Yeah, we really need less expensive sets and battle packs! Your designs were amazing! Especially the Rohan one! You have definitely grown as a MOC builder!
This is a wonderful video and a good idea for Lego to follow up on! To many expensive sets and then they just become nice to look at but with something like this you can feel like your getting your money’s worth while also having some amazing sets!
Dude, these are so cool. I really like the $20 range you were building with. It really helps to have a size you are trying to fit sometimes to make a good build, like knowing how big or small you want it in the end is really important!
Definitelly we need a LOTR battle packs, especially Gondor and Elf warriors. I like your versions a lot. I am surprised that u don't have an official Rohan soldiers, they are the most detailed medieval faction ever, mostly 'cause Theoden and Eomer. Where do u have the boss white warg?😅
can you do Dwarf and Elf battle packs? and the dwarves got a chariot war machine in in the extended version of Battle of the five armies? and the Elves made like the Mirkwood elven warriors, and give them some elks to ride?
Good job on the ideas, if only Lego cared. The torso you used for Rohirrim is the best of the new "Viking" ones. But it is not the best torso for Rohan figures that Lego makes, there is an older Viking torso. The tower is a simple build ,but there is too much stone. They didn't build with it because they had no regular resource for it. A wood / log build would have been more accurate. The helmet is good for variety, but it does not fit right because it is made to have a beard. There are much better 3rd party helmets, spears, shields, and weapons. The Gondor figures came decent, for being stuck with Lego parts. Again there are much better 3rd party minifigures and accessories for Gondor, so even if Lego finally makes them they will probably not be as good. If Lego was not so lazy and actual cared about making LOTR sets again, it would be obvious to them to make battle packs like Star Wars. Alas Lego will go big again and do poor job of representing a large Middle Earth structure, which they should not even try to make. If someone in that group over there gave a shit, they would make Middle Earth Vignettes, which could include many places and races with new and specific MF's, so they could keep them scarce and rare the way they like it. Keep up the content, maybe the mothership will shock us all.
My son and I actually just did this, but using all Pick a brick parts. It worked great, you can get those Viking torsos and Lego's non printed helmet that look great. The Viking shields are perfect as well. The Roman gladius type sword looks a lot like the Rohan sword. Both shield and sword types are available on Pick a Brick.
The video is of course cool, but I would like to say about your factions, or rather about their names, because yellow crows or red lions sound stupid, even for the order, there you can give normal names for states and why are orcs wearing underpants?Yes, I know they live in the desert, but the inhabitants of the desert are not only dressed in underpants and there is no other settlement for the orcs, why? If you want to make your own interesting ENT, don't rely on legos.
He doesn’t call his knights “yellow crows or Red lions” he calls them “black Ravens and lion knights”. Also lego is still a medium that allows people to be creative, the limitations force people to BE creative.
Like you can't come up with your own names? Since lego is a creative environment, this does not mean that you can only build and make customizations, but you can come up with normal names for fractions
As a MOC builder, this is really all I want from LEGO... Not giant $300-$400+ sets, but smaller battle packs to get figures that I can use in MOCs. I really hope LEGO comes out with more battle packs (other than Star Wars I mean...).
@@BDD_Builds Very fair, as I do understand that appeal. I limit mine to 6-20 figs per faction, as that seems a good number for scene building. Any more & I cannot justify the expense because I won't have the space. Already I have my favorite sets on a monthly rotation that ties to a cleaning schedule.
As a big LOTR fan - these are awesome! Nice building techniques and great use of the torsos. I like how the back torso prints also work when flipped around
These are fantastic! I especially love the Rohan set. Those Cultbricks helmets are fire! It's too bad they're sold out. Hopefully they'll reprint at some point. Anyway, fingers crossed we get some proper LEGO LOTR Battle Packs at some point.
Cracker builds amd mix ups as well..builders who build need to realise sometimes these small builds and scenes..can be better than one massive build.!! And I personally prefer and find a bunch of small builds can make the eyes and imagination capture the scene/s a lot easier.!!
