Dude, that is so rad! The clear tanks filled up with ammo are so INTIMIDATING. Awesome builds and fun video! I may be requesting your help in building a similar rig shortly *tactical wink*
Not sure if this was intentional but, this felt like a pilot for a TV show and I mean that in the best way possible! If y’all had a show (imagine American chopper but with nerf) I’d watch every episode!!
O My God this is amazing! I fell like this hobby is finally the recognition that it deserves! Thank you Luke for representing Nerf enthusiasts so professionally!
Absolutely amazing! I love how even during such a huge crunch you were still able to film and document so much of the build process! And it's edited so well to keep it entertaining the whole time. Excellent work, and thank you for continuing to share the hobby to the world, Luke and team!
Awesome job with this my friend, with the build and the video! Actually got to meet Alex from Proto-pasta this weekend at MRRFX. Really nice guy. Hopefully one year you can make it out for the event.
This was a really awesome blog. Really liked seeing a behind the scenes of the type of stuff required for small gimmicks on TV and the crazy time requirements. Its wild the deadline was so short notice.
This is awesome! I am so thrilled you pulled this off so fast, and brought so much great attention to the hobby! Also, on a personal note, the timing on this video couldn't be better; I'm in major crunch time getting a Proton Pack project built for Endwar. And this video arrived at a great time to fire up my spirit to keep working on it to make sure it's done and awesome before I drive it out to Rochester. Thanks for the awesome content!
That was really enjoyable to watch. That's just a labor of love and a thrill all at the same time! You really got creative with your stuff I like it and I think it was a nice collaboration. Hope we see more of this in the video was excellent.
Thanks for the behind the scenes footage, it was cool to see the design process and all the difficulties your team encountered. The scale and organization of the warehouse and the business was really admirable!
Thank you for showing us the detailed creative process... Love workflow videos like this. Just gotta take it one step at a time. And don't let the little set-backs detract from the project 🤘
Luke & Team - EXCELLENT JOB! I remember you had 22 printers, now your up to 80 with an amazing workspace. (Robo-vacs is a great idea!) As a designer and printer, I appreciate the behind the scenes / re-prints and "ad-hoc" design changes on the fly. Great Job!!! -Mike
Really cool video. Was grate to see behind the scenes how big projects like this get done. Congraz on all the success and acknowledgement, you and the hobby have come a long way since 2016 when I first got into it and it's amazing
Loved all the hard work your team and you put into the project and this video. I really liked the longer format and more intimate looks into how your shop ticks. Keep it up.
Amazing!!!!!!!! Such a great video..Thank you for posting this. Much Respect to your Team on a job well done and Congratulations again on all of your well deserved success!!!!!!!!
This was super entertaining. I would watch every show you made! Make it a weekly show of y'all making crazy stuff like this. Cary, well done my man! Nice to see Jess and Smashley too!
Luke, Greg, Perry, Tarik, Ashley, Jessica, and everyone else at OOD that I didn’t name all rule!!! You guys are all so awesome. To come up with this build from scratch in 3 weeks with only 2 weeks to build and STILL send out your customer orders first is simply amazing. Companies around the world could learn some things about customer service from OOD. Just added a mighty mama to my order this morning when I saw this video! Thank you for the awesome content!
Great video, thanks so much for sharing the story! I always love a project with a deadline, the time spent frantically troubleshooting and repairing up until even the final demonstration is such a great way to bond with your team. These blaster setups were awesome too! Are you ever going to release a guide or something so that other people can know how to make similar builds? Thanks again, well done on such a brilliant project! 💙
1/3 into the video and just want to say thank you for taking us through the entire process! Absolute love the honesty of showing what it takes. This is the truth of development people… take notes ^^
I loved watching this on TV, and now seeing behind the scenes. My only gripe is that the hobby, and more especially yourself didn't get the shout-out you truly deserved. I know production and contracts have their eccentricities, but I would like for more people to know about the wild and wonderful things that our hobby is capable of. P.S. - I remember that EndWar 2018 build. I was in your group for the first mission. You pulled off some cool tags with it.
