a 12 also, in white and looks absolutely “new” and has 100% battery! All for $297
personally i’ve had the same problem with amazon refurbished for a while. they always replace the display but they DONT PUT A WATER TIGHT SEAL BACK ON. every phone i’ve gotten from amazon refurbished had absolutely no water resistance. like, you could splash some water on the side of it and it would disable face ID. i guess you get what you pay for
This is my main concern with these Renewed/Refurbished iPhones. I hear the 3rd party displays can be really junky. Some companies are up front about the phones having an aftermarket replacement screen, but very few seem to tout their phones as having original OEM screens.
Not always but yes most of the time the phone is not anymore waterproof , sometimes are just used phone selled like new , its like if you are luky or not , by the way get always a grade A+ or like new !
Cmon dude, complaining about the minor scratch on the top or the slight screen blemish on the right? For $300, you got a great deal. You are paying half the price and got 99 percent battery health (which to me is far more important than the minor cosmetic issues). Why anyone would return one in that condition when a case would fix it is beyond me. For a two year old almost 3 year old phone you have to be realistic buying it refurbished. Unless it had some major performance issue or functionality issue, you'd be crazy not to keep it.
Looked 2 of these Amazon renewed videos. Other one was a "premium". Had a big dent in the corner. Now this one has a dent too. Amazon ought to provide photos for each phone.
I have just bought a refurbished iPhone 12 mini from Amazon. It is in perfect condition but the battery life is at 82 percent. Like the phone though so I will just get a battery case, and use it until it says battery needs replaced. I will have it replaced at an Apple Store, should be under a hundred dollars.
I got Samsung S21 Ultra refurbished excellent condition. It indeed came in perfect condition with no scratches. But after 6-7 months I realized that a screen was replaced because glue was not properly spread out as it was on other S21 Ultra phones. So phones from Amazon might come in perfect condition but you never know what happened before.
Hey Greg! Entertaining as always. That plug-in "explosion" was well crafted. I thinks a lot of users will be fine with that phone, given the price and performance. And I think most people will throw a case on it just to protect the screen.
I'm curious as to what makes these renewed or refurbished. These phones from Amazon just seem like used phones to me. Refurbished or "renewed" phones should have the pieces that are broken, or that show significant repair be replaced. That's why we have two different words to describe refurbished and used. Probably why Amazon chooses to use the word renewed. Just know that you are taking a gamble on a random used device if you buy any renewed item from Amazon. Buy an actual refurb, or a used device that you can actually inspect the condition. These listings are a sham and should not be marketed as "renewed".
It is a basic iPhone, it has some blemishes. I would contact the seller and point it out and ask them if they can do anything for the price, if not send it back, if they give you 15-20% money back I would buy a case for that and call it a day.
For me it has been really hit or miss. A few are great, look like new and have really good battery health. Others no so much. Either really marked an/or battery health closer to 80%. Fortunately there is the 90 day return policy.
I have a little question. Amazon promises +80% battery life, so imagine I buy it and battery health is on 85%. Could I still return it? The product complies the minimum requirements, but for me is a low battery percentage
I wouldnt even buy an iphone new anymore. Recently got a 13 with a new battery in good condition and it performs pretty much as good as the new 15 from a friend of mine. Your rly dont need to buy a new phone anymore
@@ChristianMapperReal I don’t gamer either but with the new updates and photos 64gb will get used up pretty quick. Now if you don’t plan on upgrading security or taking pics. Sure 64 should do.
I shouldn't have to state the obvious, but these days people apparently don't have common sense. So, the big secret to "Amazon Renewed" is checking the seller reviews! Yes, that little "details" tab underneath each renewed listing tells you little things such as seller review scores, prices, and everything else you need to know. It's 2023 and you'd think people would automatically know this but I've seen dozens of renewed products unboxing videos and people don't know that. If you got this for $300 it was likely listed as in acceptable or just good condition. Right now the higher good condition iPhone 12 phones are around $300-350 and excellent goes up past $400. That's the base 64 GB model and if it's more storage, you'll easily pay $500 or more. My advice is be happy with what you got because the trade off for Amazon renewed products is maybe a blemish or two. And like you said, you have 90 days to return it. I've ordered 2 android phones from Amazon renewed and both were flawless.
