I bought this GMC with plans for it that I cant tell you about till the next video. I bought this car to try to get it running again. this is the video. enjoy
As someone who lost his father few years back and no brothers, I totally appreciate Isaac's comradery with his siblings and his love for his father. I know as a headstrong young man 10-12 years back, how much difficult it is to raise the kids right. Now in my late thirties, appreciate the old man for his sternness and his love for the family.
I love the fact that you always remember your dad at the end. As a veteran I really respect you for honoring your dad by hanging his combat boots from the rafters. The longer I watch your videos, the more I think of you. You are a very admirable person. Keep up the good work and I'll see you soon.
Put the o2 sensor in place, it doesn't matter if the sensor is bad, some cars need correct pressure in place. Sorry for your lost, greetings from Venezuela.
Cam sensor bad can cause this. It's on the back of the motor close to where the distrib would be. Also could be the crank sensor. The TPS sensor would cause the motor to rev uncontrollably and IAC valve.
Lost my dad on 11 Oct 2021. My heart goes out to you and your family. He was a key to a large family that no one realized until he was gone. He was the baby of 8 kids. Lost 3 more uncles from the family in less than 5 months after he died. It has been rough on the whole family. I'm a Vet and my dad made sure that my retirement years wouldn't be a struggle from me. The property is Generational here and my daughter is next in line to take over. I just hope I can bring her the peace and security that my dad gave me. Great watch, Brother.
Your Definitely going to Cam it . Obviously it backfired and blew a hole in intake. No air box and sensors hooked up not helping it out any. Will be tuning in to see u get this old girl running. Those engines are good but notorious for failing oil sensor as well 👊🏿
Excellent video. Sorry about the loss of your father 😢... I thank your father for his service.. I lost my father a few years ago.. I still miss even after all this time. May God look over you and your family.
From my family to yours. Our deepest condolences to you and your family man. One thing that makes me extremely nervous is that they rebuilt the transmission. Might be worth having a look inside the transmission and make sure the end play is to spec. And to make sure that the internal harness is connected. That engine sounds healthy despite the intake.
That poor little GMC... it can read your mind and is saying "Hell NO! I'm not doing that!" :) You've got more than the normal twinkle in your eyes which leads me to believe that what you're thinking of is going to be radged... can't wait !! ;0 x
I'm sorry for your loss. Your parents did a fine job raising you and your brother. Your dad will live forever in your hearts. The best to you and yours.
From what I can hear when you tried to start this GMC, I'd say that you got a timing issue, or the firing order is wrong. your suspicion about the Cam Shaft maybe correct. but the wrong firing order can cause this too. I'd pull the spark plugs, and make sure they're alright, considering how long this truck has been sitting. And maybe put some fresh gas and oil in it. Sometimes stale gas can cause cars to run like Dukey, like this particular truck.
Love to see your bro, what a team. Looks like this was once owned by Cleetus McFarline and had James Taal the duke of nitrous standing near it. Really enjoyed going through this with ya'll.
I am definitely looking forward to your next video seeing what you have planned for this vehicle. I like the idea of hanging your dads boots as a way of paying respect to your dad
I was the engine mechanic in a wrecking yard at my last job for 32 years before I retired. Over the years I replaced the plastic intakes on many engines due to backfire damage.
The combat boots is a nice touch. You and Your brother are two very lucky men to have a Dad in your life. Not to many of us have that sort of blessing. My Dad was not so much in my life,... thus my name RU-vid name, SanchosKid,... Not ashamed. But I do know who my Dad is. And I Love him. He knows it. Thanks for the content.
Isaac it's cool that your brother has come to help you out. Family is important. Father's are so important they teach you things that you will remember for the rest of your life. God bless all the fathers here and not.
Hey guys I think I would have done the same thing with the boots that way and both of y'all Hearts he's always hanging around I wouldn't have the heart to throw them away with love the video and I'm waiting to see what's wrong with that GMC
i would get injectors also with the intake could of had one suck open and thats what happen to it. that could also be why the o2 sensors are out . the cat being stopped up could of made it run hot on one cylinder . just throwing some things out there to look at. cant wait to see what you have planed . great video ike ..rip for pops
Hey man was watchin your video and noticed that your havin some misfiring issue at start up. Make sure on that driver side where you put all the coils and stuff back on and stuff that you have the coil harness running to the correct cylinders because they can be ran backwards! Happened to me on my 5.3 hope this helps!
Your Dad would appreciate what you did with his old boots. If I was working on it I'd replace the missing oxygen sensors and the intake , try to find out if they make a metal intake for it .😂😂
Oooh I love it! I e been looking for one of these! If you need any help with the gauge cluster or PCM, just let me know! I’ve been watching you and the guys for years and I’d love to help out!
Brother man treat yourself to an early Christmas present and get a car lift. Sell an old car or two if you have to. You have so many vehicles that it absolutely makes sense😁. It would save you so much time and energy. I think you are right the engine is probably OK and just needs a new intake.
I like when brother gets in the show I wish I had a brother like him Ike I been fighting my starter recently and your video helps. I wonder when Ike is gonna surprise brother with a car or what brother hot rod he got? Great show Ike thanks for posting.
My 2005 Envoy XL Denali dropped a DOD lifter and wiped the cam. Also had multiple issues with oil pressure sending unit. I believe cylinders 1 and 7 were most prone to lifters collapsing.
so sorry about your dad issac , i lost mine 4 months ago today , i wish i had of spent more time with him before he passed, it was a shock to us and am still struggling with it today, we are only here for a short time so please value the time you have with the ones you love.
Excellent Video Issac :) also glad brother Jason help out on this vechile too and would check Junkyard or Wrecking Yard for that intake part or low miles 5.3 Vortec motor just in case need replacement this old motor plus wire harness for motor too! Also like no whats going this motor too because that high Rev and rumbling sounds not common on this motor only on cold start then smooth out low idle !
Hey Issac, Mechanic RU-vidrs like you, ChrisFix,Papadakis racing, hoonigan, etc have inspired me to put on my first car part for my vehicle! It was a starter motor ⚙️🔋
I may be wrong here but being that is a 2006, it should be gen4 ls. The cam/lifters may be wiped from DOD failure which would explain why there was an intake backfire
The quality of editing on your videos on this channel are nothing like when your on C&C .. I like the continent and I love your eclectic car collection so I’ll keep watching anyways . To cool for school I reckon .. You should try hooking up a obd scanner to see what that tells you .. ok that’s helpful .. might as well shop for a SS intake while your as it to increase the HP ? So I’m told .. I’ll definitely tune in for the next episode of what the GMC ..
Some of those intakes have a pop out in them so if they backfire they pop out instead of the complete intake blowing up. Usually they are at the back though.
Nice seeing your bro! It's been a while. The O2 sensors are out because they thought clogged cats...I spent 2 weeks chasing my tail when a buddy said remove them and see how it runs..problem solved!
Keep up the hard work man. Your one of my favorites. Always wondered about the c3 corvettes you had back in the early days. Should be about long enough to do a will it run 😅
The plastic intakes are garbage from the factory. I replaced complete Intakes Throttle bodies Air flow sensors And more on those GMC's All the time The trucks are decent but all the plastic crap... Lol Good video Thank you for sharing
