I have an attempted murder on my surveillance. The victim knows the perpetrator, gave the police his address and phone number, and we picked up some of the shells in the street from the gun that was used. They never even opened a case.
@@mr.pierre5644 law enforcement. Not crime prevention. They will in all likelihood get there too late to do anything to prevent a crime and when they do arrive, it is also a statistical likelihood that is when a crime will be committed. Think about it.
Future reference for anyone who finds themselves in the same situation, avoid running in straight lines in one direction and make the vehicle have to turn around every chance you get...in the beginning of the video, the SUV was right next to her but she continues to run in the same direction, had she turned and ran back the way she came, it would have given her a better chance to put distance between them.
Hard to make decisions when your being chased like that it's fight or flight. Plus adrenaline. You ever been chased like that in a life or death situation? Hard to make that call for anyone. But still best advice

I was with a good friend who wasn't as lucky as me. They ended up passing from being run over. It's easy to say what you need to do, I know, but if it's in the back of your mind somewhere, hopefully you'll subconsciously make the right move if you need to.
I remember being in bed with my partner and hearing the neighbour going crazy at his wife at 2am while they had two babies at home. We called the police and the look on his face when the riot van came and took him away was priceless (we watched from the window) He never spoke to us again but we never heard anything either so maybe he learnt his lesson.
The woman has been identified by her family and they say they've seen her several times since this happened. Apparently it's a domestic issue. Police still haven't talked to her but they want to just to be certain that she really is ok and I'm sure to see if she needs help getting out of a bad situation.
Seems as though the family should know who's vehicle that is then & it should be pretty easy to do a welfare check. Many ppl are concerned for her safety. My cousin left the very first time in her domestic abuse relationship & he became her stalker, eventually killing her. I pray she realizes this IS NOT LOVE & LEAVES. 💜🥀🕊

Anybody chasing down a person so recklessly, domestic or not is a psycho and needs to be in jail for a long time . people need to get a grip on themselves. I'm thinking laws need to be tightened up and enforced. This stuff is all to common and rarely a one time event..there's generally a history with this type which is an indication they know they will get a slap on the hand. We need people to vote right and get people in offices that will uphold the laws and crack arce

This reminds me to the time we saw a women running away on the street, screaming and crying. Her husband was chasing her and trying to get her back into the house. My dad stopped the car and tried to help the woman, then other people came in and called the police so the husband ran away. She was scared because her husband was violent with her. I've also called the police because of domestic violence. We heard a woman's scream coming from my neighbors. It was her husband hitting her. Even tho we know not all men are the same, this is why we have to be cautious around most men. It's so much more common than you think.
If someone is of good health, we need to always try to help when we can. A couple instances of verbal abuse in public, and I intervened, told the guys to stop it, and you don't treat anybody that way. One time a woman (I am a woman) heard me confront a guy, and said she couldn't believe I did that. I told her, "Hey, no big deal, people are around, and he's just a young punk." I wasn't in gangland or anything. Don't know, but maybe growing up as a tomboy, and bugging the hell out of brothers until they wrestled me, made me not so scared. So far, easy situations to intervene as far as I am concerned. Had another instance happen where I grabbed a couple cans of dog food to whack a tall guy off of his lady friend in a 7/11. I was the only customer in the store. The funny thing was he didn't flinch, he was zoned out in mental illness land, didn't even feel it, and didn't even see me, even though I was jumping in front of him, and yelling at him to get away. I learned a little bit about mental illness that day. Always help people out if you can.
Offended men who accuse women of being sexist when they’re wary with men need to realize men and women act very f***ing differently, clearly when most people you see that initiate crimes and aggression are men. It's more common than you would think for women to be abusers as well. Sadly though, men are not taken seriously when they come forward. I'm watching the Johnny Depp - Amber Heard defamation Trail right now and I really hope that he wins it. He previously was on deferred adjudication for assault on a family member against the woman in July of last year after he allegedly kicked her in the face and body. The woman told authorities at the time that he did not kick her and that her injuries were due to her “falling face-first into a coffee table.”
They have to stop labeling with "domestic". That carries such a casual connotation and law enforcement generally does not pursue a case if it is classified as such. "Oh, it's another domestic"....I've heard our own local law enforcement say this many times. If it's violence, it's violence. Threat or act of bodily harm.
I have close friends in law enforcement who say domestic violence cases are some of the most dangerous for officers because they never know what they’re walking into. In some cases when arresting a husband/boyfriend for beating the woman the woman will actually attack the officer arresting him, so danger can come from all sides.

