In Tokyo, "prosucc" is said to be the fastest car on the Metropolitan Expressway Shutoko including Wangan. Equipped with great power by twin turbos with quotas and deadlines, and burning gasoline and lives, it is overworked!
I'm so excited you're modifying the prosucc, I appreciate this so much. Dead honest, what i like EVEN more than typical iconic and hyped cars everyone buys and modifies, are the odd commuter cars no one would think of touching. Buying a affordable car that any average joe could buy and making it yours, THIS IS WHAT IT'S ABOUT. This is what I truly appreciate about car culture, this is what it should be about and what makes it special.
It's cool about car culture that every country has THE car that built the whole thing. There's only a handful of models worldwide that achieve a level of social importance because they were *the* cheap useful car that everyone who needed to get shit done got.
huge agree. i do love the heyday japanese sports cars, the classic restorations etc, but making something like this cool - and possibly go round corners fast - is what I really love about cars.
The metal thing in the back left looks like a server rack rail (used so you can get at the server "modules" when they are mounted, they slide out like a drawer) Also knob too small, relatable lmao
I just spent 2 months in Japan, helping my friend at his dealership... doing mechanic work/shaken/auctions etc.. In Japan when people/companies give up their cars to be sold off I find it so odd HOW MUCH STUFF they leave in the car. Mostly CDs, cell phone holders/chargers, and other personal items... One time in a trunk of a JZX was a whole tool bag (with tools) and spare parts for the car (headlights and tail lights) and a bunch of Drift Tengoku magazines. Kind of a weird glimpse in to somebody's life, or if it was some company vehicle.. figuring out what the company did.
i loved that little "introduction" nomu jr. did lol, also that part where he tried the shift knobs just left me like 😦the entire time LMAO but fr i love the new video style he's doing now, with the (old) top gear-like intros and the music/informative narrations he puts over b-roll sometimes...cant wait to see more, this is genuinely one of my comfort channels.
14:20 I'm just imagining that there is some JAV out in Japan that has an actress.......mounting said shift knobs Alexi got. That's why their "popular."
That table reminds me of my old super custom hiace. The center console had a fridge with an ice tray in the coldest part, plus a canteen kinda thing that would heat water to just below boiling (cos it was plastic). It was so Japanese. One speaker am radio tho. That's a bit rough.
Really love how we got more of the scenery of Japan and you just doing mundane things, I know this is a car channel but I really enjoy seeing some everyday stuff like you eating cup noodles and that lol, it's a nice change of pace and oddly entertaining
@@kevinmenard6792 I tried searching for it but I haven't found it sadly. Maybe Alexi could help, he also talked about it in a video/stream iirc. I'll try to find it nonetheless and if I manage it I will answer you on here.
@@kevinmenard6792 I found it! It even has English subtitles and is on the DRIFT STATION channel! 2014 Vol 85 part 1 - All Japan Student Drift Championship, min 7:00
Damn! It gives me the vibes like these small cars that people use to go for camping. It seems amazing as a multipurpose car. My dream is to just move up to Japan, buy one of these cars, and start road tripping and camping on it. I can't wait to see the changes you are going to make on it!
I've talked with my friend literally today, and I asked "what reliable and cheap van/MPV should I buy?". And he told "Probox", then explained that it's literally the simplest and cheapest option, while being extremely reliable. Thanks for the video!
The production quality is off the scale, seriously hats off to you. Can’t wait to see more on the Problox! Suspension, wheels/tires, brakes and a proper cat-back exhaust (maybe TRD?) would be sick!
i LOVE the videos of routine day to day stuff around japan... like buying drinks from machines, or going out to buy parts for cars etc. it just so natural and wholesome.
The intro use to remind me of a anime intro, now due to the narration it reminds me more about the old BBC Top gear. Pro succ, brilliant. Personally I would do what you want to do. (Lower, rims & tyres), and then keep the roof rack and the old stickers. Then it looks like a van that does work, but has been modified. Also great storage spot on the roof.
@@XxmatixX6videosdiariosdenadav im not sure they are that reliable. Maybe? But ive never seen one with more than 258,000km on it when it arrived at a scrap yard. (kangoo's) we dont have the peugeot here in aus as far as i know. Our small "panel vans" of the era were the holden/opel/vauxhall combo (like a barina/corsa but a van) and the kangoo.
I stumbled on to ProBoxes by accident a few years ago on a Japanese auction site and have been wanting one ever since. Was super stoked to see you grab one and definitely excited to see what you do with it.
I want it, as it lets you travel forward in time... Roof rack off, rear seat out, brakes, wheels & tyres, intake and exhaust. That'll be a good start. Onya Alexi!
I think it would be pretty funny if you pulled this thing into your new shop and tried to install a bunch of mods using just a small universal tool kit in your empty shop... unless you already bought a bunch of tools lol
I really loved this video ! so chill getting a coffee and enjoying a rainy day on the Hakone pass. Can't wait to go there myself one day, maybe in a ProSucc
How far are you willing to take this @noriyaro - the old Volvo 850 BTCC livery would fit perfectly, except replace SECURICOR with PROSUCCAR on the front :D
i love how this car is at the same time so bland but it screams potential, i can see why its the companies car of choice, you could make this an ad on wheels you should make it into a itasha
The kabuki sound effect moment at 7:31 was wonderful, I also loved it in the recent RX7 video but after hearing it again I ended up spending like an hour learning about kabuki theater and I just wanted to say thank you for that lololol
I know you said you were going to do more videos showing off Japan and it's sights and even though the weather wasn't the best I did appreciate the first part of the video when you were at Hakone. Hope to see more videos in that kind of style!
Hi alexi, i know the turbo upgrade is more common and more easier to find. But few years a go Hot version did an episode with Supercharged fitz with (1NZ-FE engine), it generate a lot of good comments and they say it helps the small engine to climb mountain road better. The supercharge kit is made Blitz and looks pretty complete pack. thanks for the video
I own a similar Toyota in Thailand. It is called "Avanza" and is basically a tall station wagon. It's narrow width is perfect for small streets and its high clearance is great for flooded streets. I have dual fuel (LPG-gasoline) on it, it's a great little workhorse.
