No matter how you try to spin it, it’s still hypocritical in the end. As a completionist, I can understand the need to obtain it but making the stance you did in the beginning and in private going through the process to get it is very hypocritical. If there’s any item in the LC that deserves an asterisk, it’s this one. Either you have it or you don’t.
I’m sorry but this is just an excuse video. You’re a collector at the end of the day and you got the forbidden Zord. A Zord that is actually now high in value. Though you didn’t buy it out right you still weren’t truthful in my opinion. You still went to the measures of obtaining it by cashing in the coin.
People can buy what they want to buy. However, a part of the community decided they weren’t going to promote or buy into this megazord at all, which hurt a lot of us that are completionists. For those completionists that have stuck and will forever stick to there guns, this megazord will always be a hole in their collection. I hope this doesn’t encourage more people to buy the NFT for a black and gold dragonzord if Hasbro decides to do that…
I have a lot of respect for you and truly enjoy your content, but I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t disappointed in how you handled this situation. It is not so much that you bought the Megazord. It is the fact that you went through an alternate route to purchase this product, which you justified as still not technically supporting NFTs, but you didn’t share this method with your viewers. Some of us would have chosen to support you and follow in your footsteps, but you not only hid this from us, you got this rare item that is selling for up to five times its original value and paid less than original listing price to boot. Now fellow collectors and completionist who stood in solidarity with you are left with nothing, while you got a rare and expensive Megazord that you purchased outside Hasbro’s marketplace. I appreciate you being honest with us now, but I hope you will never do anything like this again. The truth will always set you free. On a lighter note, I feel like this whole incident sounds like a great idea for plot for a future episode of Power Rangers.

We all make mistakes, and I definitely understand the strong desire to not miss out on products when collecting. Your original stance on this particular product was the reason why I never pursued it. I will continue to support and like your content, but I just hope that you have learned from this experience and will strive to do better going forward. I think you are an amazing content creator who does incredible work, and you are an absolute staple in the PR community. You are the sole reason why I got into collecting Lighting Collection Figures, and you have been a wealth of knowledge on other Tokusatsu products that I enjoy. I only spoke up because I don't want to see your integrity take any further hits that could diminish your reputation or channel. I do still appreciate the fact that you were honest in the end. You could have taken this to the grave, but you chose to tell the truth in the end, so that says a lot about your true character.
Since you have said many times that you are a Lightning Collection completionist, a had a feeling that you would’ve found a way to get it eventually, and this process was definitely a good way to get without having to pay the absurd aftermarket prices. But… you probably should have told your viewers about this earlier, so you wouldn’t have faced too much backlash, but better late than never I suppose. Don’t beat yourself up too much for it. That’s the best way to move on. Besides, I wasn’t going to get it anyway because I’m not a completionist, but this would have been way worse if it were Dragonzord, or another ranger team’s zord, like the Dino Charge megazord or something like that. But since it’s a recolor of the first zord they were doing, it’s an easier one to pass up, in my opinion at least.
One thing we all know the new Gold Colors its amazing but man.... everything from this its just available if you get an NFT that probably lost all its value long ago ( dead on arrival ) making this release the most rare Lightning Collection toy ever
Hasbro's Quality Control is just awful. Like, you're terrified to transform and play with this thing, and that's like, a problem we never had with Bandai. Like, the original Megazord, we could be rough on those things and we'd never have to worry. It sucks that today things feel like they're Built to Break whereas in the past things lasted.
Hasbro isn't really worried about their power ranger sales,they have g.i.joe toys and a literal ton of transformers that thier selling ,one zord isn't gonna matter to them sadly.
Hell no, you'd lose bits real easy with the old toys. It's why most were barely articulated bricks. I also don't see many combiners being both articulated and sturdy, an issue Transformers have too. I'm cautious on the plastic used for the leg joints, but it's an opposite problem from what die cast brings.

31:00 The Bandai Black and White one looks *much* better. Just the way the Gold is utilized. The Hasbro Megazord head needed more paint around the faceplate. It being all Black on the face, just looks incomplete.

