Jonas yes 💪 running like this in his condition and always being fair chapeau to him but Tadej is unbearable provocateur always crying together with his crying fans 😂 Just funny people to watch when you understand the game 😂
there is nothing to be ashamed of for jonas vingegaard, even if he wont get the tour win this year. the performance he already showed us is totally amazing coming from his crash. true heart of a champion.
Both are phenomenal, but the way Tadej rides is pure enthusiastic.. and the most muscular at the finish line.. great performance 💪🏻 Lets hope the are both safe and healthy
I’m pulling for Tadej, but I LOVED the spark in Jonas’ eye when the reporter asked him if it’s still possible to win!!! Let’s go!!!! Battle Battle Battle!!!
@@stka3484 He is a breath of fresh air to the cycling world. Is not boring. He just loves to ride the bike. He is a great sportsman and a very positive person. He races the one day classics and above all he makes it fun and entertaining to watch.
@systemicchaos3921 Last year was a completely different situation. Pog was the one recovering from an injury and Jonas had a dominant ‘23 Jumbo team. Neither of those two things are in play this year. 😀😀
@@Ktmdubb this Last TT this year fits him Way less thon Last year, There's à big climb but after its 20km, made for pure TT specialists like remkoe. It Will be mainly determined by Who is more fresh after those 3 weeks, and i dont see pogi break in 3rd week
@@kivori3438 i believe the TTs would be the separation on time. They most likely be within 10 seconds of each other. Trading bonus seconds type of thing.
I am surprised by the form of Vinegaard after his serious crach He sounded positive and will see what is his impact on Pogacar in days to come Wish the riders all of the best Be safe and do your best Thank you for bringing excitement when we can watch you guys racing
Jonas VIngegaard, losing half a minute, losing a whole minute : always happy and positive. I wonder how many psychologists and public relations managers are employed by these cycling teams.
Super stage! Glad Jonas is back considering where he was 3 months ago. As for the fans, some should be fined. Where’s the UCI? What’s the purpose of putting a bag of chips in front of the rider’s faces? Why did that father put his daughter right in front of Pogi?! These people are so rude. And booing?! Pfff
Jonas is always truthful and straightforward in his analysis. He congratulated TP and yet rightfully acknowledged his excellent performance. I hope tomorrow is his day to shine.
Truthful? He said he was happy with his performance after losing 43 secs. He said he gained time on steep sections - he never did, only gained a few meters when Pog was resting after attack. Straightforward? He said he was happy but also... not happy... but not unhappy. 🙄
@@weibenliebyou don't understand having mixed emotions? A little context, Jonas had a bad crash this year. He has said all along he expected to do worse. He is happy he is performing well but not so happy that he still lost time. Completely reasonable assessment.
@starlitshadows If you actually believe he is happy with his performance losing another 40 plus seconds I have a great bridge I’ll sell you at a cheap price. The Brooklyn Bridge. LOL
@@starlitshadows A contender for victory cannot be happy on the day when he probably lost the race. It's fantastic Jonas is that good after crash, yet still he said himself he's in shape to win. And his data are better than last year, at least so I heard. Athlets say a lot of bs, and Jonas should obviously not just give up, but at least some honesty is always welcome.
Great performance by Jonas and I'm sure there's some fight left for the yellow jersey. But Tadej is just a bit more exciting to watch at the moment, but it's all for the benefit of fans and the sport. But real fans don't boo riders or throw things at them, I hope they get identified.
its beyond incredible as Pog fanboy i though he will be minutes behind by first week hes performance is insane considering crash and bad injuries 3 months ago Tour is far from over we have 3 big mountain stages left + TT so he can still possibly get it we will see
Gente .. il Giovannino è stato in terapia intensiva 3 mesi fa.. ma sta facendo miracoli .. 3 mesi senza corse , gli manca il fondo, il fondo si fa correndo ... io sto con Giovannino ❤
Jonas became so good in this interviews. Days before, he commented that the real mountains are still coming, therefore the lead of Tadej is not a problem. Today, after the first mountain stage, he changed his objectives and reminds everyone that this stages was too easy at the end, once the real mountains come he will attack. Furthermore, you saw his fire in the eyes, as someone asked him, if the 2 min lead of Tadel is not too much. He gave up to be the nice guy, and shows us the color of a real Grand Tour Champion, always attacking your opponent on and off the bike. This, his tactics and the crazy nutrition Visma has (last year Time trial with power numbers never achieved from him before or after), Visma great knowledge about Nutrition in general, Tadej and UAE questionable tactics and nutrition ( loves too much racing), will lead to fireworks in the next days. Good luck to both of them, and any other rider.
He's a good guy. He may not attack every stage but he is a monster climber and measured in his approach. Quite tough as well given that he is back fighting already.