I was a 911 Dispatcher. And I'm also a survivor of domestic abuse. Even having a law enforcement background I was not taken seriously. "Separating" you for the night doesn't stop DV. It can make it worse. It can actually make it deadly. I remember the first time we were "separated" for the night. I paid dearly. Survivors of DV need to unite more often like with the protests that started in the UK over their lax standards and failure to protect someone who may be crazy, may have had a drink at dinner, and then may have accidentally looked at someone pass the table and then was interrogated for hours until I admitted I was looking in his general vicinity for whatever reason he wanted me to admit to, and I got scared and wanted to run, but humiliating him by him having to leave for the night. No, Law Enforcement, that is not help. And look at all the countless people who were locked in their homes with their abusers during quarantine.. no voice, no out, no help.. no me, anymore. I'm alive, but now I'm too afraid to live. Who is stopping this? Nobody.
I hear you, but the difference is a domestic violence victim chooses to be with the perpetrator. That is not victim blaming, but it can be hard to resolve a bad situation when the parties are in a relationship. Based on people I've known, the police are called over and over again to try and fix it. We have neighbors where she kicks him out on a regular basis after a "domestic" with cop cars in front of the house. Then, we will notice he is back doing yard work or something. The solution for the woman is to leave, and then own a gun she knows how to use. Maybe if more women shot the man dead you wouldn't hear about gender based violence so much. It really is unrealistic to think the police can fix it. First they can arrest a guy but if the courts don't choose to lock him up he's back out again. Our system of justice just does not lock people up for long periods based on something they haven't done yet. When I was in this situation I thought of the person as a wild animal that was following me that I might have to kill if it attacked. You don't call 911 if a grizzly attacks. Get a gun and protect yourself. Don't live with something that might attack you.
Three years ago, a guy gave chase to me, while I was riding back home in my wheelchair. I started screaming "help!!!", as loud as I could, a motorist stopped. And asked what's the problem? As the guy stood on the corner curb, I said,that guy is trying to mug me. Can you follow me home? And he did, I was so appreciative, for that man's help. I never travel again,out after dark alone or in daylight. Times are too scary. If your disabled, stay alert and notify someone if your going out, preferably in daytime.
Get a family member or friend to get your groceries etc. I know u want to be independent and not bother people but times are evil. Where do u live? I can help. I helped my parents and brother before they died. U can call like Walmart to deliver your food. Shop online even sams club where someone can get your order and bring to you. Also your meds can be mailed like cvs. Just go out early morning be home by noon

I don't go out,I have ptsd,anxiety & depression but I am thankful that I have a home to be in to where I don't have to go out but although when I do go out my fiance drives me other then that I don't go. They closed the case because they thought she was lying, then opened the case again after the video. Shows they never attempted to investigate and ignored her until a video surfaced. The police are useless in this country. A simple street walk and knocking on doors would have gotten this video.

The other 4 were pushed out or fired for their complaints against criminal activities in their respective departments. I had to cringe when the reporter wondered if it was domestic. My father was cruel, sadistic drunk who physically and psychologically tortured Mom and all us kids. He actually tried to kill Mom 3 different times. My head was bashed against the door jam to the point of unconsciousness. He was a former amateur wrestler. I was in and out for 3 days. Mom didn't know if I would live or die but he refused to allow her to take me to the hospital. He locked me in the basement and for over two hours made me repeat, "The snakes are going to get me", Mom begging and pleading with him until he started smacking her around. It was the 60s. Those are just the tip of the iceberg. The locals were aware but called it domestic and claimed it was family business...they wouldn't "interfere". We lived out in the country, isolated. Finally, during the 3rd attempt, when she managed to run down the road, bloody, dress torn, hair pulled out the neighbor she went to for help called for State Police to arrest as a trespasser...a fact that sickens me to this day! She hid until they arrived. Fortunately there was finally a officer responding that didn't consider domestic violence "family business". State Troopers collected us from school as though we were being arrested, not telling us what was going on or where we were headed. I heard fellow students asking, "Why is she being arrested? What did she do? I was in 3rd grade. I was the 2nd oldest and had to calm down my sisters who were hysterical. NEVER DISMISS "DOMESTIC" AS FAMILY BUSINESS...IT'S A CRIMINAL VIOLATION! So when I hear something being dismissed as "domestic", I SEE RED!!!

