I built a custom apartment building in The Sims 4! 

please don’t apologize for the number of packs! it is SUCH a delight to watch you build without restrictions, the personality in these exteriors is incredible!

with the right household(s), having neighbours running around like they own each other's houses could be a lot of fun. it's got sitcom vibes that can really work in the sims, i think.

I remember Kayla saying in her video when she looked at her old saves that she used to be so proud of the townhouses she built. Right now, you can easily see the improvement in her builds

I’d like for the teen life state to be slightly longer with them starting off as being closer to child size and ending as the young adult height (like they grow over a course of a couple weeks/days depending on the chosen lifespan), because it’s so bizarre to me when kids age up and immediately look 17.

I would love more teen stuff and gameplay. They need more after school activities (children would be able to use them too of course) and bedroom and cas items. I don't care about babies being freed because I play normal life spam and they are only babies for 3 days. I wouldn't be mad if they did free them it's just not a priority for me. I think teens are far more important. I would love to have more bedroom things and cribs for babies though. Making cute nurseries and having them stuck in cuter bassinets or cribs would be nice maybe even being able to move them to a play mat on the ground or something. I honestly hated how your Sims would just put down your baby in the middle of the floor all the time. Like why are you putting your new born baby on the kitchen tile. Anyways awesome townhome Kayla!

I love this and the idea of a mini-series for the interior with each one being different with different families in mind. Older individual, young family, and a single person starting out in life etc..

I vote for the middle house to be for a bachelor with lots of girlfriends instead of a couple so one of the other families can have a pet 😂 I honestly love playing the neighbor dynamics in builds like this!

I feel the same about them adding cars, it would be cool & definitely wouldn’t complain if they did. But I would LOVE a baby update! It doesn’t make sense that the babies literally can go in your household inventory 😂

i don’t actually mind that babies are technically objects in the sims 4. i do want them to expand them a little though. like the farm animals are technically objects too, but those are fun to play with. also BABIES NEED MORE SKIN COLORS there are like 2.

Love these. I would REALLY love to see you do a big family with mom, dad, kids, aunt and uncle, cousins and nans or grandmas who live in these townhomes! That would be so awesome.

I think just in general we need more stuff/activities for life stages outside of young adults. Literally the whole game revolves around being a young adult and we need more gameplay for younger and older sims.

I feel like pre-teens would be cool to see. I guess when I play, sometimes when multiple of my sims are kids, it feels like they’re ages are too stagnant and I want the ability to have their ages a little more distinguished and have sibling relations feel more real (like it’s hard to feel like one of the sims has a big sister as an example, when they’re both in the “kid” phase at the same time for so long)

I used these townhouses for 3 generations of my Not so Berry legacy and I’m obsessed! The middle house became mint, the “blue” house became yellow and of course red for the red generation. Thank you for making these Simsie 💙

I could see a generation family living here. Maybe older parents in one place, a divorced adult and their teen in one, and then a couple with a child or two in the third house… I love the way the town house looks!

Those townhouses are gorgeous. I wish we had the apartments like in Sims 2 where we could play multiple families in apartment complexes. I loved that.

I’ve seen someone comment “every room but each room is a different time limit” which I think is awesome. I would expect you have infinite money but spin 1-60 for how many minutes. Don’t remember who said it but I love the idea ❤️

They most definitely need to update the baby’s. And add more things for them in general.

I LOVE these kinds of builds! I live in a UK townhouse, one that even has basement houses too (which my family lives in, it’s so cute and cozy!) I wish the game had terrace houses, it would add such a new level of gameplay! I hope that’s an update we could could get too! If we get a generations pack, I’d like to see a preteen life stage with things like acne, proper mood swings, bullying (with consequences) that kind of stuff would be fun! But I’m a family simmer so maybe only I’d find preteens fun lol!

