Just discovered your channel and I've gotta say I really appreciate how it is actually very informative and not just a video about your day/personal life like greg a's videos have become. Keep up the awesome work I'm loving it!
Hey Weston. Gotta tell you man.. you never know what people are up against in their day to day. Today was a surgery for my son. Just wanted to say I love your videos and thanks for allowing us to watch what you're up to next. Some normalcy to some of us dealing with some shit. Thanks Weston! Love watching.
Dude, your personality 🤣🤣. Love it ... Subscribed! I recently purchased a 2019 Ram 2500 Cummins, my first diesel. Looking forward to seeing this project. You can’t have my fender though.
Westen Ol Buddy I’ve been doing what ur doing for over 50yrs!!! & I still get the same EXCITEMENT inside of me as u do! & ur just starting down the road of Junk! Whenever u have our PASSION for what we’re doing to make a living it’s never as if ur going to work! Now I have had my share of Stubborn Pain in the Ass vehicles that seemed as if they were cursed or a version of Christine! But they are few and far between! Keep up all the good work Brother! & never be afraid to take on anything!!! Just always remember to try to finish a project b4 jumping around a lot! Because sometimes the longer something sits the more uninterested it gets!
Westen, I like how you and your crew roll. Nothing is too difficult of a challenge. When I heard the Ram only had 7k, I almost fell over. That is a steal. Looking forward to The Blue Meaney Peterbilt completion and this new project. Like I said, nothing is too difficult of a challenge. Love youse guys videos. Keep it up. You all are awesome.
I would actually like to see a breakdown of what this truck costs you when it’s done like your previous trucks. I myself have been looking at buying a wreck.
Stay away from wrecked truck. It's damaged beyond repair. I already went through same thing few years ago with f150, looks good in person until you put on the frame and no repair shop wants to deal with it.
Don't listen to those other guys (do they even watch Westin's videos?). Of course you want to avoid vehicles with pretzeled frames or that need special skills/equipment to fix, until you get better at it. But a project that needs parts you can just bolt on is a good start.
@@repairvehicle I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic when he said that the Mustang would be easy, but it didn't take a rocket scientist to see that the car was badly damaged. Not a first-timer repair, to be sure. But Westin isn't afraid, and he's taking the Mustang to someone with the skill/equipment to deal with it, smart feller. I've done about a dozen salvage cars now, with the early ones being parts-swap fixes and the later ones needing body work, major mechanical repairs and even some structural repair. My point to the OP, and to you is that a newbie should start with easy repairs, and also that every wrecked car doesn't have to have frame damage.
Westen your one of my newest favorite RU-vidd I love the humor you bring and energy you give off you are a great person I’d love to get on a project with you especially a big rig as I’m a trucker myself
live and let live The frame is underneath it, not in the doors, the part that is damaged by the door is the cab, not the frame. I have a feeling the frame is fine.
live and let live Cab damage is almost always a total, even if the frame is fine, swapping a cab is a lot of work and insurance would rather total it. The cab probably doesn’t need to be swapped, but insurance doesn’t care, it sees cab damage and says no way. They don’t care if it’s fixable with enough work, beyond a certain amount of damage they just total cars. The amount of totaled cars that are actually fixable is crazy.
It is always nice to visit your lovely workshop, even if it is only through the internet. Interesting though, being able to visit when it's about 12000 miles between us. 🎅 I wish your whole family a Merry Christmas 🎄. From a cold, -9 ° F and snowy ❄️ 5 Feet, North Sweden.
carpntrcycl if the door and fender are onback ordered from the dealer. Insurance will total a vehicle out versus making the customer wait months and months. It’s a pretty common practice.
Yes, I looked at this and your right rear door post should be black. When you painted it you painted the front door door post red. Just mentioning it. You did an excellent job on the refurb!
Also when the body shops get full (think a big ice storm) they tend to write more off. Agreed that the Damage didn’t go over the the ACV, usually at 47% of the value.
Its all a write off for ALL Insurance co’s. They all write off losses......But that is waaaaaay less that they pay out...Remember there nor allowed to lose money..Lmfao 😭🇺🇸
It’s crazy how fast you’ve blown up. It feels like not too long ago I subbed and you only had 20,000 subscribers. And now you’re my favorite channel to watch. Much love from Dallas. Keep up the great work Westen
“I’m just gonna leave that shut” That’s years of opening and doing stupid shit that causes countless hours of heartache 🤣😂👌😂🤣😂 I know the feeling well.
You should do Laramie headlights and taillights. But keep the stock rims just put some meaty tires on it. Also the 12 inch screen would be awesome.and also a delete
Doug Anderson they don’t live in California his red Dualy is deleted and the Fummins blows black smoke I don’t think it’s that big of a deal in Kansas. Or anywhere outside of California.
@ im with you i rebuild cars as a hobby it takes time. My trans has been in shop for months. Wasnt in a rush atbthe time now im at a stand still. Already finish motor rebuild and welding up the rusted floor pans. And rewired the car for swap. ( minus under dash )
Westin! My man! I haven't tuned in in a while. Been focused more on my guitar practices lately. I subscribed back around 65-70k subscribers. Holy smokes at your sub count! Congratulations brother. I had a good feeling your content would be very attractive.
Cameron2874 lol it was my boss I was sleeping when it happened but he says that he was getting sleepy already and he thinks both him and the truck driver swerved a bit and hit each other at the same time, we collided right on or near the rear wheels of the trailer
I got a kick out of your enthusiasm 😂 last 2 dodges and a 250 superduty i bought to rebuild gave me the same excitement, funny watching you it's like watching a younger me...😂 you crack me up.
Dude body shops are absolutely out of their minds. they almost make more money totaling vehicles.. they charge the insurance company for every time they even move it in and out of the shop.. those headlights are probably 1000 for oem. Parts and labor adds up quick
@@Thunder-iu6ev OK i can see that now. These guys over here have a full shop and move all the cars outside every day and back in the shop at night. Like 50 cars and they charge $65 every time they move it. And you know they charge labor to pull the car apart to work up estimate.
@@extrof that's sometimes true. We just fixed a 2017 Chevy silverado 1500 with 54000 miles on it and it needed a complete box side, front box panel, rear cab panel, inner and outer cab corner, roof skin, new rear door, and fix the front door. That should have been totalled but the insurance company had us fix it.
@Westin Champlin I will have you know I found your channel yesterday and ended up binge watching several of your series until 2am ... Your sense of humor had me laughing last night so loud I'm lucky I didnt wake the wife up ! Keep up the good work sir.. Appreciate your work