When I was a 12 yrs old in Houston back in like 1986 a drunk dad was chasing his whole family in the school yard with his truck. I knew 1 of the kids and they ran into my back yard and to my backdoor. I knew my friend was embarrassed but he tried to normalize it. I felt bad for him and never brought it back up.

Judging by the way they chased her in broad daylight and through a residential area, with her screaming like that surely it's either someone she knows personally or she's in a neighborhood where peoples don't give a darn about what happens to other people's. Americans need to come out of their safe places and spend more time outside getting to know their neighbor's and their neighborhoods/communities that way strangers will stick out like sore thumbs and they will be to afraid to do anything towards peoples who watch out for one another. Back in the day we had zero to few child abductions, women abductions, robberies, break-ins, shooters. Why? because there was always grandmothers sitting on front porches, grandfather's sitting with them, father's after work fixing on their cars with other father's talking about sports, young men washing their cars or playing some sport, kids riding bikes, roller skating, dog's running and playing with the children; and believe me when I tell you all of the adults had watchful eyes on everything and everyone. Now they have laws against being outside on the front of your homes and apartments, they don't like seeing peoples congregate in the front of their homes they say it brings down the value of the neighborhood properties, Lol. I guess they don't consider crimes going up as a devalue of property in neighborhoods and communities. I pray this young girl life is spared, and whoever got her is caught and brought to just judgment for his/her crimes against the liberty of this girl.

I had a ex boyfriend about 7 years ago kidnap me after I broke up with him held me captive for days I managed to break lose one night and chased me into dark woods beside his house. For hours I kept moving and running to hide I could hear him yell my name for what seemed like forever he was close so many times then he gave up. Thank God I got away from him. He was crazy. He almost killed me several times. He chased me down in his truck and almost ran over me one day when I said I was leaving. If people have never been in that kind of situation it’s hard for them to understand how scary it is to get away and keep yourself safe. My family thought he was the best guy and he had told them I was crazy. Well now they know but for a few years they didn’t.

I have never and will never walk away from trying to help someone that is being bullied, assaulted or chased by anyone. We as a society need to step up and help our fellows citizens cause sometimes law enforcement fails us. I'm not saying all but many do nothing which is why communities don't trust the police or share what they have witnessed with them. I am tired of hearing people say they don't want to get involved cause know more than ever we need to have each other's back. I sure hope if I ever need help that someone would step up to help me and not walk away.
Been thru something similar at a park. My boyfriend, me, a friend and her boyfriend were chased by a big truck and 2 drunk (assumed) men back in late 1970's. We were on foot. We tried to stay together but was hard to do. We ended up getting into a river and pray they didn't also and the current didn't carry any of us away. Scarred the crap out of us. Nothing we could do..it was a rural park. The place we got chased into was an area that was wooded and was between a river and the park had 2 track trails thru it. These guys finally gave up and we were able to get back to the car. I married my boyfriend and he also did these things to me and much more. I hope this lady is safe! I can totally relate.

This is actually too traumatic for me to watch!! Reminds me of my deranged ex chasing after me in fields and neighbourhood ambushing me out of school!! Had a knife in his hand!!! I was absolutely petrified!!! The chase went on for what felt like hours!! In my neighbourhood and somehow in that bloody time the whole neighbourhood was a ghost town!! No one came to help!!
That's what I'm sayin. But the fences look pretty high to try and jump over. However, when you're running for your life... it's amazing what the body can accomplish.