Love too see the behind the seen. Also love to see the new blasters. And did you call it a meg momma? If you produce it I will love to get one. Got my best friend a papa for his birthday and love playing with it
It was so cool to see this. As I'm shaking my girlfriend and neerding out, "oh my gawd proton packs and Jupiters!" And we cannot hear anything on TV she says "they're out of darts". I think my brain glitched or something I was so excited.
loved this video, you are welcome to keep doing this type of content up as I loved it. but I know the realities of the limitation of time too... great work keep it up!!
This was so cool!!! Thank you for putting this together. I want the shoulder mount brackets!!! Are you selling the shoulder mount brackets???? Please please sell those!
Totally awesome! Thanks for sharing. It was awesome to see something from our very niche hobby on a mainstream show. Hopefully it adds exposure to the hobby and grows your business.
Just a thought, if you create a coupler with a removable divider in the middle you can put the top cannister on without the potential of spilling any balls. Once connected, remove the divider and blast away. Amazing project!
do you think having an independent peer review from someone else in the ship prior to significant print jobs would be worth while? help reduce reprints.
Maybe? I believe we might've cut the bit explaining it, but the major reprint of the build came down to the fact Tarik and I printed the Mighty Mama blasters over the weekend. I imagine if we planned to use them in the first place, we would have left printing to our print tech Carey and they would have been in the correct colors.
@@outofdarts ah that part too but I was at the part where Luke was working on the wrist stuff. I know designing on short schedule like this isn't the norm, though. so introducing a peer review step might be too process heavy.
Quite interesting, and inspiring to see the r&d process for all that. Great work! -Side note, I need to get me a berserk hoodie like Greg's, it is absolutely killer.
any welts from getting pelted with all the rival rounds? also looking forward to the mighty mama to come out that looks awesome would love to add it to my small but certainly going to grow collection of your proud papa works and such. love your vids and your website cant say anything bad about my experience with your stuff :D
I'm speechless. You and your team absolutely ROCK! I've been waiting for something like this to happen for awhile. I'll be pumped if the suit ever makes it to mass production level for all of us nerf noobies to buy it! 😃 Super excited for more vids Luke! Keep up the AWESOME work! perhaps not seven hours worth of footage though. . . .😂😂
The arm-mounted blasters are called Mount Olympus, and the project is currently on the back burner due to the circuit board shortage. Hopefully we'll have some updates about them in the next two years.
Because of the ongoing circuit board shortage, we're currently out of stock on many components needed for blasters on our shop, including the board for the Proton Pack. If you want to get notified when we're ready to start selling Proton Packs again, click the "email me when available" button on the listing.
Ya know, I wish my soldering was good enough to do it for a living. I need more practice. The Mom variant is cool, something beefier. I was honestly more excited for that when I saw the TV Spot than the proton packs haha
Is it possible? Maybe. However, the first generation of Elite 2.0 is notoriously hard to open without damaging the blaster. If you want an improved set of triggers for the Perses, I'd recommend our comfort triggers available in our mod kits or separately on our site.
Luke had like five mental breakdowns lol, the rest of the team must’ve been super stressed as well. I hope you guys were heavily rewarded for this in some way.
3200 rival rounds that’s at least $600 in ammo, and that’s at a steep discounted price. Anyways those blasters are indescribably awesome. I can’t wait for the Mighty Mommas to be available.
Your kids are so over-exposed to the coolest things in the world, they're so nonplussed. Seriously, I'd take that monkey paw and trade places, that warehouse is a childhood dream.
Man, this vid is super good, but the title/thumbnail seems clunky to me. If the thumb had the text "NERF SUPERSUITS" and a simple image of a suit shooting someone, with the YT title "I almost ruined Jimmy Kimmel Live" then I think clickthrough would probs go up a ton. just my 2 cents ;P
