I bought cheap Cadillac at auction but I think I got a Saab! 

"Build quality feels american". ..built at the Saab factory in Trollhättan, Sweden 🇸🇪

And it was me who ended up with the Cadillac and it's a brilliant car. It cleaned up well didn't it :-) and we agreed a good price thank you Sophie. The drive is nice and firm and doesn't show its age, yes it looks like a hearse, but stands out lol. Never driven a Saab before but will be looking for a convertible one now as this is a lovely car to drive. Thank you for the car and it was fascinating to find your video afterwards, watched it nervously but all good in the end. Great job on the paintwork.

It's not even a proper Saab though 😂 Its a Vauxhall pretending to be a Saab pretending to be a Cadillac 😂😂 I'd rather have a Saab - but preferably a proper one... 9000, 900 classic, 99... Proper Saabs were great cars.

I bought a 2,8 turbo V6 BLS last year. Best car I have ever had! I was able easily to overtake several BMW's, Audi's and even Porsche's on the German autobahn! Cheap luxury car!

Well, I'd rather buy this Sadillac. The real mid-00's Caddy is way too big for Europe and has cheap interior.

I might take issue with your description of "reliable" - if it's got the Fiat / GM 1.9 diesel engine, expect problems with turbos, intercoolers and EGR valves - luckily my 9-3 was a company car, so I didn't have to pay the bill......

i have one of these in the UK too. Its a saab. I have 100k miles and its a tank. problem is, you need a special plug for the diagnostic, which most mechanics dont carry. Oh and changing the headlights is a pain in. the ass. Any idea where to find parts for it?

Presumably BLS stands for Bit Like Saab

They sold poorly in the USA. You also had a Subaru-Saab model when GM had a small part of Subaru the 'Tribeca' which was notorious for their ugly front/grill. This is definitely an unique motor.

This is a first for me. I've never heard of a BLS. Living in North America (Toronto), these were never sold here. I'm pretty up on my car brands but this is the first time I've been this surprised.

Dont like it one bit and I'm sure I'd have had a cheeky bid at 8 tonne ish myself. My kind of crap too. Recently had a £2050 Cap Punto for £700 A Colt for £300 Capping £890, A Fiesta for £400 cap was £1300 leather flatted polished lovely. Worst was the Fiesta, slipping / engine / clutch noise was non- existent but then expansion tank pressurised at end 12 miles drive. On a Fiesta, what's happening there, no fiesta ever had Cyl head woe. So polished it, bleed diagnose later. That Saab is a cack old car, had this kinda estate maybe 150 odd times 18 years buying sub £5k cars. Flatted and sold £2499 ish, nice.

It's a genuinely rare collectable car. There seems to be only 15 of this spec on the road in the UK (saloon and wagon variants combined), so maybe just 10 of this exact spec. May be worth advertising on a classic car website for this reason.

the mirror adjusters have probably got something like "Armor All" spray product in them, give them a good squirt of switch cleaner

Key is common problem unlock button went on mine,coolant pipe is common for rusting same happened on my vectra same 150bhp engine can get a stainless pipe as i did

I can give you mad and saab in the same sentence. I bought the 2010 saab ng9-5 the actual car that top gear featured in the saab episode,so driven by may. Bought it just after saab went bust,got it off it first owner (a "name" in saab owner circles) Pick it up at his big detached house down south, to find it had a tow hitch and a bloody massive 4 wheel caravan (bigger than our house) which they had towed all over Sweden,France and Germany. Paid £10k for it,lost my nerve with it as I discovered how few parts were available and part chopped it for £10k against a 2010 mondeo titanium x sport auto diesel estate.

The real question is are the seats in the Cadillac more comfy than the Saab? They do look a bit better than the standard seats in the 9³ and don't look to be wore out like Saabs usually do.