Great idea. These packs with a building or catapult would cost at least $40-50. I would rather just have the 3 figs and an animal. That would be $20 US or, in my case, $30 here in Australia. Lego only seems to want to slug Castle or LOTR/Hobbit fans with expensive sets. The new Town Square is $400 AU, and Rivendell, which I would love to buy, is $800 AU, so something like these to be army builders would be amazing and sell like crazy. Lego doesn't seem to understand the demand is there.
You should be excited because there's a new LOTR movie coming out at the end of this year I'm pretty sure, ABOUT Rohan and I'm pretty sure we're gonna be getting some battle packs from that hopefully!
I really like how you recreated Game of Thrones characters with LEGO. Could you please try making the characters from The Witchers and The Chronicles of Narnia?
I still can not believe Lego haven’t done battle packs for LOTR yet. I would lose every penny I own on it, and I’m just one guy. They could make a killing on this. Surely a big company like Lego wouldn’t turn down extra money 🤣
For an alternative version of the rangers of Gondor, to be more precise, the ones led by Faramir in The Two Towers, you could combine the hood and legs of the bandit from the 16th series of cmf with the torso of the cmf centaur, with a cloak from the battlepack of the Mandalorians, plus bow and quiver. I did this for a bandit minifig and it didn't turn out badly.
I own helms deep and I am lucky to have theoden and 4 official Lego Rohan soldiers. If Lego does make a new Rohan battle pack which might happen due to the war of roheirm movie I would buy at least 4
Also I’m wondering if we could see you make a big battle diorama or if you could show us the cringey videos that you have of the ones you made as a kid
i heard they were planning on lord of the rings battle packs later this year definitely one for Rohan since the war of the rohirrim is coming this year
@Goldfyre it's a battle pack. There weren't battles with Saruman's Uruk Hai, Moria, and Mordor orcs all at once. It's like making a castle battle pack with a black falcon, a raven knight, and a lion knight.
@Goldfyre that makes sense. Honestly, I really appreciate this type of video. I desperately want more small Lord of the Rings sets and having creators like yourself make content like this is awesome.
Fantastic battle packs, I wish Lego would return to the set size distribution of the 80s... just cannot afford to keep up with these ridiculously sized ~adult~ sets :( I'd avoid promoting Bricks and Dice though, unfortunately, I used to watch his videos but bro has made some weird political comments in a couple videos and seems far-right.
Thanks! as for the bricksanddice thing are you talking about his gripe with the viking village? I don't agree with that video myself but i don't think he came across as far-right by any means.
@@Goldfyreit was in his snow white cottage video from a couple months ago, abt 3:30, not like a definite condemnation but seems a bit sketchy given those other comments. just thought you should know!
It's kind of crazy to me that we didn't get ANY Gondor minifigures in the LOTR line back in the day, unless you count Boromir and the Black Gate variant of Aragorn. I'd love to see a brick-built Oliphaunt as the centerpiece to a set with the Ithilien rangers, or something set in Osgiliath.
All in all, I like what you've done here. The Rohan on is my favorits e & most likely to happen considering the Rohan anime coming out later this year. The onnager will probably need wheels for LEGO to approve it, but the build is awesome. I'll check out more of that builder's works!
Man what would i give for a revival of lotr as a normal theme. Only two sets but both cost 400€+, who got the money for those? Really dont understand why lego doesnt do it, it would sell like crazy
I would want to see a dwarf castle or fortress tackled with an elf battle pack to oppose it since canonicaly the two don't get along as well, with maybe a hobbit one but more for laughs than actual army building. That idea would be cool for a sequel to this video I think
@@Goldfyre there are new films in production, maybe they will be tied to those. i've heard that in a couple of videos, i don't know how legit those claims are
hey goldyre i have this idea for a set the lore comes from the tournament knight the lore is that the clans of knights diagree in a lot of the things so to ave a leader they have a tournament where a knight of each clan fights untill one survives and the leader of that clan is the king for the year so i made the set in mecabricks but i tried to upload it to this bricklink desginer program thing but because i didnt make it in bricklink studios they dont let me what do you think of the set
