I Built a MUD BRICK Castle in Hardcore Minecraft 1.19 Survival Lets Play (#18) 

What do you think of the new castle in the hardcore world? I really love the new mud bricks!!

For the wheat farm you need to keep the farmers from composting the seeds, otherwise they will collect most of the wheat. So add trapdoors around the sea lantern preventing them to get close to the composter (they will still be locked on to it though).

I find the time lapses very satisfying to watch as you can see the build grow but I also like the building tips you throw in in between!

hey fWhip, personally I prefer a mix of all three ( time lapses, stutter cuts & montages ). It helps keep people engaged. Loving the style of content at the moment ... keep it up!

I definitely think the mix you have right now for timelapses and showing us you building is good. Especially for small - Medium builds like this. For huge mega builds however I would say timelapses will be a lot better so we can see just the massive scale of things.

this is about your editing question: i love the stutter cut montages and the time lapses but i especially love time lapses on the bigger builds so you can see it fully come together… but literally anything you choose to do i know i’ll love

i personally love when you show the building process, the timelapses are pretty cool but theyre short, and the process is very enjoyable

i love how you showed a bit of the “behind the schenes preps” for the build. just shows how challangenging it actually is to build in minecraft. This guy is a LEGEND

One of the most satisfying things about all of your series is to just watch the villages/cities/kingdoms just expand with the mix of smaller builds and mega builds. 22:02 there was one of the levers placed on the spruce slab instead of the diorite just in case you missed it. To fix the wheat farm: Use wool to make sure each allay hears/uses the correct note block for that layer, and maybe a chunk loader?

Mud bricks are such a nice block, they fit together with so many other blocks like spruce, granite, bricks, jungle etc.

I actually love the 3 variants of showing your process, since they are very different and help me visualize your builds in a different way. But If I were to choose 1, maybe I would go for the time lapse :)

Hey, fWhip I like both the time-lapses, the video cuts and the balance of it all. The only thing i'd want you to add is a little more of walk around the finished build

I really like the montage where you show yourself gathering the materials for the builds or building them because its very fun for me to see that speed motion of the material gathering and i love the minecraft sounds 🤩

The balance is definitely fun. I love watching seeing each type of building footage for different reasons, and I think it would get boring/old if you had too much of one type

I feel like a solid timelapse overlayed with an explanation of what's going on would really be a solid way to show the building process!

I personally enjoy the timelapses the most, but I do enjoy all the variety in how you show the build process!

I really love your enthusiasm about your builds. You can be really proud of them, they look amazing! You asked for suggestions about your narration style and i really like the trinity you described. The only thing i would like to have a little more of at the end of the episode is a more detailed showcase of your build. There are a lot of details and i would like to enjoy them in a slower walkthrough, as they are reeeaaallly beatiful 😍

I love the combo of time lapse and in-game footage you use! I also really loved that you showed how you test-build in creative before building in HC, I do that a lot too. The castle is awesome! I’m totally gunna use mud bricks next time I work on my town! Great job!

I love the castle! Personally a narrated timelapse is my favourite way to watch a build/terraform process, while the montage is better for mining or planning skeletons.

I love this 'smaller' castle and the mud bricks! It's nice to see the combination of montages and time lapses...I prefer the not-so-huge builds and being able to watch you actually build in first person and witness your creative process.

I love the balance you already have going on with the timelapse/live building. I love the castle, it really settles in with the world. The window designs are also inspiring, might have to see how I can play around with windows more! Though I do have to note: it looks like with how busy you got with this lovely castle and 1.19 adventuring we've forgotten to do a field for this episode! (unless i blinked and missed it, I'm very tired :P)

3:05 I agree you should build some small builds like the mini castle I would love to see some tutorials from the hardcore world though anyways continue building awesome builds

The new castle looks incredible. To asnwer your question, I personally like timelaspes with commentary about thought process or building process. I also like first person building while narrating thought process. Sometimes the jump cuts between each block placement gets me a little motion sick; it's just too quick and weird angles.

I love the timelapses since I can see what you're going for, but I also looooovvee the way you explain things to us as you go. I've been really wanting to build my first castle in this server I'm in, and you explaining has been super helpful. You're so detailed in your builds like wow!! I hope eventually to get good at detailing on the outside of builds soon. You're amazing

Love the idea of more lore in your world and im glad to see you are doing what you want to do and not just what you feel you need to do.

I think the way you make your videos is near perfect as is. I enjoy you slowing it down and showing how you design things and little details and then going into Timelapse mode when you’re tackling a large portion of the build like more layers to your farm, or a big part of the castle build.

I LOVE your time lapse segments, but really enjoy learning from you as you talk through your building process.

Using allays in a farm just... It doesn't work. Their aim is horrible, they'll sooner hit the wall or anywhere else but your intended target. Also, they can't really grab a lot of items in one go, and lounge around too long and allow items to despawn if there are too many. A automatic farm in any other way BUT allays is much more efficient. And actually works.

How is it possible that every time you build something, it's 10x better than the last! You put so much time into these builds and you incorporate so much STORY into all of them. I don't understand how someone could be so incredibly talented! Love the castle, tutorial plsss.

The best builds are cozy and manage the space used well. You get detail in there that make the space more realistic and also make it seem like it's being used. I adored your original castle also, was good stuff.

I'm really enjoying watching people get very creative with color and block palettes to incorporate the new 1.19 blocks. Also the shader view at the end made the tower roof look soooo good - the gradient was awesome

I love timelapses, but im also very fond of hearing the block placing/breaking noises haha, theyre very satisfying

I really like the balance of timelapses and live building you have now, but I think focusing the live building nuts on roofs would be nice! Those are what I always struggle the most with and seeing you build them helps a lot!