It’d be so nice to have a ‘decades stuff pack’ or kit. It could be just clothes or also just themed items of certain decades in build mode. I am currently doing that challenge and it’d be so helpful as I play on ps4 and can’t use mods or cc.

oh these look Great :D might save it to furnish and play in the third/"granny" house tbh. as for update opinions, babies couldn't matter less to me- the crying sound is such a sensory nightmare that I age up to toddler the second my sims get home from the hospital. would definitely love for EA to give kids and teens more gameplay. the only after-school activities are theater and scouts, and kids only have four aspiration options... would love to see things like after-school sports, part time jobs for teens, school events like prom, and alternate aspirations. even if they ended up with the exact same reward as the existing ones, it would be refreshing to, for example, have a budding chef fulfill a creative aspiration through helping their parents cook, rather than making them draw and play instruments for their entire childhood

i might give this house a shot... house one: orphaned teenager who lives alone. their parents are gone and their grandparents gifted them the house on the condition they graduate top of the class, but they have no idea how they'll be able to keep the house in good shape and keep their grades up. house two: single unemployed and pregnant parent with two children already, lost their spouse in a tragic llama snowboarding accident. they're living off the insurance payout for the moment but that's not going to last forever... house three: two homeless sims and their dog that moved in secretly and have to sneak at night if they want to go outside, hoping nobody notices they live there until they can afford to start paying the bills.

A baby update is a must! I want babies like ts2 where you can use the changing table and bathe them in the sink. I wouldn't mind preteens but I don't need them. The only reason I would want them is because I make households with multiple children and want to specify which child is older.

I'm so excited to play in this. Right now the family I have has a grandma, a mom, two kids and a teenager. Three is perfect! One for the grandma. Another for all the others and then when the teenager becomes a young adult one for her.

When it comes to additions to the actual game I’d want us to be able to do more with the babies. It’s sad they just lay in the same bed and sob. It would be so fun to have a baby play pen or a baby stroller to go on walks with.

Houses like these are very common where I live. In fact, I currently live in one! Usually you have 3 or 4 houses next to each other and yes, the houses on the edge have windows on the side. That is usually one of the bonuses in those houses - also they usually have a slightly bigger garden. In our area the row houses are all under historic preservation, so having three completely different houses next to each other is not really a thing. And even newer row houses are usually very homogenous on the outside, because the city wants a cohesive appearance for those neighborhoods.

I'd love to see more gameplay options for toddlers - teens and a few more things for elders. We all know the sims is a young adult simulation and it makes it way less fun to play as any other age group. Maybe some new lot types? An amusement park would be cool! I mean, they have so many options that they've put in past games. I know they can't do everything in this engine but it just makes no sense when modders can add things (and usually for free) that the sims team just can't seem to do.

This is so great! I can just see the sims for this build too. On the left, a young family with twin toddlers. In the middle, a single sim who lives alone with their dog. On the right, two older ladies who room together after being widowed or divorced and run a small business from the attic. I just love how well your builds tell stories. ♥️

I’d want to try a build like this for a legacy family. Especially in later generations when my family tree is big. Heir got married? Great, move in the in-laws too! Plenty of space. I might try it. Plus, it would likely be an expensive build and I know my issue in later generations of legacy challenges is I get bored because my sims have too much money.

I had these downloaded before watching this. I love the townhouse feel and I think it would be great for growing generational families so that you can keep track of them.

where i live, in townhouses, the bottom floor is actually a garage! so usually these buildings are like 3-4 stories tall-the first being the garage (technically 2 car garage but you have to park front to back instead of beside eachother), then you go up to like kitchen living etc (sometimes they are split between levels too, and then the 3rd floor is bedrooms and if it’s a 4th floor it’s usually the master or some other cool space. i think they include a garage on the bottom floor here because it gets so cold in the winter so having a garage is sooo handy lol.

I would love the babies to be more interactive. Like being able to change their cloths, do tummy time, maybe a feature that if the babies master crawling then it could help toddler movement or something, being able to create babies in CAS. There is just soooo much lacking when it comes to babies. I would play with babies sooo much more if we had more items.

I would LOVE a ful series for these town homes and their sims!

