My first XJR. Well I'm excited! But is it all up to expectations or have I bought a lemon? Dr Jag takes a look!

Interesting! I've come across this video while researching an X350 XJ8 I'm looking at buying. It's nice to see Jaguar content from Australia.

What a great indy mechanic you have. He is worth his weight in Gold.

Absolute pleasure to watch. I wish I had a Dr Jag where I am in Ireland, I have a 2004 XJ6 X350 3.0 V6 that slightly hesitates maybe once or twice whilst the car heats up, after that, it's fine. I've spent thousands on fixes and new everything, but nothing has worked and to be fair, its minimal and I absolutely love the car anyway. I also have a 1990 XJS V12 5.3 which I love too. Again, I love the videos, thank you.

Thanks for the compliments Patrick! Those v6's are not that complicated suprised it has not been diagnosed?. Cold start injector maybe?

Informative video👍🙂...i have a 2004 xjr x350,ive done the x358 conversion which you can see on my youtube channel,lower arm bushes are notorious and on the early x350 the radar is expensive which i had imported over to uk from us..and got a noisy vvt knocking noise on startup recently..but still love it

Another excellent video Brett. It is always good to listen to people who know their products. I think your car is the same colour as my S Type - Sea Frost? A colour used by Jaguars of old and has always suited the varied body shapes.

Like you I didnt like the X350 shape when it came out, and was quite shocked by its bulk. Very quickly got used to it and when you rerally study the shape you can see wonderful attention to detail. I now have an XJR which is sadly off the road when I underestimated the task of replacing the seized AC compressor. I'm tempted to add another (simpler) X350 to the fleet as a daily, maybe a 3 litre.

They sell far cheaper in the UK, so I wonder if it is worth importing the right cars? Being Aluminium bodied, the risks far lower than older rust prone generations.
@tjmthejagmandownunder
@tjmthejagmandownunder Год назад
No not really, colleages tell me only poor ones go cheap. They still suffer corrosion under the paint and also severe rust on the underbody if driven in the salt. Good one still go for good money! I had an X350 import years ago which the under carraige rust was that severe that they had to cut bolts to remove them

That was an absolute steal to get for under 20k, mileage or not! Can’t even get x300 XJRs for that normally, even with similar km!

Think the x350's are still under valued

Brett,. Believe me if you had to do the work dr Jag will do on the car , you will prefer a simpler car. Anything after the the x300 is an owner's headache , even my x308 gets me worried at times . Sophisticated cars are only great while new and under warranty but I guess we are just suckers for JJJAAAGGGUUUAAARRR ! Great throttle sound on that too Peter

Pete I could do myself but it would take me weeks and would need to buy special tools. I'll let the professionals do this one! It's not hard just time consuming!

Good video, best with a Jag specialist rather than the dealer - In the UK the Main Dealers take the bloody mick with their prices...... Labour rate is £ 140 an hour.

I don't like the X350, to me it's not a Jag, ... Looks like a Ford Mondeo or the X-Type! ... You can't beat the look of an X308 XJR, last of the propper looking Jaguars!

Hi Dave Each to their own! I have owned an x308 R and now the x350 R and loved both But the x350 is a far more superior car. It's lighter, quieter, faster, and more advanced over a x308 Sure, it looks bulkier and x308 has lovely lines but have to disagree with you that it looks like a x 😁type

@@serhadcoban8699 the xj8 is built way better than the s type anyday but make sure is running good before you buy it and make sure nothing is leaking … if it has a air suspension I would negotiate lower so you can have more money to save up to replace it with strut master conversion to coils….. usually after I get a Jaguar it’s a 1500 dollar bill to bring it back to life… you need coil packs all new .. spark plugs.. transmission fluid and filter.. then I would run a oil catch can and it should run new again.. 2 years of owing my xj8 I put 3000 dollars but all worth it considering that I made that car fly 6 inches off the ground

@fernandomendoza8202 Год назад
@@serhadcoban8699 have you heard of the famous Jaguar black book that some jaguars have ?? It’s called the extended warranty book and if the Jaguar has it you buy it right away because it probably has had the timing chains redone by the dealership
