I use the Tchad Blake method, one nice mic (SE Electronics) on top of the bass drum, make mix easier with one track! ^ I could buy a 2nd hand EAD10 though
Two years or more have now past since you bought your EAD10. Are you still using it as your main recording setup and have you had any issues with it? Thanks,
Hi dude I'm not sure how to play along with music on the ead10. I have an Apple ipod nano with music and an mp3 stick with music........where do I connect the ipod nano and whete do I put the mp3 stick ?Do any buttons need to be pressed to access the songs ? Sorry I just got it and have no idea how to play along to fav tracks. 🙋🇦🇺

Does the EAD 10 pick up the actual bass drum sound? I'm aware it acts as a trigger and you can change it but I'm wondering if it can pick up the actual sound as well.
You can have it set as natural sounding as you like but it will always be a little bit trigger sounding as it is a trigger not a close mic! I have mine on maple 22” which is what my kick drum is and it sounds very similar to how it would sound with a close mic.

What if I only what to use the custom preset like you did near the end? I am guessing you used that to record that song you played to. I would just like to record myself to see how I sound!
If you are running the EAD10 into a laptop/DAW then it’s simple. Just select which present you want on the EAD and hit record in your daw. You could even change presets whilst it’s recording.

I've been trying to figure out the best way to start recording my drums, mainly to play covers, as you do, and to make the mixing process easier since i don't have any experience about it. I can configurate the EAD10 to imported directly to my pc as a track on any DAW, right? So that i can add more tracks with more instruments. Do you think i can work for me to Start recording my music?
Your EAD will go straight into the DAW via USB and only requires one track. You could then plug a interface into your laptop via USB and have XLR cables running from the interface mic’ing whatever else you want to mic. Amps, vocals etc.

Can the Microphone be attached somewhere besides the Bass Drum? I play a Rack and sit pretty low, my Ride sits directly above my Bass Drum about 3" so I'm wondering if that might take away from picking up the rest of the Kit. Mine should arrive in a day or 2 but figured I'd throw the question out If anyone has experience with this (Positioning of the Mic).
It can only clamp to the hoop of the bass drum unfortunately, even if that wasn’t the case it prob wouldn’t sound as good placed anywhere other than the kick
To plug into the EAD you need a 6.35mm Jack cable. However you can use a jack adapter and plug a 2.5 into it then, or if you are recording into a DAW then plug the headphones into your laptop/computer. Hope this helps!