This is by far my favorite episode and build in the series! The castle build is so beautiful and inventive. The copper roof was especially cool to see the build process of.

you do an excellent mix of both time lapses and POV building. i definitely prefer time lapse building for bigger projects like castles, but i love how you're able to elongate what can be a relatively short clip by using different methods!

I prefer the montages with the cuts because I feel like it helps us to understand where you are going with the build and what it will look like in the end. It also adds more energy in my opinion. Also when you did the roof time lapse it was so satisfying. Love the build 💜

I'm a huge fan of warmer toned medieval and fantasy style builds and these new mud blocks really blend in so well and just add so much more to the build and the surroundings. Beautiful build my friend

16:43 I do love your mix of all three, but as someone who gets super motion sick with minecraft, sometimes stutter cuts can get to be a little much, and even makes me a little dizzy. Your time lapses are definitely my favorite! The castle looks amazing (like your castles always do)!!

i think timelapse’s are awesome for seeing massive projects come to life, maybe watching a forest being chopped down, any monotonous task that doesn’t feel like a lot until you look back on it, stuff like that! i definitely think montages are cool when they’re tasteful, i probably wouldn’t want to watch a video that is full of montages

First of all: LOVE the new castle! It's so beautiful! I feel sort of the same way as you, I love the mix of everything with timelapses, montages and such. Watching a build grow in a timelapse is super cool, but I also really love when you pause them for building tips. It was also really nice to see how you plan stuff a bit more, I'd love to see more of that in the future!

I like the mix of different timelapse/montage/jump cuts. Minecraft videos seem to be super timelapse heavy so breaking it up feels good

I love it! It’s so good. I definitely prefer the time lapses also. And the roof on that big tower is something that I’ve been doing and i think it is the coolest thing to do with copper. :)

Really cool series. Keep it up! For the wheat farm, try filling the farmer`s inventory with seeds so that he cant pick up the wheat. That`ll give the allays a chance to pick up the wheat and throw it to the hoppers :)

fWhip when building docs out of wood, the support beams under the water could be a different color wood than the ones above. For example, have oak wood support beams above water and the ones that go below water could be spruce or dark oak. This just gives the wood a rundown look from being under the water.

i really love timelapses, not only because theyre satisfying, but its a little hard to get a sense of scale or direction from a video and seeing things come together from a distance helps keep me from getting lost

Allay wheat farm fix: Hey fWhip, your wheat farm is actualy supposed to work, i tried it and only problem that can occur is when allay isnt connected to the right note block (you can check it by seeing the vibrations going from note block to the allay), if that happens turn it off and on and check again, he should connect to closest noteblock (which should be one in the same layer, or you can try breaking it). Another thing might be that the villager is taking all wheat (he could have some from before, or he just didnt pick all of the seeds), then he would be just filling this one slot (and maybe composting it too). If it still doesnt work, try throwing some wheat on ground to check if the allay will pick it up. You can also try bone meanling some wheat to check if the villager will break it and if yes then if he will pick it up or not. It should be in spawn chunks (im not exactly sure how far it is from spawn, but spawn chunks are 16*16, so you can check it (: ) Also villagers harvest crops around noon (they dont do it during night, morning and evening or if they do its super slow in this time). And lastly allays aim isnt that good so check if the items are bumping to a wall. If you still cant figure it out, just tell me, i can have a look at it (: Amazing video and have a great summer.

Me personally while I love seeing the massive progress throughout each episode, seeing build tips in action, hearing your conversation and watching the progress in real time is invaluable to me! Love to see more of that too.

10:10 If you want better sounds note block, put under it block like gold, emeralds, ice (I think they do the gratest sounds).

Timelapse is my fav. It’s the most relaxing to watch and I can see everything take shape and come together. Love your build details. 🫶🏼

I like a balance of content in minecraft videos. For some builds i feel like a timelapse is irreplaceable. Its a way to see the build come to life before your eyes. But for some content like detailing its nice to hear the thought process behind it as its being built. Sort of taking the viewer along for the ride. Mixed in with some montages, creates a nice variety of pacing to keep the viewer engaged.

I love what you built but you definitely need to show it off better. It’s hard to appreciate it if only ever get to see it in short time lapses. Like I want a little walk through tour of the place like a museum.

Fun fact Mr fWhip sir. The wooden "jut-out" you added to the castle is actually historically accurate, back in the 13th and 14th centuries, the castle garrison would build these wooden walkways covered in treated hide from posts set into the walls. They were called hoardings.

Time lapses are very relaxing to watch but breaking down the builds and showing us what you’re thinking and actually doing with your builds is very interesting and makes us better builders too!

Keeping the 3 for more different viewers but I prefer when someone talks about their build while there is either a live build or speed build with talking

I miss when you showed more of you actually playing! I enjoyed feeling like part of the process and like youre talking to the audience, the montages and time lapses are really cool and i still watch and enjoy every video, but it goes by so fast and when you make a new amazing thing that took a lot of time every episode, it doesn't feel as grand and exciting as when you build it over time and we really get to see the process if that makes sense?

The the time lapses are enjoyable to watch but I also like when you occasionally explain what you're doing with the build and what your thought process is because I gather a lot of my own minecraft inspiration from youtubers, so I like to learn new tricks that way

I really like different cuts mixed together. I have a preference towards stutter cuts over time-lapses but that's mostly bc I didn't really see others doing it and associate it with your content to a degree. It's very nice. Your content is very you and unique in a way I absolutely love.

I think you should build a deep dark themed castle as well! Because it is 1.19. You should also build bamboo castle and a cherry blossom one when 1.20 comes out!