This is so scary. When i tried to leave my ex husband he kidnapped me from work. If it was not for people hearing me scream i prob would be dead. I thank my coworkers daily for calling police right away. After a short police chase of the highway at VERY high speeds they boxed us in and he stopped. I hope shes okay

I'm so glad we are alive, but I live alone in my pain and fear. It's calculated, on the abusers part. They actually plan how they can strip you of everything, and replaced it with the idea that you loved someone capable of this. There needs to be more awareness so my granddaughter doesn't walk into this.. I realize your situation was not mine, but at the heart of I believe we're the same.
@@jenkbade I agree with you but it's not just men. My ex- wife would punch me awake if I fell asleep when she felt like an argument. Very disordered family life growing up and she wouldn't get help. I blamed myself for her violence bla bla bla you know exactly what I mean, she would say she was" sorry" and then tell me what I did that made her do it. Everytime I hear a woman that has gone through it I know exactly how she feels. I am 6' she was 4' 6" just FYI.

They have to prioritize possession of money cases for civil asset forfeiture revenue. Checking the Ring network or making a statement to the press would divert resources. I miss the old days when a large department would put more time into a violent crime report than the length of the call reporting it. Someone should have focused on the destruction of city property part in reporting it.
When situations such as this occur they do not end until the person removes themselves from this sick individuals. I'm hoping she now far away from this abuser & safe in an undisclosed life. It will take her time to adjust, so I'm praying she has the support she needs to recover & begin life afresh from the terror she endured.

They say it can take up to 8 attempts to succeed in leaving an abusive relationship. Firstly, because they have destroyed all self esteem in the victim and they’ve been told repeatedly that “they could never make it on their own”….that’s the verbal and psychological abuse…. And then it’s the fear of how the abuser will react! Most won’t give up on the relationship and make convincing promises that they will change… or either never accept it and will kill you if you leave! I’ve left an abusive relationship in the past and he was constantly harassing me, stalking me, and telling me he wanted to kill me! It’s been 12 years and I’m still afraid to go out in public. I’m always looking over my shoulder! Sadly it has caused me to have social anxiety and I was a social butterfly :-(
Let me get this straight. You want more detectives to investigate crimes but you want fewer cops to stop crimes? Umm, you do know that detectives are cops right? Please update us as soon as possible the whereabouts of this young woman. Hopefully someone will recognize that SUV and contact police. I don't have a good feeling..I hope I'm wrong.
I was surprised to see in person how little people want to help when they hear screams. One evening in my apartment complex, a lady screamed help me in the parking lot. I was talking to neighbors prior to that and when we heard it, I ran and stopped a man who was kicking her, not letting her get out of a car. When the police arrived, they asked me why nobody else talked or helped me. I did not know. In the following days I asked neighbors and they thanked me, but most had their reasons (mostly selfish) for not helping such as current legal issues, not their business, scared, on drugs, drunk... it was disappointing to say the least. In my favor, there was a person who was driving by that called police and most of the altercation could be heard on audio. That call was a big piece of evidence to put the scumbag away. We later found out the guy had taken her(adult women) from her family, drugged her, raped her, held her captive and was trying to put her in the car to take her to another person and sell her. It's just crazy how much worse it could have been for her had I just ignored it.
My mom chased me across a lot in her car when I was a teenager. I squeezed through a fence she couldn't drive through. When she found me she beat the shit out of me. Kids go through stuff and check out the people who the car belongs to. They could be the parent
@@GreenEyeGemini my mom's husband tried to sa me. She accused me of trying to steal her man instead of protecting me, she attacked me followed by spreading lies and gossip about me to cover for him and make nobody to believe me.
Why are people commenting about it being domestic, domestic or any other excuse is no reason to do that, doesn't matter what the reason is its wrong that poor girl is screaming for her life, we live in a horrendous world where no one is safe, this is horrific please find her safe🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
The smart thing to do is to look up all Ford escapes with that color and that year and go to people's houses and check the cars for DNA. Just have a search warrant in that video and I'm pretty sure that people will understand it will be fine with their cars being checked
