Bought a 2006 HSE Jag for 4.4 for $5000 have had for over a year, did tranny Dif and oil change and has not popped one code in over a year and everything works. I was hesitant to pull the trigger for all the trash talk on range Rover but best car I ever bought.

Get a oil change done on the gearbox to see if it solves it. Don't continue if it doesn't. The worst rust will be under the sill covers at the rear if you can already see rust on the arch

Don't get a new compressor right away... make sure you get a new bag, and do a complete power cycle. Its possible that after detecting the leak that a safety stops the compressor from working. I'm not sure at what point they started doing that, but it works that way for modern systems.

I'd love to get an older range rover but the time and money to keep it going make it a no go for me. Looking forward to hearing how much it costs over time.

At £2k it's far from the cheapest out there. You probably won't want to go much cheaper though, there's some proper dogs out there that are cheap for good reasons!

You’ll get a lot of content from fixing and restoring that , especially the suspension of which I’d do a coil at conversion to future proof it

I had a P38 and loved it. Just bought a 2002 L322 vogue 4.4 petrol for £700 and it’s now with an transmission expert as gearbox over heats. Fingers crossed not to bad. I will find out tomorrow 👍 22 inch wheels are worth £500 👍 so should make money if I scrap it 👍😂😂😂😂

You can get a repair kit for the compressor really cheaply. Scottish fella on here sells them, saves hundreds!

Sounds like your compressor is okay, As soon as the car detects a fault (blown airbag) the car will cut power to the compressor, Only a workshop scanner can clear fault code and get working again. It's possible the trans fault could be the XYZ switch if it's driving as well as it is, which is quite common provided the trans isnt poked, Failsafe can come on anywhere from instantly to within 30 minutes of driving and sometimes doesn't trigger a fault on the dash, Normally if you have torque converter symptoms then this will likely need to be refurbed, Quite a cheap repair though compared to redoing the whole trans. With your coolant leak, Radiators are very common on this engine can can be replaced cheap enough, They tend to leak from the rear edges, You can generally see leakage with a torch, Given the age of the car it's also likely to be leaking from the valley pan gasket (inside the v) and related tube seals.

My guess of an m6 was wrong then lol. My mate had one just like this until a few months ago and it was a literal "money furnace", he spent £2k getting the gearbox fixed and then a month or 2 later the engine blew up, not to mention all sorts of electrical gremlins and problems with the air suspension. Hope you have a better time than he did, if not I hope you have a credit card with a high limit lol.

Id say one of your airlines popped out, either under the drivers side door or from the air bag itself, glue it and stick it back in and it should be fine. Air compressor will work again when you clear the faults, as you can see no lights are appearing on your height selector.

I picked up one of these 6 months ago. It also was losing coolant, intermittent gearbox safe mode... I bottled it and got rid :-(

This should be pretty interesting to compare with my experience of the cheapest 4.4 TDV8, BUT £2k isn't the cheapest for a V8 L322. I've seen them sell for well under £1,000 and that's without collapsed suspension 😅

We put coils on our one and it rides better than the air bags

You probably already know about this - but we had similar problems with the air suspension on our L322 - turned out it was the ecu in the passenger footwell - water had run down the sill (a common problem) and corroded it. We replaced the ecu with a second hand one off eBay then reset the codes - worked fine after that. Love ours - like driving a sofa - ours is lpg so not even that painful to fill.

You could control the airsuspension with BMW INPA, set it to whatever ride height you want, then unplug the #52 fuse, it will stay up there.

Anyone else immediately pause this video and jump on Gov.uk to check out the MOT history on this shed? Also just coil swap it and save the headache of replacing the compressor and bag...

by buying a range rover,you got your self a new subscriber from pakistan.coz we dont have these unreliable suvs here,we only have toyota land cruiser or prado,new,old,very old.old and very old are for mountain climbs,new ones for roads,coz the import duty is 300%,so basically new ones are equal to the price of bently benteyga.
