That's right. I'd been collecting hardcore since 1987 and this feels much like it. When the dust settles, there may be 10 stars with valuable cards for 2018-2010. I remember when Bobby Bonilla, Will Clark, Chris Sabo, Ron Gant, and David Justice were huge sellers and everyone had to have them. We live and learn, I just hate it for so many buying into this they way they are right now. Looking back now it was Griffey, Frank Thomas, and Ripken were the biggest locks from that early time of collecting. Then Jeter and Pujols. There just aren't that many that hold for the long haul. I remember when Travis Lee was supposed to be the next Canseco! Lol. And don't get me started on Brien Taylor....

@Justin Lehman if I could give one lesson I've learned over the years, collect what YOU like. Don't go for fads in collecting. Find what you have fun and enjoy collecting. From 2005-2012, I was literally spending 5k a month, which back then would pick up 5 cases of any bowman product. I never made it back. Then I dropped 15k picking up every Taylor Guerrieri bowman auto I could find. BUST! Guess what happened? I went back to my first love of collecting and have been having a blast. 1990s inserts! Back when they were way too expensive for me to purchase, they are now more affordable and they still retain their value. In fact, I could make so much more (If i still sold cards) selling these. Put it this way, I bought 5 1993 SP Jeter rookies all grades Beckett 8.5 for 25 dollars each! A 1997 ex cut above Griffey for 5 bucks. Now look at those prices. Just have fun with what you collect. That way you'll never feel like you've been ripped off or dig yourself in a hole. And be wise in spending. Its easy to spend spend spend and then wonder where the money went.

I agree. Been collecting since 86' and most big rookies get hurt or totally stop producing. If the card companies cant keep them on the shelves then its time to mass produce all different types of cards for maximum profit. Buy older cards 1980 and back. Those have proven hall of famers, rookies and error cards with very little speculation.🇺🇸

@@johnmcaleer9143 I agree with this too. Even though pre 80s cards are very bland and boring, they do retain value. That is......if you're looking for an investment. If you just want to have fun, I absolutely love the mid 90s fleer and ultra products. 95-98 UD is fun too. But like I said, I'm a 90s rare insert junkie. Lol. I have fun breaking boxes I couldn't afford when so young. The 1996 Donruss had some of the most cutting edge inserts and they didn't come easy. Box prices were 50 and 60 bucks. And if you didn't hit an insert you were just left with a bunch of commons. But now at 25, it's a deal after inflation is figured. Fun break if you hit something sparkly!

His 1st was in 2020 Bowman. This is 2020 Bowman Chrome. Technically different sets, so he's already had a Bowman card.