Anybody can say "hey transfer some money to my account and you'll get this digital spinny coin thing." And then you get this digital thing that you try and use...and it comes back with an "invalid" message. The seller is long gone, and you just wasted your money. I would never engage in such a transaction! I am surprised it worked out for him.
From the sound of it this nft project was probably more trouble than it was worth and hopefully it’s a one time system we won’t see again… hopefully the Zord gets a re-release
Josh totally get the not liking NFT side of things, same deal here not like it will not support it. But still if you could get something that you want in a way that you feel more comfy with absolutely fine. TBH i did not like the ZAP Zords in a whole at first, Dragonzord more then Dino Megazord it is to stylised but i bought Megazord on Sale for a price that i was comfy with and my opinion is now better then it was before. Also i gave it back because of factory issues, and i only had the chance to rebuy it but the price went up again so that might be a future thing. Astro Megazord looks crazy cool and i will get that one for sure. So hope you get happy with black and gold Megazord.

Okay, so here's the thing. While I understand where you're feeling guilty for buying something that goes against your own ethics. (While I personally think there is too much focus on ethics these days, and I think it's actually getting sad... I know you would disagree, and that's perfectly fine. You do you.) I mean, the reality of the matter is, while you didn't directly give your money directly to Hasbro for it, the person you bought it from, or at least somebody, did. And I understand that is why you feel the need to apologize... However, in the end, you did something that will, at least in the short term, bring you some joy, in your completion of the set, including this. And that is something for you, personally, to celebrate. You looked out for number one! And I am tired of people thinking there is something wrong with that. you did the best you could, on one hand you said you would collect every LC item, so this was inevitable, but it's good Hasbro didn't get a penny and even if you shared your method, not a whole lot more people would've got one, it's either what you did or get r*ped on ebay when they came out from resellers, so you dodge both greedy parties
it's kinda funny that they busted their ass to make the packaging so nice and do a run of at least 1300 of them, it's really a waste, I honestly wish they only sold 80 of them so they'd take an even bigger bath than they did on this "venture"
Tank mode in general is nonsense. The rangers never use it. It's a silly little form that I'm not surprised no one cares to make functional. NGL, was semi hoping it would just be a regular megazord in the box as the ultimate QC error. While this thing is rare. It's black plastic and cheap gold paint. It would have been far cheaper to produce these as they just needed mostly gold paint an a small amount of red. I am curious if Hasbro will release this normally for inevitable restocks. They could really sell Megazord over and over with different paint schemes. I disagree on the toy assessment. When you own the SOC, yeah this thing is a toy. It's just designed poorly designed in some key areas.
If it wasn't an NFT, it'd be worth it. You did the economical thing and got it cheaper "aftermarket." You still stuck to your guns and didn't get it as an NFT from Hasbro, even though you still did get it from them. You are also holding to your completionist mission statement for the channel. WAX blockchain is carbon-neutral, apparently much more energy efficient than the monstrous Bitcoin and Ethereum NFTs at large. But more than that the Zord NRT was a "Virtual in Real Life" NFT that lets one transfer ownership and keep a virtual collection representing physical items, so it doesn't take up physical space until you decide to ship it, which sounds convoluted and redundant at best.

@Mattimus Primal long story short Hasbro has enough money with transformers and all their other toy sales to be laughing all the way to the bank,they don't care about power rangers since kids aren't really buying the toys,heck I work in a Walmart and I can tell you our power ranger toys rarely get put out due to how bad they sell. Our hot wheels cars are outselling them at this point.
Couple things: the whole reason people like Hasbro wanted to do stuff like this is because they make some money every time the NFTs change hands so, you probably did give Hasbro some money by buying the NFT on that exchange. Second, it's a proof of stake Blockchain that uses 99.999% less energy than traditional proof of work (the ones killing the planet). So if your issue is the planet you aren't actually harming it by dealing in these WAX NFTs.
I see. That does make sense, regardless even if they got a bit of money from it I didn't give them the full amount they wanted and I'm glad for that. I know WAX are better alternatives than others out there but I'm still overall against the whole practice of NFTs in the first place. I have just seen enough negatives they have caused to not want to support any of them, though I can appreciate Hasbro at least went with them.

Being against NFTs is just ignorant. It’s like buying a skin in League of Legends. Just because companies are selling NFTs in a scammy way doesn’t mean NFTs themselves are evil. The environmental impact just shows you are completely clueless about the subject. Ethereum upgraded from POW to POS months ago, the energy required to maintain the blockchain is now a tiny fraction of what you guys think. If people scammed you with low quality, overpriced action figures, would you hate that scammer, or would you hate all action figures? If you still dont get it, NFTs = action figures in this case, they are innocent.
I understand the distaste for the nfts, and I also understand that you had to get this as a Lightning Collection completionist, so there’s no problem with that. In my opinion at least. I will admit, I kinda wanted this version if there was any way of getting it without having to deal with the nft stuff. Although it’s very likely that I’ll never own one anyway.
