I put a set of lights very similar to these under my back bumper on either side of my reciever hitch and wired them as backup lights. Been there for 5 years and still work great.
Like others, I have these(or some variation of them) on my Jeep I park on the street at work, and don’t want nice pods to get stolen. These are easily replaced if stolen, and provide adequate light for the dollar. Theyve got my vote.
@@4wheeling spots would be nice but not really pickey wife does all the driving now and has trouble seeing on road at night let alone off road on a dark area (jk she does good just looking for more light to make easier)
Michael Suhoney I have some new floods you can have. I’ll even get them shipped to you. They are nilights. I just bought way more than I needed. Contact me at Stoneage79 on Instagram, and we can set something up.
I bought the cheapest grab bars I could find on Amazon for my jeep, they worked fine and still are good versus other brands available. They are definitely knock offs and aesthetically not that pretty but they do the job. My biggest concern with "nice" lights for my jeep is that anyone with a wrench can take them off within minutes. So I feel like I would use cheap LEDs for this reason.
I had A cheap light bar and cheap light pods ,. no issues on both had for 3 years..Some times things surprise you., same as my cheap led head lights , no issues over 3 years , and still are on my old jeep. for all lights cost was under 200$ for all of them..I will use them..
"... These Rigid's are just a little more expensive..." Rigid's are 14x's the cost of the Cheap pods! LOL Too funny! Good stuff. Most of these products are made in China (mostly in the same plant too!), regardless of manufacturer. The difference boils down to QC checks and slight cosmetic differences between the different companies. So many of these products, with a bit of work, will perform nearly as well as the expensive stuff. Are they worth it? That's up to the buyer to decide. Also, that plug on the Rigid lights is probably a plug from when they purged the pod w/nitrogen. I could be wrong, but having a self regulating purge valve seems a bit much for a $140 light. Also- if you can get the face plate off the $10 pods, maybe run a bead of Dielectric grease along the seal (or where a seal should go). Might help w/the water intrusion... Great vid though! I'll definitely be giving these lights a try- I'm cheap. Thanks!
It may be time for a video on how you have managed to drive a 3.8 liter JK with all the build you have done on it. A lot of people would like to get into JKs and the 3.8 tends to be cheaper. But how do you live with it? Not trolling, I am literally wondering.
Dude this video and the comments have inspired me to mod my lawnmower. Crazy but I'm excited about it. I'm going to spray line it, add light pods/ bars and maybe some rock lights idk. Gonna do it all with the cheapest stuff I can find on Amazon.🤪 👍
Are Amazon LED lights shirt excellent Amazon just have excellent prices $10 lights is just as bright as the $100 lights I have them on my car I have a 55 in LED bar 35 in 2 15 in and I just bought some off-road Jeep lights
Well you managed to put the bosses asleep before finishing up early. Lights are cool need to share with some one as back up light. It has turned into a double give away for back up lights. December 22 equinox sun coming back our way. Good day for the give away. OMB
I say here is my story, I'm a veteran who was injured during operation, Everyday is a challenge to move or leave my house. The only thing I have left in life is this.I had almost taken my life multiple times..So do I get extra points , my first jeep burnt to the ground 3 months old..
New to your channel and to jeeps. I've purchased a 2007 jk for a surprise birthday present for my daughter who is on a Christian mission trip and I think these would be AWESOME!
'Ridgid' are the perfect example that they can make good stuff in China. IF the company prioritising having quality products over maximising profits...
You say high end, I say over priced. I just can not understand why the over priced lights are so expensive. Yes the quality is better in some cases but hundreds of dollars for two 4 inch lights. I work a full time job and can not afford Rigid or KC. I know people buy them, that's why the price doesn't come down. America needs to find a way to bring down the cost without compromising quality. I have no choice but to stick with Auxbeam because I can afford that. I would much rather buy American but can't afford it. Good video.
