I will definitely be buying one. Can you buy one in game with in game money?

If it didn't have the freelancer dur or dragonfly and subtracted the costs of those ships it would be worth it for me. I just don't see a point in those on top of everything else.

So I’m a very old player returning recently. I would be cautious because the carrack can’t do all game loops, specifically salvaging which has high yields at the moment. You can only due cargo runs at terminals because you can’t manually load the cargo bays currently. So just don’t let the allure pure you in. Know what you wanna try out (cargo hauling can get repetitive). That being said I wouldn’t recommend carrack for new players since a lot of its functionality is not implemented with no eta, and other ships are going to net you more fun at the end of the day.

Depends on your end game. I'm not looking to crew large ships to go into war. I'm a casual player who likes to explore and rather run/die than engage in combat alone. All depends on your own personal preference.

At this stage in Alpha I don't think it really matters. We just have to wait for stability patches. The game stutters for me as well from time to time and I'm on a pretty powerful system with a 3080.

Maybe have a talk with you father? For me it was an investment in something that I enjoy doing and that keeps me going through the days. It's relaxing for me and an investment towards my mental health. I made a conscious choice buying this and still have investments for other personal stuff. You can always say it's a bad investment on stuff you don't understand or sympathize with, that doesn't mean it is a bad investment for the one that spended the money. People put more money into other hobbies and interests like horses, cars, tech stuff etc. I put them into games. But ultimately, if it worries you that much, have a talk with him. Maybe he can explain how he feels about the game and how much he thinks it's worth for him. Peace

@@SirMadsen I guess the worse case scenario is you can sell your account to get a return on investment if you no longer enjoy the game. The only risk is them closing the doors and you lose that money. Personally I invest in fixed blade knives. Those sell rather well if things get tight.

Hmm, might be just on the short side but then again. I played it on my old 1080 laptop (lowest settings and capped frames). The game is however pretty CPU intensive so it might bottleneck if you don't have the CPU to back up your GPU.

Hmm. I actually think you will be fine. You can use the official tool from RSI to compare hardware and roughly place yourself and see how the game will run. Go to the link and find some hardware that are comparable by clicking the squares. The purple dot is minimum requirements and the green are recommended. I did a fast check and from what I can see you should be able to run at least at minimum, which would be 1080p and get at least 50 fps. All this is of course dependent on where you are in the game. Flying in space doing solo missions will require less hardware while the busy starbases with tons of detail will naturally require better hardware. robertsspaceindustries.com/telemetry Also bare in mind that the game is in alpha and can only improve. So if you buy it and can't play it, nothing stops you from playing later when stability patches comes or you get better hardware. It's really hard to recommend alpha games because so many factors matter and I don't want to be the reason to you buying something you can't run. So please watch some videos of Minimum Requirements.
