Your content is so genuine. I can feel your love for biking. Thank you for making these videos and keep it going strong! ALSO you totally helped me out on picking out the exhaust.
I'm planning to buy a 2020 model, as soon as they gonna lift the lockdown over here in the UK, and I hope they didn't change anything with the measurements of the pipe, because this one is going on. Brilliant sound, great video. Keep safe mate
Ruben Alvarez I’m so glad I could help!! And thank you for using my link to buy the exhaust! Each time someone does that, I get $2.70, so you just bought me a beer tonight! Cheers! 🍻😂🙏🏻
@@LifeOfBurch Yeah man the video alone on adjusting the rear shocks helped a ton, exhaust comes in tomorrow so ill be given my rebel a nice wash and adjusting those shocks and slapping on the exhaust, thanks again! 🍻
This bike looks like a lot of fun. I want to get my endorsement and I was thinking I wanted a sport bike until I came across your video. The bike looks like it would be a lot more comfortable for daily riding. And it looks really good
@@LifeOfBurch I look forward to some more wheelie action! I've wanted to try the new rebel for a while but the 500 is hard to come by and I cant get myself to drop the cash on the 300. Lol.
The way the sound comes over the computer speakers, the new exhaust sounds like the 2012 ninja 250r I had bought my gf. I believe it had a two brothers exhaust as well but it had a very similar tone as your exhaust and changing gears and dropping gears, it burbled like crazy. Despite it being a 250, it still had its fun factor. I'm currently looking at the Rebel 500 as a near-future purchase. I'd love to be able to afford the 1100 but not right now. It's been over a year since I've been on 2 wheels no thanks to an accident caused by another driver not paying attention.
Hey man! I just came across your channels and I love the vids. I'm trying to get into riding now and I was wondering if the rebel 500 is a great beginner bike? I love the cruiser look and I plan on keeping it for awhile so having enough power and aftermarket support is important to me.
Hey Burch! LOVING YOUR VIDEOS. You seem to be a natural at vlogging! It'd be really cool if you could show how much fuel the Rebel 500 uses, especially for upcoming new riders like me! Thanks a lot for the content! I think with this already big stream of videos you're really going places with this channel!
Thanks so much for the kind words man! I really appreciate it!! 🙏🏻 I’ve thought about doing a video where I top off the tank and then ride until I run out gas to see how long it lasts, but I’m not sure how safe that would be so I’m still thinking it through 😂
the Musarri exhaust add on is nice too and you have the option to put the baffle in to quiet it more but have a better deeper tone over stock. Yes that catalytic convertor is still on there for the Rebel 500 and not on a 300 so that quiets it too. 199 Dollar so it is more money. fits the new rebels too 2017 plus
Broooo i just installed the new exhaust and was expected it to be quiet but shyytttt was i wrong doubled the rumble highly recommend especially for the price 💯
Ive just found your cannal and even tho you a smaller channal you put out better qualety content that bigger channals and your not trying so sound like sombody else if that makes sence. I can tell your vary honest about your reviews or what you say but i think imma keep your channal on my home page and one question. could the exhaust for the 500 fit on the 300 or did they makythe same one for the 300 if the 300 has difrent messurments ? I appreciate the quality content :)
Dude, I appreciate that so much!! Thanks for the kind words! 🙌🏻 As for the exhaust, it’s the exact same for the 300 and 500! Just keep in mind that any time you replace the muffler on the 300 you’re removing the catalytic converter because it’s in the stock muffler, whereas the 500 has the cat in the header. So the 300 ends up much louder.
LoL 😂 your funny liked your review. I'm going to be getting my motorcycle license with my dad here next month if they don't cancel because of the stupid Corona virus but I'm still deciding what bike I want to get I sat on a rebel 500 and was shocked about the price cuz I had never really knew that there was cheaper bikes out there their brand new until last year this year my dad kind of got my heart throbbing to get my motorcycle license and I just been looking at bikes that I want to get or try and shadow aero and Shadow phantom have been some of them that I checked out the rebel all of it Honda and Kawasakis I'm not really too much of a fan of Harleys though. But I enjoyed your video It was sweet how loud it made a difference with that small pipe
Has a deeper tone then my 250 Rebel. I cut the entire rear baffle off the stock exhaust with an angle grinder and the decelerate drone is pretty comparable. Don't think it had any popping though.