I bought a iPhone 12 mini last November and I ended up getting a new one. the battery sucked, the antenna in the phone was broken, and it just sucked overall. I recently bought a iPhone 13, so much better. The battery lasts all day, and just better overall.
iPhone SE $425., new. I would buy a used iPhone for $300. But I don't trust the lighting port as I have had 3 iPhone's that the lightning port went bad and stopped connecting. Even my iPhone 13 mini's lighting port no longer connects. I have to charge my iPhone 13 mini wireless. I am happy Europe laws forced Apple to have to use USB-C connector on all iPhones. As I feel USB-C is superior to lightning port in speed and reliability.
so I recently bought this and it came in today, I got the excellent condition option, it came with tiny scuffs, and scratch marks on the bottom of the frame, and the screen was popping out by a tiny bit, I pushed it in and came back out, when I was setting it up, I was testing it to see if the screen works, then the screen goes white with little bits of green on it, it's better to buy a refurbished phone at actual places other than online
My current phone is at %100 still it went through my dad for 4 years then me for about 2 years now so i don't get how people use their phone so much to the point where they loose battery life.
Official iPhone chargers are 18 watt fast chargers. There's no real difference between them and the 20 watt aftermarket chargers except that 2 watt difference. I believe I still have a 20 watt charger somewhere in my bedroom. The only reason I'm not using it is I'm currently using a 45 watt aftermarket charger which I bought for my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. I'm charging everything I own with it.
Does this have ESIM? Isn't the Iphone 14 totally ESIM? Also does this have any kind of warranty because that is whats important? also why would you ever want to do fingerprints and face recognition?
My iPhone 12 on iOS 16.3 was crashing a lot ,dropping frames just pulling the control center now on 16.4 it's a little better but it's still giving a lot of fps drop especially in games and scrolling some apps
Last year I bought my friends 12PM for $200 after he got the green 13PM. It was my best purchase of the year. Perfect condition minus the 89% 🔋 capacity. Using it now
whats crazy is I scored one for 200$ brand new from boost mobile, which is insane (it was a promotion to attract new users but they are already my carrier and the sale somehow applied)
bought a refurbished iphone 12 for $274 and since im not from the US i had to pay $470+ for everything in total and its getting delivered tommorow im soo excited :)
@@safia3250 oh yeah i've recieved it and ive had it for some few month now, i wasnt initilly satisfied with the condition of the phone since i chose the ''Good'' condition but it was worth it considering i didnt buy it from amazon it runs pretty well and the scratches on the phone can easily be hidden with a phone case but overall ive been happy with it and i do not regret getting it :)
there are two tiers of amazon renewed. there's "renewed" and "renewed premium". if you want one with absolutely no scratches at all and a 1 year return period, you go renewed premium. these cost a bit more tho.
Apple does but they’re usually more expensive. Iphone 12 mini refurbished was $560. But Apple refurbished is great the phone is basically new on the outside with a fresh battery.
LOL... I think you've opened up the generic box UPSIDE DOWN (the flaps are the "BOTTOM" of the box!). Cables and charging block at usually placed on the bottom with the iPhone on TOP. Thanks for the laughs...
Ok I was afraid to try Amazon when I was needing one last year. I looked at 11 and 12 pro max. Reviews were mixed on Amazon. So I took my 6plus to the Apple store and looked around the 14 pro max was the same size, I was flabbergasted. A sales member said to someone that they had a 14pro max in stock it was there last one. He was not interested. Found a greeter and told her so they put my name on it. It had of course extra memory on it so I took it. It cost 1,400+ by the time it was over I had a migraine.
honestly, 80% battery health is pretty garbage. I wouldn't accept any iPhone 12 at under 90% battery as the battery itself is pretty weak in general. I'm getting mine delivered today, Hoping for the best. What i'm mostly concerned about with these phones is the water proofing. If the screen has in anyway ever been replaced you can kiss the waterproofing goodbye, and there's no real way to know that which is a bummer. I would deff keep these refurb phones away from the water at all costs just incase.
You don't mention the entries in settings about replacement parts.... genuine apple, unknown....would that show if the screen had been replaced without the watertight seal?
Oh, I was thinking about the galaxy S 21 or the iPhone 12 will boost mobile‘s offer not iPhone 12 for $199 then you buy $40 a month plan and you can earn money off in the boost one app I think I’m gonna go with that one. I hate contracts anyway thank you for your show
Dear Greg, Hubby still needs an iPhone and wouldn't care about the scratches, uses a case, and we are old, anyway, and we have a few dings too. He hates his Android. So if you want to send this or any of your iPhones to the "Land of Sunshine" in Southern US, we promise to give it a good home.
