Carl Eller rookie is awesome! What a heck of a find young man. Lots of Hall of Famers there. John Henry Johnson, Willie Davis(Rookie), Bobby Mitchell, Jerry Kramer, Forrest Gregg, Lee Roy Selmon, Jim Ringo, Gino Marchetti, Sam Huff(Rookie), Nick Buoniconti and Merlin Olsen in your pile that you didnt recognize the names. Also in that pile is a Lyle Alzado rookie, Irving Fryar rookie, and Dan Pastorini rookie. Not Hofers but some notable players. I see this is 8 months ago so you have probably already found out what awesome find you have there.
As far as valuable cards it all depends on the condition but I did see some rookie cards of Steve Largent, Carl Eller, Sammy White, Jim Plunkett, Earl Campbell, Ottis Anderson, Billy Sims.... There may be more but that is the one's I noticed. Awesome deal for 14.00 Dollars. Why can't I find deals like that at garage sales??? :)
The reason it is hard to find deals like this at sales is because it’s uncommon to begin with. Most people don’t have the pre junk era stuff at all so finding it in good condition is hard. In order to get a good price you have to negotiate but finding the deal to begin with takes luck, persistence, and strategy. The first point is self explanatory but for persistence it’s just about going to as many sales as possible. A good strategy is to look up sales online, look at pictures, and get there as early as possible before others take the deal.