I gave you a thumbs down because you can't find anything wrong with them but yet you are constantly talking negative about them. Perhaps that's what is in someone's budget and it is an ideal light. So based on facts and your testing did not prove any fault in them I fine this light to be an excellent choice.
Hello there I'm interested in winning these iam disabled and on a very tight buget. Most of my money goes to raising my girlfriends son and just recently got a jeep zj lifted a little and I'm also blind in one eye so I need brighter lights on my jeep to help me see good. Trying to save now for good headlights. These would work perfect till I get new headlights. Thanks great vids
You sound ignorant for saying that you wouldn’t run them on your jeep because of their low cost. If they perform even remotely close to your $100-$200 versions, which most reviews I’ve watched said that they do, you deciding to pay more makes you look ignorant for overspending because it doesn’t have the name RIGID on them. You don’t have to overpay and you don’t need to have the best name brand to get the job done.
Hey there! I noticed the Whatajeep cup on the work bench. If your interested in your own custom cup hit us up on FB or Instagram. Get Outta My Head Creations
Dear Sir: Excuse me. Auxbeam is a brand that focuses on the production and research and development of automotive LED lights. We are very pleased to see your high-quality evaluation. That's so cool! And we sincerely invite you to test our new arrivals. If you are interested, plz message to us and we will send the lights to you for free. Thank you
240 dollars for rigid or 10 dollars for amazon... "buy once and be done or.... BUY 24 sets of the amazon ones for the same amount." Ok, that may not have been a quote from the video but its all that was going through my mind. I have some of the crappier designed pods on my daily abuser and they look just fine after more than a year. Assume at worst that you get a year out of the LED's, you get 24 years of brand new lamps. Not only that, rigid on the lens is going to attract more attention from thieves. Insurance claim is 100-1000 dollars for a deductible meaning for most people you get to pay the 240 dollars for more rigids out of your own pocket. The conversation of not wanting to gamble on lighting... that makes sense for something like a winch or suspension, things that will get you out of a dangerous situation. If you cannot get off the trail with your factory lighting, you need a driver mod more than a light mod. I really cannot justify the cost of the name brand stuff, especially for how little they get used/should be used... Im talkin bout' you goobers blinding traffic running your pods in the city.
Ok I am interested in those lights I am on disability so fixed income I have 5 kids ages 23,22,21,15&5 and I have a $509.87 Jeep wrangler payment on top of that I had my jeep in the garage 3x and had to do the clutch myself which took 3 months to do and now idk if I am gonna have my jeep for christmas 🎄 and how I am gonna get any presents to any of my children this year cause I tried to help someone whom almost had me in jail for grand theft before christmas 🎄 when they let me use itfor 3 days and because she is evil told my friend I wouldn't drive him to his p.o. and I was on my way to his home at the time but I do have a light bar for is lights for a tj but I have it on my jk 08 4 door and it kinda looks like an extra roll bar instead of a light bar
I mean 12.99 over the course of 3 years is only 39 bucks compared to rigids 200 dollar pods. You could replace a cheap pod light for the next 15 years before you get to the 200 dollar rigid price.
The reason why they are yellow is because that is the phosphor layer coating the LED die. White LEDs actually only produce two colors of light that your brain perceives as white when mixed together. The LED die produces blue light and as those blue photons travel through the phosphor layer, the phosphor layer produces its own light which is a yellow or reddish color (depending on the color temperature produced). When the blue light from the LED and the other color light from the phosphor mix, the brain perceives that light as white. So all white LEDs appear yellow-ish because of the phosphor layer. It looks like Rigid does a better job of hiding it.
Man U gave every excuse in the book of why not to get or keep these lights! In case you didn’t know 90% of the American life style is from CHI- NA. Dont be a sell out.
