I wanted to figure out whether buying kits from the 2b2t chat was a good idea. In today's video, we'll find out. Join my Discord here: www.salc1.com/...
@@Bolt505 This also has a probablity of being a money laundry scheme of some sort. By mixing tons of microtransations from different sources around the world they can cover blend it in with dirty money.

How I wish my Amazon packages get delivered somewhere in the world and they give me coordinates to go find it so that my package don't get stolen at the porch of my house
>sets out to prove it's a scam and something you shouldn't do >gets excellent customer service and all the items he wanted for 5 bucks I don't even play 2b2t and even I want to try buying items now, well done.
It's mostly cause it's much easier to get a positive review and a possible future client than keeping 5$ and 5$ worth of items and word spreading about being a scammer. The scams come when it's much more expensive and/or unique items.
@@dariopadilla1021 and also like these items are worth maybe 5 cents or less so its not like you lose much if you don't scam in other words its a stupid move to scam people if you instead just could build rep
@@dariopadilla1021 it's like this in every trust-based black market in games. The people operating usually have better customer service than real companies since it's even more important to get good vouches from your customers.
i think the 6 hour refund policy is once you get the item so like it takes 48hr to get the item and if you havent used it in 6 hr after you have it delivered then you can return it but idk
While we should be suspicious of these shops in general, they do have a reason to keep their promises to an extent. If they become known as a scammer, then their reputation both on and off the server suffers which will affect their ability to get those sweet $$.
@@Renteks- it kinda does, i assume most people always think about: "is this a new shop? is it old? am i gonna get scammed?" so they end up looking for rep before buying. i know, 5 bucks isn't a lot of money to get scammed off but it's still is money so why risk it scamming someone for 5 bucks every week when you can get constant pay just by being legit and having rep
@Daniel Wang They could just not have a general chat and make the entire thing impossible to chat in, and just done thru tickets or dms. Wouldn't even be too much of red flag cause they wouldn't need a chat anyway
@@varsityathlete9927 you know i think i know why i thought it was a server was because with the name 2b2t my brain thought "y'know cuz of 2b2t this sounds like a server" making me a fucking idioit
I am guessing the shops wont scam because if they scammed they would only get like 5$ out of you. Some people might need repeatedly some stuff & if they have a good experience with one shop there is really no need to buy from someone else. I bough twice from one shop (that since closed) and I bough from the shop twice only because they didnt scam me the first time so yeah.. they got 10$ legit from me and if they scammed me they would only get 5$
@@Jerem0y Eh, depends on the people you deal with. It's easy to tell who the sketchy thieves are compared to the ones who are legitimate. Anything sketch wouldn't be done over a safe platform such as paypal. They'd probably ask for your actual CC number. And really, 5$ stolen is enough to cause bad publicity, meaning your scam would shut down extremely fast. A person who sells cheap wouldn't risk it, there is no gain to be had. And the OP is right. Anything that isn't a scam, is more likely to get your business again due to a build up of trust.
@@MCshadr217 well simply from my experience you can get scammed through paypal. Im not gonna persure anything like 5 or 10 dollars but thats my 2 cents.
@@Jerem0y I jave ordered kits on 2b from 2 different shops, and i myself own one, and yes, as OP said, it's better to actually sell the kits because you'd then get regular clients and you will acquire the trust of many players
Tbh what does the seller have to lose actually giving the items? Like the could get another sale if you like the stuff, and with dupes it’s not a lot of work for them.
Imagine how expensive those kits would be if you couldn't just duplicate them easily. Too bad you can't just spend 50 cents. I guess it's best to buy 10 different kits and then just duplicate all of them instead of 10 of the same.
Good vid sal! I’m actually one of the owners of the first shop and it’s pretty cool to see that you actually bought something lol. Btw I noticed this video must have been recorded quite a bit ago because I had to close orders because of my stash getting nuked. Also we use family and friends so there isn’t any fees on our end :))
@@0m1ett i think family and friends doesn't allow refunds and it is what they have to use so the buyers don't just refund back and scam the sellers. the name is probably them just trying to camouflage the account so that paypal doesn't get suspicious about money constantly going to that account, it sounds kinda dumb that a big company would try to shut down his account over selling minecraft stuff but it's still a chance so i guess they rather play it safe
@@0m1ett we used to refund people if they really did think that they didnt get what they wanted, but the name thing is because i dont want to get doxxed lmfao
@@Deox__ not at all, we do family and friends because we dont want fees on our end, also the name thing is because 2b2t is 2b2t and any chance people can get to ruin somebodys life they will, by having my irl name out there im pretty much asking to get doxxed
I honestly decided to buy from a shop because there hasn’t been a dupe in a year! Stashes are getting a lot harder to find, and if you have the money, I don’t think it’s a bad idea.
honestly yeah, it doesn't seem like that bad of an idea tbh. its way better than other servers were its like sometimes up to 30 bucks for anything good.
One time i survived spawn found food and managed to get diamond enchanted armour all with 0 help then tried to dig down to a mob spawner and then fell into an underground ravine and died of fall damage. I never touched the server again
now it’s just random jokes, the same verified youtubers commenting on every single video, people in the replies asking them about their video and not about the comment.