Basic engine facts..... K&N air filter for (More Air In) and the shorty exhaust (less back pressure.... and I'm sure it is lighter than the orginal exhaust) means a slight boost in throttle response and possibly 2-3 HP increase (maybe). Other benefit - cars around you are more likely to hear you and not swerve into you. Downside? Cops will hear you rev up and taking off and you will get their attention - possibly more tickets. Oh - and the neighbors will love you for being louder - especialy the elderly and sick neighbors that are having trouble sleeping.
Love the bike gonna get one soon, will you be changing the mirrors like upside down or endbar style? Thats the only thing i dont like about the bike haha
The Billy no, that’s not in the cards as of now. I like the way the flipped mirrors look, but I don’t want to have to look that far down to see my mirrors. I actually really like the placement of the stock mirrors from a view perspective. If anything I’d consider bar end mirrors, but that wouldn’t be happening just yet.
LifeOfBurch it’s all about what you like i respect that man, i guess because my dream bike is the triumph thruxton i like the bar end mirrors haha looking forward for your build ill be getting my 2020 rebel soon
Just got my Shorty today and was shocked to find how loud it was. Not my main reason for buying but a cool addition. Next find is a rear fender rack like that. Can't really find any that fit my 2020 Rebel.
Thomas Jamba Juice yea it’s definitely loud, but I love the sound! This fender rack is made by Hepco & Becker. A little on the pricey side compared to other fender racks, but the quality is incredible!
Sounds very nice mate ... certainly cheaper than the V&H UPSWEEP and in terms of the law of diminishing returns - is the V&H $300 better than the Radiant? Probably not ... so bargain!
Great vids you got going brotha , I subbed , question. I also have a Rebel 500 and when ever I leave it parked and exposed to the sun for about an 8hr work shift , with temps in the upper 80’s or more , the bike will turn right on but when I start to ride it , engine starts to cut off. It will do that for a few minutes then it goes away. Have u encountered anything like that ?
Thanks for subscribing dude! 🙏🏻 I’ve never had that issue or heard of anyone else having that issue. That sucks man, sorry! I wouldn’t even know where to begin diagnosing it unfortunately. Does it still do it even if you let it idle for a bit before riding?
LifeOfBurch Yea it’s weird , well I’ve let it her idle after start up for about a minute , Im gonna experience with letting her idle for a few minutes more before riding. I believe it has something to do with the fuel , smells a lot like it when left it the sun. Anyhow thank u 🍻
JayR Casta hmmm ok so here’s what I would check. I forget what they’re called, but your gas tank has a couple “purge hoses” (that’s definitely not what they’re called, but the name escapes me at the moment). If I remember correctly, there’s one that comes out of the bottom of the tank and one that’s on the top of the tank under the gas cap. They’re there so that when your tank heats up and the gases expand inside your tank, the pressure has somewhere to go. If the pressure isn’t releasing properly because one of them is clogged, then maybe it’s the built up pressure that’s affecting your bike until it dissipates. Next time you leave your bike in the sun for that long, open up your gas cap for like 10 seconds before starting your bike. See if that helps. If it does then you know it’s something to do with the pressure build up.
ofc it sucks .. its no better then open exhaust .. note to readers .. if they cant even give you right size for the nut .. its crap .. go Vance and hines .. or Ixil .. u cant go wrong with those 2
Just got mine for the CB300R..... It looks good but it's way too loud. Even with the cat/baffle installed it's crazy loud. I need to find a way to baffle it more.
Hi mate, I have the same bike and this shorty GP exhaust. Why the sound is different ? Every time I let go of the throttle, there will be a particularly noticeable sound of oil return and release from the exhaust.
I plan on getting a rebel to commute to work. It's about a 20 mile highway round trip, do you recommend the 300 or 500? i havent riden in 17 years and wonder if there is a big weight difference between the 300 and 500? I know their isnt that much difference when it comes to top speed, maybe 10 mph difference.
