Today we go and get the cheapest boat I could find from copart. Let me know what you guys think of the video and what we should do next with this boat !
As a guy who has spent countless hours and miles searching for a decent used boat under $10,000. I'm here to tell you that it's not easy. You are lucky if the boat looks anything like the pictures. Usually there's something wrong with the boat, motor or trailer. They'll tell you it's (water ready) I just love that one. You inspect the boat and find out the only thing working is the motor. No bilge pumps, cut wires broken switches, no lights and water in the bilge. Everytime I found a decent interior and working accessories the motor was broken. On the lucky occasion that the boat and motor were decent the trailer either was junk or had no registration to register it. I ended up going with an older boat that was pretty well kept up for most of it's life except the guy I bought it from. Thank god he only had it long enough to mistreat it for a short time. I have restored it pretty well and made it my own. The engine is a dinosaur 150 hp 2 stroke that runs okay and of course the trailer didn't have a registration so now I have to have it weighed to start the process of making it legal. I already replaced the bunks, wiring and lights. I didn't care about the older motor I plan on buying a newer one for it this winter. After all is said and done this boat will be in the $9000 re sale market. I paid $6800 plus another $5,000 buy the time I'm done. It will be a beautiful boat and I'm going to lose money but thats boating and I except that.
BIG oof on the motor lol that sucks man. Hopefully you found a cheap replacement! and you had the straps hooked on wrong on the back of the boat. there's spots above each swim platform to hook them to.