Except you don't get repeat customers if you scam people... For all the hate rmt gets there's not a game without it and I think you'll find 99% of the time you just get what you paid for... Hundreds of dollars at a time, friends, relitives, my own hand full of transactions. I've never heard of RMTers scamming. Often they just run a market place like a middle man. The real news is how the third world eats on that little bit of money and think of all you got for it. Hours of work in game to cash money. Lost $1 worth of hypixel Skyblock coins in a drop trade scam. I've seen double zeros in every game with a market and chats full of scams in most every game but from what I can tell RMT is surprisingly "honorable"
2:49 usually services don’t have their name in PayPal as it could go against their tos. They also use family and friends to reduce the chance of getting banned by PayPal
I just want to point out that every shop every online store will seem like a scam without reviews and a culture of trust built up around it. anything could be a scam and it's good to be wary, but you also have to know that many people just want to start legitimate businesses - or illegitimate but still totally above board business - and make money in a non scammy way.
refund policy is for cancelling the order before it's delivered. explicitly stated that if they send the coords, you can't refund it. basically means you can cancel within 6 hours if they haven't delivered
Ok, so sure this is very sketch and he probably just got lucky But still the fact that the very first ones weren't scams just goes to prove the weird community 2b2t is. Like I guess scamming isn't as good as breaking rules so makes sense in the end
@@Felale Yes, and if you're trying to build a name for yourself in the community you wouldn't like rumors of you scamming people for 5 bucks going around ruining your reputation
@sprock its not real the guy said he made up a fake organization so he doesnt get doxxed because who would try to dox an organization that helps people?
I've never actually heard anyone use Hornets theme in a video, I recognized it immediately and great placement! Loved the video, but it would've have been funny to go back to that first shop and see if they would've scammed a random. :)
I dont think they'll scam you because of the simple fact that the items are very easy for them to dupe, and by not scamming you they increase the probs of some rich (or just dumb) kid buying again. Either way, I would not recommend it bc as you said it just defeats the purpose of the game. Still interesting that this type of communities develop around 2b2t.
Fun fact, my first (and only) time on 2b2t consisted of burning to death, finding a random full set of armor and tools, and then walking for 25k blocks and building the glorious Trollface, god of chaos.
'Paypal Family and Friends' is because you cannot dispute that charge. If it's through normal Paypal you can chargeback or ask Paypal to return it. Family and Friends you can't.
I once logged into 2b2t, spent 1 hour trying to get out of spawn, fell into an insane lava pit, and was surviving on a couple blocks, was about to commit suicide....when a character flies down to me, places a chest, and an ender chest, throws an entire inventory of loot at me, then starts hitting the ender chest (trying to tell me to put the items in the ender chest).... I did, and got out of spawn and now I live in luxary with shulkers of everything :D Im pretty sure the guy who gave me everything was a bot.... I saw a video about these good Samaritan bots that give items to noobs. l as someone who was new to 2b2t, that bot made my entire experience memorable.
What do you even mean by that? How could he ever do more harm than scamming you out of your money? The only info you'll be giving him is your PayPal profile, that's it. He won't even know what your IGN is
"Salc1" is particularly identifying. Especially if you can just say "ah nah I'm a fan bro" the other guy can't tell any better and then for good measure you can just use another account it doesn't have any identifying information at all...
This reminds me of the blackjack bots in Runescape. My buddy won big off of one and talked to the guy standing next to his bot about it and the guy just said,"Dude it's gambling I dont need to rig it to profit the house always wins"
I agree with message at the end, but dupe glitches are harder and harder to do, harder to come bye, or you don't hear about it till its patched. Also stashes are way farther out which means you need to get lucky friends, in a clan which is hard kinda, and a lot more that requires a stash already being found.
@@polishedmeat6399 well yeah but the original comment was complaining about the apparent scam ones. From the video and other comments it seems like most of these are actually legit honestly
1:14 i'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they meant a 6 hour refund policy *once you receive the items* . i figured this was a given, though
I know the video is 1.5 years old, but just wanted to give my 2 cents to the topic. I played a lot of MMOs where people selling items or gold for real money is really common. And as you would might not think 99% of them are not scammers. especially in MMOs those people often come from countries with bad economy and they are making a good amount of money with this. So they really have no reason to scam you as its a big source of income for them. I myself bought gold countless times back in the day and never got scammed.
It's a case by case basis. I've bought items before (only once) and it was cheap and it was not a scam. However I only recommend it for early early begginers till you can search for dupe stashes.
"We only accept Paypal family and friends. Yeah when you see that that is pretty sketch" Not at all. Doing it otherwise includes a tax which... yeah, why would you want to pay?
I think what a lot of people don't realize about these underground "markets" is that they are primarily reputation based, and markets that don't deliver or often scam customers get shut down pretty quickly. Usually people are very friendly and are very willing to help you with order issues to help their reputation, and having to pay by friends and family is extremely commonplace to protect the sellers. I know there's probably an impression that it _seems_ sketch because he keeps saying it's sketch but most of these practices are very normal for people who sell these kinds of things
I don't think its worth for them to scam when it's so easy to get items, it's better to just keep selling and get "loyal" customers who keeps coming back
Its illegal if you say its a thing you buy in minecraft. But you can make the purchace something else and the items in game are just bonus and a thank you for the purchace. Simple really.
