Brilliant stuff! Love this generation of 911, the 993 isnsuch a lovely shape. Absolutely agree that massive power/speed isnt necessary, tactility and atmosphere is much more important in the real world on normal roads. I'm a TVR head for exactly the same reasons as Alex likes this Porsche. Simple, raw, exhilerating, good honest drivers cars. Long may they live. ❤

I totally get it. I did the same thing in the middle of the pandemic in the USA. I've wanted an LT1 powered Buick Roadmaster wagon since I was a kid and the time spent sitting around home with nothing better to do got the better of me and I drove 4 hours away to buy one. It's been my daily ever since and I do forgive a lot of little niggles with the car, but the noise it makes when I tromp on the throttle and freight-train an on-ramp in a 4200lb, 18ft long car with wood stickers on the side of it, makes it all worthwhile.

Congratulations. My dad attained his dream of buying a 911 about 10 years ago and still has it. Although he went for a low mileage 996 carrera 4 as it was still a cheap car to buy when he had the chance

Excellent choice of car, I had a lovely 993 2S with low mileage for 10 years, totally loved it, but alas I needed to release the cash....still regret it 😪😪 Get the suspension sorted by Centre Gravity, it totally transforms it. Also, changing the clutch slave cylinder lightens it massively, the amount of crud that came out when I flushed it!!

Congratulations 🎉 What you said is bang on! One week I was fitting ceilings and the next week I was fighting for my life in a coma with covid, which I spent 6 weeks in and a further 10 weeks in hospital learning to walk again. Once out of hospital, I bought a Porsche and boy did it help with my recovery. Like you said Alex it all about the smile 😊 and the way it makes you feel!

My achievable dream car has always an E46 M3 why because NFS Most Wanted. I can say I am now a proud owner of an e46 M3 after working non stop for years. I also got lucky getting it before the prices went up during covid.

These will last 350,000 miles and still run great at that point as long as the maintenance is done. Where things start to get tricky is as the mileage depreciates the value people start taking shortcuts. As long as you treat it like a high end sports car it will last you another decade at least...plus this is an air cooled model so there's 1 less thing to go wrong.

The best looking 911 ever, and the last real one. Air cooled engine, and rear tail lights below the rear wheel arch. You feel as if you can walk onto the car, which you should with a 911. P.s. the 993 Carrera 4 and 4S have the wide Turbo body minus its rear wing. In many enthusiasts views these are the best looking 993's. Congratulations on your glorious achievement. Never sell this car. Take it to the half million mile mark.

Love the realness of this channel. A nice fella and his friends doing carstuff with cars from the period I love them the most. Great pick this 993, awesome color and a smart move to get a driver with miles so you can just add to them without having to second guess if you should, when it was a garage kept low mileage example. For those wondering about location, this was filmed at the Rhigos mountain, literally where the South Wales Valleys meets the bottom of the Brecon Beacons. It’s one hell of a road (despite the potholes and surprise bumps) and that is a hell of a car. Absolutely well done Alex, I hope you love and cherish it, it’s so good to see you’ve been able to achieve your dream!!

Congratulations! I'm in a similar situation. Just turned 40 earlier this year, and managed to buy my dream car with a 991.1 C2 a few months ago. Put quite a few miles on it already over several road trips. Plan to keep it forever, drive the hell out of it, and maintain it well. Enjoy! You've earned it!