I have a list of things I'd like to see. 1. More baby content. 2. Horses (I loved building a family in Sims 3 just to take care of the main character the horse) 3. Controllable pets. 4. More playable occults (like Sims 3) 5. The ability to stack occults (I want Alien Vampires, Alien Spellcasters, Vampire Spellcasters etc) And the most important one to me. 6. Some love for the Alien Occult in general (it used to feel like such an achievement to get an alien baby in Sims 2 and 3. Now I can straight up make them and they don't feel special as to me. Like the Vampires and the Spellcasters get their own skill trees. Aliens get... A human disguise.. and some unique interactions.. So to do all the other occults to some extent (no disguise for the Spellcasters). Give them challenges that can't be ignored. Oh no someone found out my obviously not hiding it alien us an alien. The horror!) Thought of something else. I want to be able to adjust lifespan for each occult separately. Vampires can still be Immortal young adults, or whatever they were if turned afterwards, but I want the ability for an occult to age at a different rate than a human. Yes I know that I could just age the human up before their actual birthday but that defeats the reason I picked long lifespan.

I LOVE the idea of this becoming a series, it's gonna be a lot of fun!

I would like more bassinet options (non cc) and maybe be able to change their onesie. I would also like more toddler stuff (like the stuff you can buy in the sims 3 store). To have a townhome lot option would be AMAZING! Oh the list can go on and on….

This is so fun!!! I would love to see you do some downtown Toronto inspired houses or townhouses like this, we have so many different communities there's a really fun Mish mash of styles

This might be my favourite build from Kayla! It is so beautiful and I watched the vod a few times just to enjoy the creative process behind the townhouses. They look amazing!

if they can add a base game hot-tub, making a stuff pack kind of useless, they for sure should add more apartments!!!

Even if the houses do look red, white, and blue, there are so so so many countries that have flags with those colors (e.g., Britain, France). Also, fun fact, those are the most common colors to use in a flag (individually) and there are very few flags that don't have at least one of those colors.

To your build: I love it, and the personalities each house has? Perfect. I can't wait to see these houses filled with furnuiture (if you decide to do that~!) To your view on cars: I agree! I would love the idea to teach teens to drive, and woohoo in cars, but as for driving them, I care little. I personally enjoy the neighborhood system the Sims 4 has (though, I would prefer the neighborhood be open, more over loading every single lot), and don't think physically driving them is needed, but to have the interaction to teach your teens, or the woohoo spot be a car (functional or broken down) would be really cool :D

I have an idea for the house. You could make the ‘main’ sim on your channel make the others whenever you want to. And possibly the main sim lives in the family one with her family, the modern one might be like a couple with their daughter, and the granny one should be 3 grannies. The neat one, the animal one and the gardening one. The grannies get a club called the gardening gals. I have rambled to much-

Love this build! I totally agree with the apartments - the ones from Eco are my favourites and I don't know why they didn't give Snowy Escape the same kind of apartment building. It would've worked so well in that world

something i've never seen you do that i would love to is if perhaps you made houses/townhouses/whatever with multiple bedrooms, but the multiple bedrooms aren't all for families, but roomies. The way I play, I often have an eclectic group of sims living together and this might also be a fun lil thing to spice things up a bit if you wanted

You can separate them by locking the doors to other sims

actually, if you have university, the roomates system can allow you to populate the rest of the townhouses with sims not in your household. if you lock the door of your unit so that only your household can access it and then lock the doors of the other unit so that only roomates can access it, there's no weirdness where your sims try to use stuff in the other apartments. it feels just like having neighbors. i had a sim where i made a partner for her but i didn't want to micromanage their courtship. i moved her into a duplex situation and then the partner responded to the roomate ad since i hadn't placed him in the world. it was super cute. they hung out on each other's porches every day after work and the relationship evolved pretty organically. and then when they eventually got married, i found out the partner actually had a bunch of skills from living autonomously right along side my main sim. 10/10, do recommend

When you made the “granny townhome” I was so exited because I’ve been looking for a house for my young adult childish sim, and I just felt like the houses were either too modern and stuff or either too ancient feeling but this matches them perfectly 😂 thanks Kayla!

I love the Generations pack idea. Something i would love to play in. I love the apartments, but the town houses are the middle ground between having your own house and an apartment, which i want. Having close neighbours would be so fun. And still having your own space and back yard is also fun. Btw love the houses you built they all are so nice.

I love the build! I think it would be really cool if you first made a video creating sim families for each house and then afterwards you made videos decorating each house for those specific sims!!! I love watching builds made for specific sims.

