I am yet again stunned! Such great content, you have such a passion and it's great to see in all of your videos ❤ Looking forward to your future posts 👀
This is beautiful and is growing in nicely. I always over plant initially because I hate a bare tank but then I always have 2 remove plants and trim them often. I do try to use plants that I can easily propagate too so I can use them as house plants or for potential new enclosures The part where you were saying you weren't sure of the frog was cleaning himself he was shedding his skin. They eat it off of themselves, just like geckos. Not sure if you knew that but just wanted to mention it to you. Have a great day!
Thank you. Yes I think it can take some time to get it going but this worked out well. I think in a couple months it will be heavy with ferns and moss on the sides. No I didn't know it was shedding. I've seen it in geckos but never with frogs.
Beautiful and well thought out setup! Your camera work was also on point, I’m looking forward to seeing more of your work! You asked for video ideas, so how about a desert environment? I don’t see these all that often in the community, and the critters that call these lands home are very interesting and different as well.
The set up was amazing. The egg crate background is a genius idea! I know it's not as exciting as the frogs which are gorgeous but I'd love to see you do a bio active praying mantis set up. Also magic potions are some of my favourite isopods.
Very amazed by the 'simplicity' you show in building something so beautiful. Love your funny sarcastic appraoch! really blast to watch. Question. How do you ensure the quality of water? You dont have a filter and the water seems to very still most of the time. Thanx and looking forward to more!
Thank you glad you enjoyed it! For the water quality. An aquarium can be ran without a filter if set up correctly. On this build I can easily drain water through the bottom, there is a pipe connected to the plug and simply change the water, even the sand if needed but note that the sand holds all beneficial bacteria.
Amazing build, and awesome animals you got there. Only thing I might change is the Alocasia micholitziana since it gets quite large. Maybe another bromeliad or a smaller philodendron could substitute it? :)
@Jonas-yf9ln Thank you! Yes some of the leaves are HUGE now that I've trimmed them and they've grown back so I might swap that one out but it does work well for the frogs. There is another small philodendron in there and there's runner coming off both bromeliads so it's growing in nicely.
This is awesome! I’m looking to do something similar for some Red Eyed Tree Frogs using the same tank, and I have a couple questions for you since you’ve had this up and running for a while now: -What kind of filtration do you use? I know tree frogs have a tendency to relive themselves over water, and I don’t want ammonia products being poured down on them from the rain. -How is the ventilation in there? I saw you left gaps at the top of the rain basin- does it sufficiently ventilate the enclosure? -How often do you change the water? -Finally, is there anything you would have modified about this setup now that it’s been running for a while? Thanks, and keep up the great work!
Thank you I didn't use any products in here. The water area was the same as I would of set an up aquarium ecosystem. No issues with ventilation, how far you build the rain tray is preference and depends on the tank you have. Water changes only as and when needed. Its very easy with the plug in the bottom. Yes I removed the big plant just simply because it was too big. The plants respond better to less water so it's just a case of learning over time what's best but less water and removing the plant blocking light allowed the other plants to catch up. I might of added fans for circulation if I was to do it again but again depends which tank
ey bro, good video, i like it so much....u are amazing, so, I want to tell u something....Im tierra epica, from Mexico and I would like to ask u if I can Translate ur content to spanish...of course giving u the credits in the video and description wit links to ur channel and video....of course only if I get ur permission...
Hey! Plantbox im new to this ecosystem stuff after making some ponds i had decided that i would try making a channel and i need tips im asking every ecosystem youtuber i can find my questions are Is my name good How much money can you really make How to take care of ecosystem properly and Whats the basics for a ecosystem If you have any tips please tell me i would be happy i hope you have a good day/night
@ThebassBros-z6s your not a bad youtuber I'm the bad youtuber I don't even got a pfp or a single video my channel is a desert😔 i wish YOU good luck too
@sarahk2355 for sure! From research the frogs can live without UVB if supplemented but I chose to add a light, the acrylic doesn't cover the whole top because the ventilation mesh is at the back so I left space.
Too much water mate 45% humidity with burst of 70% to 80% that looks like 100% humidity all the time plus they will end up impacted will all that soil on the walls
I had to make it rain in the rainforest lol It might look like that wet in the video but it actually dries out quite fast and the ventilation is still very good in the top. I don't use the rain unless I sit and watch sometimes. The water is also not always filled. Plants can also show signs of overwatering in the beginning whilst you find the balance.
