Thank you TJM for a well-balanced and positive tour through your XJS. Too often the car is bagged for all the wrong reasons. I may be biased of course - mine is a fine example - 87 model in Silver Birch - and everything works perfectly except the heated seats, which I can do without. What a lovely cruiser these beauties are when cared for!

Yank here! You are giving me energy to finish my AC on my 89 xjs conv. The AC is important, it cools the fuel returning from the plenum, heading towards the tank. All the seals were replaces on my 30yr old car, yes, engine also. When removed, they were hard as a rock. Heat soak. Love your car and the color.

As lovely as the v12 is , they are getting old and previous owners always get slack maintenance . They are the problem, the previous owners . If they bugger the cooling system in particular them it's a problem , dropped valves etc. I purchased a xj6 S1 recently, restoring her now, decided against the xjs for those reasons, but the xjs is still alluring.

Lovely to see TJM.. Silver Sand is such a Great colour.. The StarfIsh alloys seem to suit the coupe shape better than most though I wouldn't change Satin's Lace Alloys.. took it for a spin just yesterday and she loved it... Like you commented, super quiet, even in the convertible will be neat to catch up on the Border Run in a few weeks, ideal trip for such a Grand Tourer.. we'll have 7 travelling up in Convoy including an SC

They're a lovely car, for sure. We have two, an '88 and '89, both V12s but one has been converted to a five speed manual. We also have an XJ81, so V12s are a bit of a 'thing' for us. Even now they are probably still a little undervalued, but good examples are rising in price quite quickly. It would be good idea to find a chin spoiler to replace the one missing on your car, as it is actually a critical part of getting air through the radiator and engine bay - especially at highway speeds. The car might not overheat as such, but the electrical components in the engine bay start to roast very nicely without sufficient airflow. Just a quick note too, unless your car has been converted, all XJS HEs and early facelift cars had a GM three speed auto rather than a four speed auto that I think you mentioned in your video? It was only when the XJS switched to Jaguar's in-house 6.0 V12 that the later four speed GM4L80E auto was introduced.

Beautiful car, takes me back to my childhood & my dads XJS’s in the UK. One Little criticism is I don’t like the thick black coachline down the side of the car, it looks far better origional. The origional starfish alloys are a better look, in my opinion. This colour back in the UK, 80’s was called Antelope

I also do not prefer it. It was on the car when I bought it and been there for years. I am concerned if I remove it, it may damage the paint or be a slightly different colour due to the paint fade. It's also doing its job against door dents 😉 I always keep a set a starfish wheels just in case.

I had one, a convertible. They are indeed beautiful and I loved it, but despite having a good top and having all the weatherstripping replaced, it became a bathtub every time it rained and I sold it.

Great example. Mine is an ‘85 too with a 4 Speed auto. I was told the front spoiler is essential for good cooling so watch that.

I've had an 80 with a Chevy 350 conversion and an 84 v12. Loved the v12 best. So smooth. Pure joy to drive. Paid $1600 US and drive it for 5-6 yrs every day. The paint got really bad and unsightly and I couldn't afford an $8000 paint job so I sold it. I still have a few parts including the front spoiler. I guess I held on to the parts in hopes I may buy another xjs some day. I notice they are starting to really go up in value.

Those 16” wheels look like a tougher variation on the blobby Starfish alloys… I thought they were pinched off an XJ40, don’t know much about the ‘facelift’ models…

Great video which I have saved for future reference. In the UK I have my father's Bordeau red 89 HE, which is in storage. (I know not good for these) . Can you tell me why these have 2 water reservoirs, and importantly,. which one you should top them up by. I especially like your colour, which is rare in the UK.Regards Roger.

You are sure your beautiful car is a 1995 ? Normally from 1991 - 1992 the XJS has a complete optic face lift . Your beauty has to be optical vise HE before 1991 . Congratulations great car !
