Good deal. I found a 12 impreza with front damage for 3500.00 just finished it and instead of selling it I fell in love with it and decided it’s my daily driver! Never was a fan of Subaru until I started fixing them and realized the simplicity of the engineering. Great cars in my opinion!

you keep doing the exact same stuff as me. i rebuilt a 2017 WRX from copart a few years ago. it had a tree fall on it. similar level of damage, but on the top rather than the front. i'll be following this.

NICE! I've always wanted an STI but they hold their value too much plus I needed something bigger. In 2013 I bought a 5spd manual Outback XT that has the EJ25 & a turbo. I also paid $7k but mine was in good running condition. I replaced the brakes & shocks, upgraded anti-sway bars then swapped out the intake/exhaust and got a dyno-tune. It's no STI but I'll take my old Outback over a WRX, of any age, any day.

I have "fallen into deals" before but $7k is a steal! Especially with the mileage on this car. Good find and good luck, my friend.

The body panels line up really nice. If you do a Koyo radiator, you may need to trim a bit from the upper and lower rad hoses where they mate to the radiator because the Koyo rad is fat enough that the upper hose will be pushed very close to the PS pump pulley and the lower hose may be slightly kinked.

Weird air bag deployments. I could show you pictures of a Legacy and Outback with much more front end damage from two hard hits. Both cars totaled and neither had any bag deployments. Fortunately my relatives were able to walk away but Subaru couldn’t explain why there was no deployments in either car.

I have a 2017 Subaru Forester 2.5l gas. I have 3 problems on my car, including post catalyst fuel trim system being too lean, o2 sensor circuit with low voltage, and catalyst efficiency below threshold. I was wondering if you know the fix to these problems. I appreciate it.

Question! I have a 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5L Premium with the CVT transmission (134k miles), when I am park I have a slight vibration, it gets worse in reverse and drive, but in neutral it completely goes away and the car idles fine. The car also vibrates while accelerating. When accelerating or even just tapping the throttle when driving at 60+mph the car will vibrate and then goes back to normal... its also cruising at 2,000rpms which I have no idea if that is concerning or not. I bought it used no warranty and at 128k miles, one owner, clean carfax and have only owned it for 7 months... I have already had to replace the ball joint, lower control arm, and it eats oil like crazy (about a quart every 650-800 miles). My family has a 2012 Honda Odyssey, with 184k miles on it and it has never had this many problems! Our 2017 Camry and 2015 Altima haven't had really any problems either (but these two are lower mileage then my Subaru). The motor mounts and transmission mounts look fine, I'm just worried its going to be something stupid expensive. Please help me!

QUESTION. I had my 2018 Crosstrek in for the d service in late October and told them to also fix my drivers side day time running light. Charged me $45 for the bud replacement but I noted 2 days later my headlight switch was moved from auto to full time running lights. I switched it back to auto and noticed hey my DRL is still not working. I thought I will tell them but did not get on top of it let it slide until I took it in today. The mechanic looks at it and come back and tells the advisor the bulb is good and it must be something Else and they say it will be $150 plus tax to diagnose. I have a extended warranty and he said it might be covered. After they fix it Subaru said not covered because they did not change any parts. They said this word for word on the bill. DRL has power but no ground to 2 pin connector. Disconnected main headlight connector and verified ground supply going to headlight. Then checked resistance of the ground wire going from the bulkhead headlamp connector to the pin at the DRL. Resistance was within spec and was able to hold a load. Re-connected bulkhead connector to headlamp and light worked. There was a bad connection at the male female terminals at the bulkhead connector tightened both sides and applied enhancer to the connectors. So it sounds like the connector came lose because the first guy who changed the bulb did not connect the male to the female connector and the second guy plugged it back in and applied caulking so it doesn’t come lose again

I have a 2013 WRX hatchback that was hit by a doe whitetail deer running full out. I was doing 60 MPH. She hit the front fender at 90 degrees on driver side. Lifted front wheel off ground, put me in a spin, made a 360 degree and then 170 degree, ending in a ditch facing the wrong direction. No airbag deployment. No framerail damage, just both front finders, drivers door, mirror, hood. Insurance totaled it, after their estimate of $3750.00 wasn't enough and bodyshop sent a Supplemental for $5098.00. I retained the car, Insurance paid off $8521.20, so, I'm going to rebuild it and pocket about $3000.00. Sure, it will have a rebuild title, but I love the car and don't ever expect to sell. I was one payment away from paying it off when it happened. I paid it off the day the insurance company totaled it. So, after it gets out of the bobyshop, I'm going to start moding it. I kept it stock while I was paying on it. Now, I have $3000.00+ to start with. I'm going with a Grimmspeed catback exhaust as the first, then I'm going to go from there, I want to get more power without hurting reliability, and daily driving, a good balance of same ol' reliable Subie, to more kick in the pants. Good luck Mr, Subaru!
