It always hurts listening to QT retell that human trafficking story, bc she's always so 'I'm so embarrassed' and 'I can't believe I was stupid enough to fall for it'... When it's not that stupid at all... First of, victim blaming is never the right way to go about it, but second of, that's not like a 'obvious scam' in any way. They have your info, personal details like family, your location, it's an authority in the 'IRS', so you're not exactly gonna easily risk questioning it... It's just always so sad listening to QT beat herself up about 'falling for such an obviously scam', when she has nothing to feel embarrassed about... She was almost human trafficked, and after it all she's left thinking 'yeah I was so stupid'... Like girl... Please, stop insulting yourself over this 😭. She reacted like any normal person would.

Her story needs to be heard. If there's even a small chance that other people could be victimized, and people hearing her story could help, it deserves to be heard.

The trafficking story is terrifying to me because you have to think how much research they did on QT to know all of that and be ready to follow her in a car after she left her job. Makes you think how long they have been scouting her out because they saw a beautiful woman and wanted to do terrible things to her. I'm so scared of this world and the evil that resides in it, yes there is good, but damn the evil is horrifying.

I’m in security, and QT’s story is something I’ve never heard of before. That was unusually high-effort. QT was definitely targeted and cyberstalked. I do not blame her for falling for it, one bit.

QT wouldn't be dumb for falling for that scam regardless, but especially when she received the call at work and it was prefaced by both the receptionist and her boss taking it seriously. An authority figure/colleague treating the call as credible would make it way harder to question than if it happened when she was alone.

firstly, so extremely glad that she was not abducted and that the call dropped before they could tell her to park under the building. secondly, a lot of the time i cringe too hard to watch scam call videos but this was so absolutely enjoyable they riff off each other perfectly. best scam call video ive ever seen hands down

I'm kinda "indian," my grandparents were born in India then migrated to Pakistan to escape religious persecution, and i hate how often these types of scams happen where people lose millions collectively and it ends up making people have a negative connotation about SE Asians. I was smiling and laughing through all of it (not QT's story about the trafficking though, that was honestly terrifying and I'm so so so glad it failed). Interesting show. I got into scambaiting after hearing of residents at our retirement community who lost money to them, so I started a newsletter detailing scams and act as a resource person. I encourage them to call me if they get any weird messages or emails and I do a class demonstrating how scams work and what to watch out for. I really think education is critical in helping to prevent people from getting scammed.

My dad convinced me a student loan scam was legit and I gave them all my info and felt dumb for quite a while until I realized the whole premise of these scams are to prey on your fear and pressure you with short time windows. QT shouldn't feel bad, and neither should anyone else who gets caught up in one, like Kitboga said, if you had a minute to think about it you'd probably realize something was up.

My mom almost fell for this email scam because she had used Geek squad in the past. I had to explain to her that it was a scam, and show how she can tell when something like that is a scam. Educate the older people in your life.

I don't think I'd call the human trafficking attempt a scam. She was targeted and they did their homework. They knew her name, where she worked, her cell phone number, people she knew, and the car she was driving. That's very convincing. Fooling her boss too really helped to sell it.
