I Bought This Lionel Hiawatha TRAIN SET for Someone!!

That's hands down one of the nicest scale passanger sets lionel put together. The colors of that set really pops on your set up Chris. Your daughter has really good taste in trains!

That's awesome Chris. My son just turned 8 this year and for the first time ever he's asking Santa for a train set for Christmas! I had to tell everyone I was so excited.

love the Hiawatha scheme the MILW used. One thing i should point out is that the Hiawatha 4-4-2 Atlantic had airhorns instead of whistles, but anything is possible in Lionel lol. I also loved the part when you said how your daughter called the famous Hiawatha, the Orange Creamsicle 🤣. Gotta love it when RPB Trains uploads a new video!

This is a very beautiful and gorgeous train brother you got for your daughter for Christmas.

I can imagine you watching your daughter get on the school bus. And then as soon as the bus disappears around the corner. You run to the train room. And start playing with this train Can't blame you. It's a geogeous set.

I loved this version of the Hiawatha ever since I saw it in TM's All About Trains. That "Hiawatha number 3 here!" has always stuck with me, and is probably one of my favorite CrewTalk lines.

I distinctly remember seeing this set on TM Books and Videos "All About Trains", and it brings back so many memories.

Great video. I love to see kids playing with trains. This big kid just purchased Lionel’s Winter Wonderland train and accessories. My only dismay is that Lionel does not make an O31 Fast Track Power Point . I wanted to make a small circle train under my Christmas tree. I removed the power point connection from a straight piece of track and I affixed it to a piece of O31 curved track. I wanted to use the power pack supplied with the train to enable me to use Lionel’s phone application. Looks weird, but fake snow covered up the power point connection perfectly. Keep making your great videos!

The Hiawatha is by far, the prettest Streamliner I have ever seen, second only to the NYC Empire State Express

Hey @RBPTrains I didn’t realized that the 4-4-2 Hiawatha had a “Co-Bo” type wheel configuration on the tender.

Thanks for the treat of seeing the colorful hiawatha. It was a great train to see on your lay out. It is facinnating to hear you are giving such a expensive set. My son and I have been doing trains together for a ong time. He is now 37 years old and we are still running them. He bought a MTH C&O Greenbriar. I found some passenger cars to add to his set. Looking forward to see his reaction on Christmas as well. Out of the four children we had he is only the only one that has stuck with it. and help build the lay out we have today. Thanks again

Yes that is a very nice train set, even tho I'm mostly in Post war and MPC. I wish I lived closer I think you might enjoy my MPC Era Pennsylvania set. I have the original set with the steam engine, but I have all the original cars +the add on Truman Campaign car and the add on dinner, being pulled by a Penn. Little Joe. Altogether about 13 or 14 cars.

Love all the different trains going by from one vantage point . Well the new Lionel ES-44 AC in US Armed Forces Livery is on my list to Santa this year . Your daughter is gonna be so happy when she opens the set! Unless if she happens to watch the video and unintentionally spoils the surprise. 😅 All in all, a really nice showcase video. Seeing it run side by side with the Polar Express brought a big smile to my face, especially considering the fact I purchased my very own Polar Express O-Scale Lionel set this morning from my local Lionel store. Well worth the purchase as I also bought two add on cars to give the train a more movie accurate look with the five passenger cars. Can’t wait to eventually put my layout together over the course of the next year once I have an idea in mind and buy additional track. 🚂

I would like to see N&W 611 the modern version travel on the truss bridges at high speed!! The layout keeps getting better and better than ever before. I think it's amazing. Aww what a great Christmas gift to give your daughter very sweet but hey you what might really go good for your layout the American freedom train#610 and American freedom train #4449 ever since I saw and discovered those trains my mind blown away with great excitement just wish I could see them run again but running a model of them makes it feel better maybe you can find them that would make my wish come true ^w^

Ooohh you got the Beaver Tail that came out in 1938 which was the last one to come out. Definitely really cool to see that it isn't often you do. Though one guy at the Twin City Model Railroad museum has that in 2 Rail O scale and I videoed that one just because it's so unique.

I just love locomotives that are streamlined like the Hiawatha locomotives

The original Hiawatha locomotives were oil fired which helped a lot with keeping the train clean, it's also why you can't see a coal load on top of the tender.

man, I wish I had the room for Lionel, If I could have my choice, I just want a Simple PRR A5, or RS-13, just a simple switching layout. I love Southern pacific, and to a lesser degree Union Pacific, but, the Pennsylvania just had....something. I don't know what it was really, but have always been a favorite of mine

At some point, you should do a video explaining the best ways to get started in the hobby for newbies (such as I). What era engines to start with, best websites/stores to find track, rolling stock, roads and buildings, etc.

Honestly it does look like a orange cream popsicle. But I love the colors and this set. I’m a big fan of any streamlined steam engine there’s something about them that just stands out to me. And your layout is beautiful as you get more scenery done