Fun fact most of the "high end brand" are these cheap Chinese lights with their names on it. I got kicked off a site one time when i found out the manufacturer of a certain brand of mufflers were claiming made in the USA and I found their same muffler was coming from Alibaba and had the same exact welds and dimples, etc etc. You would be very surprised what you can find. Nothing wrong with making a buck but don't lie or say your brand is better when all these guys are getting them from the same place. Maybe they put a plug on the end of change out a lens and they think that's made in the USA
Gd video but I’d say u had the too far back some of the light was hitting bumper instead of road u probly had 80 percent on both light n other 20 15 percent was reflecting off bumper they work great
Your putting them down saying for the price they can be dependable. You were impressed and they surprised you but you would recommend because of cheap price? But you were also surprised by their quality and they were similar to more expensive brands? I’m confused if you just recommended people spend more money for a similar product. I understand you personally needed a little more light. Seems like these lights only real fault was price.which is oddly ironic
My 16 year son and I fixing up a 1996 Jeep Cherokee and we are calling it project sloth because it's taking for ever those lights would be great for this Jeep
How many times saying they are not as good does it take to convince you they are not as good? I saw a guy the other day that probably $1500 to $2000 worth of extra lights, most of which are illegal to use on public roads. The cheap lights looked Ok to me and I thought they did a really good job!
Lights look great and 10 $ is a steal for them. For a 140 $ you could buy 14 prices of these and could last lifetime of a vehicle. You said 10 $ at least 30 times in the video 😁
You pay the extra just for the brand name. Had baja before. Got a little moisture inside and it was a hassle to deal with their warranty claim. Start to use Amazon light after that. Had it for 4 years/70k miles, the Amazon light lens is still clear and as bright as new. The only downside is the paint.
cheap led lights came a long way! rather keep buying cheap ones and replacing them often than buying 1000's of $ worth of lights. no one is gonna bother stealing your cheap lights and if they do, you wont get upset. cant say the same for the really expensive stuff.
I have a 1992 ford f150 that has a bench seat with an arm rest, I just thought about putting my switch panel in my arm rest anyone think this is a good idea, nice clean look maybe?
It’s just like almost every other accessories you buy for your truck. Yeah there might be a difference but usually it’s so small you don’t even notice. Like if you put someone in that jeep not tell them how much the lights were and turn them on. I doubt they would be like oh man these are garbage lol. Nah your just paying for the name and if you think the names worth spending more for then do you.
they look pretty good and can think of a few applications for these ,but they are unavailable on amazon lol ... you done made them sell out !!! so i'll have too wait , unless I win them !!! ;)
keep them on and see how long they last. Put them through hell. I've been looking for some pod lights for the back of my truck. Gets daily driven to work and does duty around my farm on the week ends. That includes evening when the fence goes down or I have to retieve a dog from the woods. Always happens at night.
Dang I was super shocked as well they wasn't bad at all I'd definitely rock those I just got me a z71 so with the note I haven't been able to customize it much so enter me for that giveaway please
brand name. whats in a brand name? wouldnt be surprised if all these little companies including rigid were made by the chinese with differentiating pieces. and KC is still smoking dope in a vw hotbox
Work great on my Jeep! We also mount these on the bottom of our motorcycles facing down at the street so that when we ride wheelies and our headlights are facing straight up in the air these lights allow us to see in front of us while we are on the back wheel!! Smiles per gallon!! And they seem to take the abuse!
I typically buy the cheaper lights because it hurts less when a limb smashes them. I have yet to hind a quality to dollar ratio difference in expensive lights and cheaper ones. I installed rear facing lights mounted on my light bar mount. They are $20 2inch Amazon lights and the work great. I don't need them often, so it would have been fooling to buy a set of $150 lights. Keep the content coming! Thanks
It's not worth my time , not even for 10$ , I bought 4 of them and the light is so dim , the color is purple tint , and look horrible, no output, garage
Dude take care of them when you get them get some rubber gasket seal them up repaint them and bet they last just asking or longer I mean 10 dollars for a years worth or fun time can’t beat it but 4 get 2 years worth I mean bias is the name of this game
Probably cost them $5 to make so they sell them for $10 rather than scrap them. They make little to no profit, but they dont take a loss so it is a win.