Very interested in seeing the family that would live in these houses! Honestly these a BEAUTIFUL, thank god for the lock door feature :') a series would be very very exxxxxciting!! I lowkey love chaos so I would have granny living on the end, grannys kid with there own partner and child on the other end and then in the middle happens to be the person who used to date grannys kid. Anyway granny actually likes the ex more and it's just chaos because they happen to live there still after inheriting it from there parents or something. but you have childhood sweethearts who aren't interested in each other anymore happening to live next to each other with the granny who does like who their kid has married but just still really dotes on the ex Imao.

I think it would be really cool to see you furnish all of these houses with the same basic things (kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures, any furniture that could come with a rented property) and in the same floorplan, and then vary the personalities through decoration! As if each household moved into a standard building and could only add their own personal touches!

In many ways, it's more environmentally "friendly" not to have cars. It's a way to get people to think outside of the "we have to have cars" attitude that is so prevalent, so that perhaps we can encourage people to find other modes of transport. That being said, I'd like it if we had our parents teach their teens to drive. In TS3, I always did that. It was one of my favorite teen activities! I do put "garages" into my homes (because I often use a real blueprint as my "inspiration.") But I do what is done so commonly around here: use the garage for something else. Many garages in my area have been converted into a bedroom. Our garage is the workshop for my husband's blacksmith business at my personal house. In one of my favorite builds that I uploaded to the Gallery, the garage was converted into a workout room (for yoga, cardio, and weight lifting.) I live in an area that is more than a mile from the nearest bus stop, so there's no way I can give up my car. (And they're cutting down on the number of bus stops so that the buses stop less and complete their routes faster. Good for commuters. Bad for elders who are having to use public transport for grocery shopping, getting to doctor's appointments, or visiting friends.) I'd have to use Uber or Lyft, which would get expensive. At least in the Sims, they encourage being "carless". That could be seen as a big positive since they have made the neighborhoods pedestrian-friendly.

I would actually really want more of like baby and toddler stuff. I mean like things that would be useful and quite realistic, like a changing table or more cribs. But honestly speaking, I’d prefer more of like landscaping in the base game. I know there is a debug section but like more of landscaping would be nice.

i think a Nursery/ “Our First Baby” kit or pack would be cool. i’d like to see them add some cribs. it would also be cool if they had those little jumpy things that you can sit a baby in or the plastic ones with little toys built into it. also how cool would it be if you could take your baby on a walk in a stroller. there’s so much potential for babies. they could even add baby toys like rattles, teething toys, and pacifiers

In the Sims 2, you could make something like this. So long as there were no adjoining doors or hallways or yards, and you had the specialized apartment doors as each front door, you could turn this into an apartment complex. You'd build it as a residential home, set everything in place, then go into the cheat bar (ctrl+shift+c) and change the lot to apartments. Then you could move up to four different families (max 8 people each) into each available apartment. Any you didn't move Sims into would be populated by the game. I bought City Living in the hopes that that would continued in the Sims 4, and was sorely disappointed. I don't know why they didn't do that for this game. With the mechanism we have now to change lot types, it would have made the old Sims 2 method SO much easier! BTW, college dorms worked the same way, and that was ALSO a major disappointment for that pack.

I guess pre-teens would be cool and being able to hit puberty and everything else like having sleepovers and stuff like that with school trips too. I also like the idea that teens would be able to "sneak out" to go to their boyfriends/girlfriends house and like party and stuff like that. One other thing I would really enjoy about the babies is being able to crawl around the house and take first steps. That would be adorable and more fun than being a baby for 3 days and then an emediate toddler. Cars would be cool too I guess but it's not really a priority I would enjoy.

a lot of old town houses that look like this in london would have had tiled path going upto the steps. Some town houses have sections missing due to ww2 where they were bombed out so the ends would would just be painted as they were not designed to have windows on the ends. I use to live in a row like this and one end had windows on the side of the end house where as the other end didnt. I think that strangervill, paranormal and cottage living would work well together as the build stuff from strangervil has very victorian/ edwardian doors and windows. Which work great with the other packs.

I definitely would love the ability to build apartments like this which work for play mode. I have built so many apartment buildings in my game but I never play them because I get so frustrated that it doesn't really work.

I feel like the black and White House is where the landgrabs would live. Also love the houses!😁
