Yup. It's a chinese company that bought the Gateway brand, so technically Gateway is dead

@@ZiReviewsTech Acer actually owns the Gateway brand, the Chinese company that manufactured the laptop licensed the name from them.

I think they made the less obnoxious colours more expensive, and the less crazy colours cheaper. Yeah this is not a Gateway, most likely from Bmorn Tech in Shenzhen who most recently sold Acer's EVOO laptops

Looks like this is out of stock, the $200 version. And yes I checked this is single channel memory, and no additional slot for RAM

Twin Cities, MN MicroCenter has 25 of these at $199.00, as of August 23, 2023. Firefox isn't connecting to internet with The Windows 11 O/S that this comes with for some reason, but there looks to be many fixes online.

@ Your are right. I just looked. It's been less than one day since I bought mine, and the price went up $100 for their cheapest Gateway. They look to be exactly like the one I bought, but they have double the memory, or 512 MB. However, I've only charged to 88%, but battery life seems to be pretty feeble. I would guess it's less than 4 hours in balanced performance/battery life mode. Keep in mind that I had an external DVD RW plugged in for most of that time. Also, even at max volume, I can't hear some YT videos over the fairly loud fan I have next to me. With Onn™ bluetooth headphones, I can hear well. Honestly, I think you'd get a better deal with a used laptop on Craigslist, etc.

Completely. Won't start up anymore. Battery health was still strong before laptop died

@@ZiReviewsTech I don't know your TECH background, but maybe a quick tech shop for review. but of course for the price. if is more 1/2 the cost (of the device) to repair, then just replace. Then not worth the repair. I normally get a minimum of 2 year warranty, as that the most I will get out of a new device.

I hope black friday has better deals this year, but this is only $200 so you can't expect that much

$199 for an ips screen and a Ryzen 5 with 8GB of RAM is a giveaway.