I have a Sony lavalier mic that I ran from my GoPro into my helmet and attached inside. If you check the description of the video there should be a link to the exact mic I use. Nice and cheap, but does the trick. If using a GoPro 5 or newer you’ll need to buy the microphone adapter piece from GoPro as well though.
Lmao in my defense it’s just my condo building’s parking lot aka my “driveway”, not a Taco Bell parking lot off the side of the highway like a Harley 😂
He’s pretty much running straight pipe I don’t could this a muffler..bad for the rings.probably lost on high end speed power, engine motor needs a back pressure from muffler at least.
unfortunately i think this would be illegal in the UK due to noise regulations, very stupid considering my electric lawnmower is borderline on the limit if it were a road vehicle :/
Dusk Shadowpaws trying to dig up some info on it now. The government webpage is, as usual, extremely helpful..... www.gov.uk/guidance/mot-inspection-manual-for-motorcycles/8-exhaust-noise
Don’t quote me, but it *should* fit! I know for a fact that the Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 both have the same diameter header pipe opening. And I know the Rebel 500 has the same diameter as the CBR500. So in theory, all 4 bikes *should* be the same size!
@@LifeOfBurch I check on their site and they have one specific for the CB300R. Buying it next month with the DB killer/mini cat. Exactly what I was looking for my bike. Thanks for sharing
Hi this is related to a video of yours saying you put an over-sized tyre on your VFR WATCH THIS VIDEO What's With Tire Width? | MC GARAGE should stick to 170 on the rear.
Thanks for recommending the video! That was informative. My rear is only 10mm wider than stock so there’s no noticeable difference on my bike fortunately. The 180 tire size is all that was available at the time if I wanted to have matching front and rear tires, so I went with it. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
It’s still going strong after a year on my Rebel 500 and two months on my Rebel 1100! Little bit of rust on the nut that tightens the clamp, but that’s it.
@@LifeOfBurch just curious looked like New York or Pennsylvania area. Most of videos people put out are from down south, good to see more familiar looking areas
Nope, install will be the exact same process! This will be a bit louder on the 300 than on the 500, but Radiant Cycles does sell an easy bolt-in baffle you can install if you find it to be too loud at first.
@@LifeOfBurch thanks for the info. Going to buy that for my CB300R, going for minimal cost and weight. I will be able to remove the nasty big ass oem muffler and the rear foot pegs.
I haven’t even looked honestly. It bothers me less than I thought it would. I’m sure it would be easy enough to find a black exhaust clamp on Amazon or something though. I may still do it in the future, but for now I don’t mind what it came with.
As far as I know, it will! The Rebel 500 has the same diameter as the Rebel 300, and I know this is the same diameter as the CBR500, so I’m assuming you’re good to go!
It’ll sound a bit different on the 300, and definitely louder since the 300 has the cat in the stock muffler, aka the cat is removed anytime you add a muffler on a 300.
Awoken I’ll take my chances. Plenty of people have put thousands of miles on bikes with slipons with no issues. But with that said, if my bike happens to blow up, I’ll allow you to come back and rub it in my face 😂
Wait, I'm just confused about something. Why would you ever want to sound louder? If you have a muffler that makes your bike less noisy, why replace it for one that makes it more noisy?
There’s also a theory that loud pipes save lives. Meaning that the louder the bike the more likely a car is to be aware of your existence but most of the data proves that it doesn’t actually help but some riders feel safer on a louder bike. I personally like mine quiet so my neighbors don’t hate me when I get home at night.
krutonsbproductions But it bothers other people. I spent about 600€ buying a reduced sound muffler, and altough it did cut the power a bit, I'm quite happy because harleys are super noisy. I just don't see whats cool about bothering other people.
What is the point in making a motorcycle intentionally louder? I understand that the kind of sound could produce different kinds of pleasantness. But the pure value of being louder as a quality? Constant loud sound produce stress and is unhealthy on the long run.
Sounds better, performs better, and cars can actually hear you to be aware of where you are on the road. It’s much less stressful to have a loud exhaust than it is to be hit by a car who doesn’t hear you next to them. As they say, “Loud pipes save lives.”
Not sure actually. The way I ride this bike I don’t really pay attention to the mileage 😂 plus, I installed this within a week of owning the bike so I wouldn’t really have anything to compare it to.
