I like how to second row of seat you can pull that little thing down (I can't describe it). But the cupholder in the middle seat of the second row. I love it, oh also it is an Eddie Bauer package.
I have one it actually has like 10 total. I heard there was a upgrade that would bump that to 11 to hold the record for most cup holders in any car ever.
"Look at this little Hyundai right here. Ohh it's so cute." ... as he proceeds to come up fast behind it like he's gonna run it over like a monster truck.
@@MallocFree90 well it's not mine, i drive an Alfa romeo 147. And also no, that car did 25km tot the litre on the highway. Or 4L on 100Km. And that's petrol, not diesel.
"8 full size Doug Demuro's" Americans will measure with everything but the metrics system Please stop having conversations in my replies cause it's filling up my notifications.
My dad had the 6.0 Excursion when he was towing large loads for his old business. My mom, and later my sister, drove me, my brother & some of our friends to school in it during winter. My sister said it was like driving a boat; my mom said it was like driving the _Titantic._ 😂
@@huningtonsachs9043 I love mine so much. Did you end up getting it tuned and decatted? I put a LCD Edge Tuner on it. Gained a TON of power, and since I'm in Michigan where they don't do inspections or smog test, I took out the cat and opened up the piping from the headers back to 4in all the way back to some nice black stainless steel tips. Even though it made a ton more power with the tune, it actually started getting better fuel mileage at about 15-16mpg on the highway (compared to the 10-11) I was getting before 😍 plus the 4x4 works sooooooooo good everywhere I've been.
I have a 2005 4wd V10 Excursion too. I'm sure the 7.3l Diesel is a great beast of a motor, but personally, I just prefer the big block gas powered V10's sound. I only carry my 2 daughters with me, I put less than 10k miles a year on it, and I don't pull anything with it. So having a diesel isn't a huge need for me. This V10 is very reliable and plenty powerful enough for my needs. I took out the 3rd row so my 2 girls have a huge play area whenever I'm parked anywhere. 👌😁
For anyone reading this, it's not a joke. It's so heavy, if you put more than 2 people in it you need a semi truck license. Max weight for a normal license is 3500kg.
@@gottogame1376 only if you (the driver) weighs 85kg (or less) and you're driving alone. In other words you'll be driving more than 3,5t most of the time, lol
Motorcraft doesnt make a difference lol. We have a 7.3 with 1.3million that gets serviced every 5k and has used only napa filters for the past 600k miles. The only thing that needs to be oem is sensors.
@@huntdapuncake00 oh I know, I have had several 7.3s, I just figure for a non diesel guy it would be easy for him to remember. I could into full thesis mode on that HEUI system lol.
Dan//, correct. I’ve never understood everyone’s fascination with them. Yes, they will last a long time but they are completely gutless. Had a small f250, regular cab, with a manual, that thing was more gutless then my 4 banger s10 😂. But you could row gears like a maniac and still be doing 15 under speed limit just about every where you go.
My dad has a 2005 Ford Excursion with the triton V10 and with 181,000 miles it still runs great and has a great exhaust tone, we have had it for 7 years and no issues, we got new spark plugs at 150k miles but there has never been a check engine light on it.
@@BeverlyDTV The Clear Lake versions may have had real gold lace within the wiring harness. I looked at homes there and you would think the toilets only filled with artesian water.
Nah man, when his woman talks, he listens. Take the dog out for a walk, he stays out with the dog. Gotta listen, she gonna own all of his shit one day.
It actually sucks because most people tend to fixate on, and pace (drive next to), large vehicles. If I had a dollar for every time some inattentive asshat went out of their way to camp out in my blind spot I could've got my Bulletproof Diesel mods for free.
psygnale My grandfather's '95 F350 attracted the same sort of followers. I think they figured that, in the event of a crash, they could take shelter behind the massive scrap truck. Of course "boy, there sure was a lot of speed bumps on the road today" pretty well summed up his attitude and he'd just change lanes regardless. We've all wanted to do that, I think...
7.3 diesels are up in price and still running amazing. Now lets see how long before he starts adding programmers and chips and the larger exhaust and really tunes it !
Bought a V10 version in 2000. We had 5 kids and this could hold everyone and lots of luggage. Great for traveling. Still have it! Very powerful, reliable and so roomy.
