I just got my MT09 and was torn between it and the R7. The break in is a drag for sure, but at least I can go up to 74MPH while staying under 5300 RPM. 😂 Great bike bro! 🤙🏻
I just got the same exact bike the same weekend you did. And like you I was stoked! I have a few more miles left for break in then I can put her to the test. I am really looking forward to seeing some of your mods. Right now on mine I only got the Yoshimura tail tidy and some frame sliders. I do have a full carbon Yoshimura R77 exhaust on preorder. So keep the videos coming and ride safe brother.
New brakes have to bed in to work properly. I doubt they are awful as you keep saying. Drag the brakes and do a few hard stops and they should be good. You have to embed pad material into the new rotors in order for them to start working as they should.
You're not "embedding" anything. It gives the pads a chance to wear away where they touch high spots on the disc and getting them hot evaporates any remaining fluids
@@233kosta You must be new to motorcycles. “Bedding” in brakes means exactly that. That’s how brakes work. You have to embed pad material into the rotor. That is what creates the friction. It has nothing to do with high spots. Smoothing mating surface happens naturally. Bedding in refers to pad material transfer. A bed of pad material on the rotor which needs to happen with any new rotor before brakes work as designed. This is why brakes on the first ride of brand new bike feel like crap. It isn’t because of high spots. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fy0HAnOtbAQ.html
@@VeriStrawberi Yeah, but even the S1000RR is going to have “shit brakes” right off the dealer lot. Any and every rotor needs bedded in with pad material. Odds are, he will chime in and say that the brakes are doing much better now….. since they are likely bedded in by now.
I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, I road 750 and 1100 Superbikes back in the 80's and now at 56 I wanted a sport bike that wouldn't wake up and bite me in the corner if I rolled on a little too much throttle like an R6 or R1 would probably do. Enjoy the bike my friend, throw some braded lines up front and some new pads and I'm sure she'll feel much better under braking.😎🤘🏍
Blaster X tail is sick. Combined with JL Designs Fender Eliminator and TST flushmounts. Also you do you, but the "break in" period was a relic of the 70's and 80's. Besides the bike was red lined 5-6 times at 0 miles for the dyno test.
Omg you are as excited as I am and you already have it… I pick mine up in 4 days and I can’t sleep 😂 Getting an akrapovic exhaust, tail tidy and quick shifter straight up! I’m so keen dude ❤😍 Love your vibes! 🙏 ❤
@@2wheelt928 I'm not to terribly worried about it! I'm deployed right now anyways so I won't be home till November to ride it so they have plenty of time. Stay safe man, gotta say I'm enjoying the vids!
I saw this video on my recommended and I was like this place looks like grandprix in CO and I was correct. I got the same bike from Gforce lol. I just reached 600mi on mine!
@@2wheelt928 btw overall do you like the R7. The Aprillia is my first ever bike so slowly getting into it but will be happy when I can fly down the interstate like yourself.
@@mattstakeontheancients7594 Man I absolutely love the R7. It's easy to ride, super smooth, GREAT in the canyons, plenty of speed (though not crazy fast like some people want), and I like that it doesn't have many electronics so you really feel one with the bike. It's perfect for me! And smart man, take it slow. Always stay in your comfort zone 🤙
It definitely feels like a beginner bike in a lot of ways. But if you do what its meant for, it's a lot of fun for sure. I think people just want it to be faster
I just couldn’t justify paying that kind of money for 74 horses. The Kawi Zx6-R has less engine displacement and makes 134 HP for $1,500 more. Don’t get me wrong the R7 is beautiful to look at.
I feel you but I didn't buy this one for speed. I've got enough of that already haha. I got this for the fun factor, and it's been exactly what I've wanted 🤙
i couldnt justify over 100hp and there are plenty of cheap r6's and cbr600s, but Im in the city way more than highway. Would look and sound cool but otherwise its a waste on me. Not to mention the tickets I would no doubt get. a zx4r tho...
