PS3 is very worth it in 2023, I've had it for 10 years and so far I haven't played everything I wanted to play, plus GTA online is back! Edit 15/08/2024: The 2023 project has been discontinued, BUT a new team has stepped in to revive GTA Online for PS3 only and soon for Xbox 360. RE:V is working perfectly and completely free!

PS3's are still incredible pieces of technology that were capable of doing things that the PS4 and PS5 choose not to include anymore, not to mention the thousands of PS3 games you can access that are ONLY available with a PS3. This man is a monster.
I just wait till it breaks then I can still play old games on it like red gta 4 gta 3 call of duty black ops 1 and 2 and modern warfares and war of the world they were fun but I didn’t have a choice to get rid of it bc my ps3 broke 2016 and my xbox 360 broke in 2014.

You honestly didn't have to break it. You could have just given him the PS5. That probably cost a lot of money. Money doesn't grow on trees. And he probably had the best memories on the PS3.
Imagine he has no way to access his account if everything is stored on the ps3. Tons of people have no idea what password they created because we don't use it to access our shit everyday.

Yea I know this hurt me bkuz I have a ps1 ps2 slim ps3 both the slim and original (one is my mines and the other is my youngest son) then we both have a ps4 & ps5 now… my 15 yr old has the ps3,4,5 and I still would never break them bkuz they aren’t just his but also a part of his life and his childhood only he can get rid of them . I'm hoping it was a broken ps3 from a pawn shop or eBay because they sell consoles that's unable to be fixed. If that ps3 was working, he's crazy. Ps3 still goes strong in this day and valuable like you said. Playing online with only wifi without paying for subscription like the ps4 and ps5.

@@Yelty Ps3 is for nostalgic purposes and it was the first ever console on PlayStation to have free online play plus owning a new ps3 (unused, not refurbished) is rare to come across now in 2022 that's why it wasn't worth him breaking the console.

I dont understand why people do this, either retire it and bring it out for the memories, or sell it, there is no point in destroying it, you just got rid of all his save games and a lot of stuff he cared about, and backwards compatability is a no go for the PS3 because it is notoriously difficult to emulate, so now if he wants to go back and play a game that was on his PS3, thats not an option unless he decides to replace it, he may get a ps5 out of this but that PS3 has far more sentimental value, no matter what you gave me i would be incredibly pissed, i'd probably throw the PS5 back at you, make you return it and replace my PS3, games mean a lot to me and if anyone did that to any one of my systems, we would get in a fight and i would be pressing charges for destroying my property, i dont care what you have for me or who you are, you acted like you knew what he wanted but you cant possibly know, save yourself the trouble and dont do this shit, its a shame that theres one less PS3 in the world because of you
I think he just broke the plastic though, laser and hard drive might still be intact. But yea, why do that crap? Put both Playstations side by side not break it. I have several playstations from 1 to 4 and if 1 ever breaks I try and fix it or keep it for parts. Video looks fake tho, PS3 still has the pink sticker on the bottom as if they just purchased it from a pawn shop or something and they did all this just to make this video for views.