@markasread4349 We never had any major engine or transmission repairs needed. Replaced the rear end after many miles. We had well over 200,000 miles on it. The only issue that I couldn't resolve was it kept draining the battery, so I traded it in. This occurred in the last year, but was fine until then.
Andrew Butler we had one for work and some idiot filled it up with gas TWICE! We drained the tank each time, filled it up with diesel and it ran like a champ. That thing truly is bullet proof.
we have a 2001, 7.3. we crashed due to trailer brake failure and we went through 4 cars. our frame is perfect, airbags went of and front end is a little smashed up. it has 300k miles and we still are repairing it. that’s how special and loved excursions truly are.
I see a BMW M Coupe in the background yet I can’t seem to find a video? I had one of those years ago and is still one of my favorites, I look forward to a future video. Love the channel.
I have a 2000 Excursion 4x4 Limited 7.3 I bought in 2012. It had just over 220,000 miles when I bought it. We now have 330,000, I have a company vehicle I drive daily, which is why it has 330k instead of much more. Worst mileage I ever got was 11MPG pulling 8k load into the wind. It’s nice that we can go on long trips & not have to fill up as much, we could easily go 600 miles without filling up. More than I could say about our bladders.
I've always admired these monsters. But I have no use for one. BUT!!! The high point for me was.................... FRANK the GOOD BOY was in nearly the whole video!!!! Man, I'm loving yer pup, Ty!!! Good luck keeping the tank full on this beast!
I've never actually been hands-on with one of these, only my second time ever seeing one. Fun little story in the early to thousands. Somebody rented one of these and went full on grand theft auto with it. Police were unable to do anything and powerless to stop it. I forget how many million dollars in damage. The man caused during his rampage. Was in Halifax guy was mentally unstable and was trying to commit suicide by cop. Problem was, the cops were no match for this super SUV. It's part why they ended up ordering a special armored vehicle for the department. I forget how many cop cars. This guy total bouncing them off like little bugs when they tried to do their Trained pit maneuvers and so forth. This guy blissfully just went from vehicle to vehicle swerving right and left, hitting everything in his path. They basically had to some degree box. The guy in to one part of the city and wait for him to run out of gas or get stock. I forget if he ended up getting one of the wheels jammed on something or ran out of gas. In the US. Obviously they would've just riddled it with bullets at their earliest convenience but being Halifax, Canada. The cops don't do that kind of thing here. I Thinking in the US, this guy would've been so dead in minutes.
I was going to say that if this happened in the US, the local agency would probably have set up spikes at some point to try and slow the thing down. If that didn't work, depending on the agency would get an armored truck to box it in to a degree. However, the most simple option would be to shoot the guy, which is sad to say in itself. The reason I say it with confidence, and like how you said, is due to the fact that if someone hits cops in an obvious attempt to hit them, or try to hit them, lethal force will be authorized, as he is not only now putting the normal people at risk, he is also putting officers at risk.
I own a 2005 Excursion 4wd with a V10. Contrary to this guy, I think the V10 is also a great engine at least for this 2005 model year as that spark plug issue I believe was resolved by Ford. And I grew up around muscle cars so I do love the sound of a gas-powered big block V10. 👌
7.3 turbo diesel is one amazing engine. They are very hard to overheat, even with a blown water pump... plus upgrades. Race transmissions, Banks turbo, turbo management systems.
Aside from the noise. They rattle like all hell. I put on my ears if I have to do anything under the hood while it's running. Or my tinnitus will ring like a doorbell for the next two days.
The average car has a cooling system capacity of about 2-3 gallons give or take. The 7.3 Super Duties/Excursions have 5 gallon cooling system capacities. The average car has an oil pan capacity of anywhere from 4 to 8 quarts give or take. The 7.3 Super Duties/Excursions hold 15 quarts in their oil pans plus about another 3 quarts running through the motor and high pressure oil pump reservoir. So it's no wonder this engine stays so cool. It's got so much self-cooling capability it's almost insulting to even need a water pump. In fact, there's an aftermarket thermostat made for these engines that are rated hotter than stock for certain applications.
@@chickensfloat7427 I love my 7.3 it's just very loud for my old ears. I'm just making conversation. And speaking for the 7.3 International engine. It's strong and well made.
My dad has owned his 2004 Excursion since new, and it’s still an amazing truck. It even looks new (with the exception of the trunk door handle that our dog chewed up back in 2011)
Great giving kudos to Ford for improving the engine...except the 7.3 wasn't a Ford engine...it was a Navistar T444E, straight out of your local school buses and other medium-duty trucks.
