Hey everyone!
I've had a lot of questions over the last year about what my involvement level was with ROKBUGY, since I stopped making the progress videos on the car. The truth is that as we inched closer to SEMA, I spent less time in the shop recording and more time working.
We bought this car originally to build a Class 11 race vehicle, but then it sat for about 7 months, fully sandblasted, until Nic from the Rockstar Garage rolled a 43" Mickey Thompson up next to it one day and said "Hey... I have a crazy idea..." At that time, I had lost my momentum on my project because of a career change and limited time off. So, I went home and pitched the idea to Steph, and then we agreed that it would be better to do something crazy with this car rather than let it collect dust and rust.
So, we partnered with Nic on the build and then began the massive undertaking of creating a Jeep JK frame to fit a VW body and vice versa... We made great progress even though times were tougher than usual with everything going on in our lives at the time, and we were mostly wrapped up on body work by September, which left us just a couple of months to do... well, everything else... And that's basically where my footage gets a little spotty. This car was being modified around the clock, so there were also days where I'd come up to the shop and the doors were cut in half or the top was cut off or a whole new floor was built and I had to jump right into that progress.
In order to share this with you all, without making it 5 hours long, I put together a sequence of content that makes sense in a timeline. If you want to see more on this build, head over to the Rockstar Garage youtube channel and search for ROKBUGY. It's a very popular build!
Thanks for watching.