And the Duramax for anybody who cares is nothing more than an Isuzu engine out of Japan. . Always has been probably always will be. Izuzu has been making excellent diesel engines for 60 plus years.
Me and five friends packed into one of these v10 models for a road trip from Texas to California. It was one of the guys’ mom’s truck. Only condition was we needed to have it detailed after the trip. It was such a great trip!
Because modern day journalists want every single car to feel sporty and feel good in the corners and have a good nurburgring time and have racing bucket seats.. it's literally retarded.
I remember when one of these became stuck in my driveway. Our home was in the forest on a snowy, angled, icy driveway at 8,300 feet altitude. The owner of the EXCURSION was sheepishly embarrassed, as we helped him for a couple of hours to remove the behemoth from our driveway. Our GX470 and Montero however were fine, as usual.
I was wondering where was Hoovie and what car mistakes did he made now, 1 minute later, here he is and he couldn't have bought something more perfect! 😂😂
My dads had one for 6 years, been having to put a lot of money into her but starting it up and listening to the 7.3 whistle is something else. Refer to it as the beast for a reason.
I loved them since the day they came out. I finally bought one last year.. The V10, and I absolutely love it. I def plan on buying another V10 within the next 1-2 years.
when I used to sell cars had a guy trade one of these in for a 4 runner! the Excursion was sold in under 10 days! that 7.3 is a great engine! these trucks are well loved, there is nothing like them made today.
I worked at a Ford dealer when these first came out, the V-10 was much quicker off the line and around town, and sounded amazing as well. The 7.3 was more powerful on the freeway and on grades because of the torque. He is wrong about the V-10 blowing plugs, that was the early model V-10's (no Pi heads) the excursions only had the V-10's with the Pi heads which had more power and didnt blow out the plugs. Also the V-10 is a very durable and reliable engine
Can you name the truck with four wheel drive, Smells like a steak and seats thirty five? Canyonero! Canyonero! Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down, It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown, Canyonero! Canyonero! 12 yards long, 2 lanes wide, 65 tons of American pride! Canyonero! Canyonero! Top of the line in utility sports, Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts! Canyonero! Canyonero! She blinds everybody with her super high beams, She's a squirrel-squashin', deer smackin' drivin' machine, Canyonero! Canyonero! Canyonero! Whoa, Canyonero! Whoooooaaaa!
i couldn't believe my ears when he complained about this car taking 40 gallons of fuel and took him JUST a bit over $100 damn how cheap fuel is in your country. In australia we pay a dollar 75 cent per litre for 98 octane and 1.65 for diesel per ltr so AUD 249 is the amount i'd need to fill up this monster
I’ve been waiting for the Excursion to catch your eye Hoovie. I’ve owned my 7.3 Excursion SuperDuty for over a decade. Little over 400,000 on the clock. Doing a turbo swap on it as it’s still more valuable than my other cars combined lol.
@@JTBCOOL1 GT38, or wicked wheel upgrade, or do something custom. I'm going custom: polished and upgraded Garrett. Best part is you don't need a massive lift, just a step ladder to get yourself up on top of the motor, the swap is doable yourself. Unhook the Y-pipe/splitter and get the turbo free of the pedestal and inlet/outlet. Replace the seals and pop the swap on. Easy like pie. Easier if you have two people to remove the hood for better access.
You should do a vlog about your truck Jeremy. I get excited every time I see one of these Excursions on the road. Surprisingly there are still quite a few of these on the road here in Texas. I see a few every week. I’m glad people still appreciate these awesome rigs. It’s like the big boss daddy of SUVs.
Luis Salcedo having worked with my dad at a Car lot. I’ll tell you that a 7.3 is a great motor probably the best diesel ford ever made I can’t recall the tranny but the trucks motor last 500,000 miles. And the old saying that 150,000 miles is barely breaking it in.
I own a 7.3 with just shy of 300k miles. It’s stout, transmission is good as long as you don’t romp it too much. I just had to replace mine because I can’t keep my foot out of it for that sweet sweet exhaust noise.
The Ford Excursion is definitely a large truck type vehicle. I noticed when the weight was given as 7600 pound that the Ford Excursion is over twice as heavy as the car I drive. I like the statement fits 8 full size Doug Demuros.