Well said. He has become mature objective knowledgeable and fair minded. Given the circumstances ie his serious horrid almost fatal injuries and his short recovery time he is amazing. Objectively he when fully healed and on mountainous steep climbs he is the best cyclist in the world. On the flats and downhills Pogacar is slightly better. Both are fine amazing athletes.
The scary part is that he's completely right; his numbers were, by any normal standard, excellent. This was not a "bad day" or anything close to it. It's just that "normal standards" didn't really apply to Pogacar. In terms of pure watt/kg numbers, his performance today were probably the best since the 1990's, and he absolutely shattered the record on this climb set by Armstrong. And that's with the Giro in his legs, and having Covid just a couple weeks before the start.
@@MatthewWilliamLeamington Mate, I've spent the last several years trying hard to be a believer, often telling myself all of those obvious arguments that you're listing here, and many others, so that I can continue loving this sport I've followed for 30 years. But there simply comes a point where suspension of disbelief becomes too difficult, or requires too much mental effort. I think I'm at my limit. At a certain point, I need to be able to look myself in the mirror, and I cannot do that if my suspension of disbelief turns into willful ignorance.
@@jmsytbeyou'd be suprised the difference in doing proper interval work and taking in 120 grams of carbs does for people with their kind of output. What Lance was taking carb wise back then was a fraction of what they take in. When you take into account how much they burn with their power numbers its not suprising they needed drugs as a crutch to do what they did. I can't say for sure whether they are clean. But these guys at the top are tested more than anyone. They'd need ways like Lance to beat the tests at this point. Possible but testing protocols are likely more advanced now than back then.
Pogacar today made sure that Jonas must be more than a 100 percent back to form to gain time on Pogacar sufficient to threaten his third title. The odds are heavily in his favour.
Pogacar looked very strong going up the mountain and those short downhill sections up the mountain gave Pogacar a break before the last bit. UAE rode very well today
pogis ride was just incredible. i agree with jonas he did very well, maybe he can do a bit better but hes very close to his best level for sure. tadej is just flying.
Pogs getting better stronger 💪 and his team also is world's best they will win 🏆 it ❤️ without doubt all this dribble chat 😂 means zero , so soon Pogs resume will read 3 wins 🏆 TDF 2 second places and one 1st in Giro; that's called pure class at 25 years; go THE POG AND 3 CHEERS FOR ALLEN PIEPER his mentor and much praise for PETER BROTHERTON, Allen's mentor both from Melbourne ❤❤❤❤❤😅 😊
Not surprising considering Pog's race weight is probably at least 7-8kg more than Vingegaard, if he was really putting out 7w/kg today as I heard then that is a 50W difference on those flatter sections which really makes a difference. Although it has to be said that last km kicked back up again and he lost quite a bit of time there I think too.
"Jonas.....is it still possible to win the tour?"....Jonas..... 👀..... Monday is rest day. Something is telling me that tomorrow a heavy battle will take place...
It makes sense for Jonas to be happy with his performance, but disappointed at the same time for losing time to Tadej. Being 2nd place out of a field of 200 cycling champions is something to be proud about.
What can he do, if you have not a perfekt day and your opponent is such a crazy kid that uses every chance to attack, at the end its good for all have top riders whit different tactics so its not this booring ineos shit we saw years
Tadej has cracked the last couple years. He is hoping to endure and that the repeated attacks will make that happen. Also the fact he is riding into form and tends to get better as the Tour goes on. It may not be enough or too little too late. But this is what he is hoping for.
@starlitshadows Get real. Tadej cracked in ‘22 only because Jumbo had 2 legit GC contenders in Roglic and Vingegaard and they each took turns attacking him while the other rested on multiple stages. No rider is going to hold up to that type of 2-1 disadvantage. Then in last years Tour, Tadej was riding injured with a broken wrist and an injured scapula the entire Tour when he crashed just before that Tour started. Totally different situation this year!
@@ivanboesky1520 That's Tadej's fault for following an injured Roglic. Not to mention stage 18 when he couldn't hang on to Van Aert's pace or Jonas' attack. And you are right it's not the same. A broken wrist isn't comparable to Jonas' injuries. He still cracked. I'm suprised Jonas is even in the race let alone competing at the level he is at. Not sure why you are so effected by my comment.
@@starlitshadows yeah like tadej said in this interview, he loves to race and doesn't always do the smartest decisions, i dont wanna take anythign from jonas, the quote just seemed odd for me, i wonder how tadej will recover after setting the watt record, especially with todays insane stage
I don't understand why fans of the sport get so aggressive either. Probably because they are drunk. They probably wouldn't act like that if they weren't drinking. They should ban alcohol and be checked for it before they are allowed up the hill. That was just insane to watch.
What are you talking about? How would Kuss safe you that many seconds? 😂 If he would safe you so much, it would literally mean he could win the Tour himself...
@@luuzmaster3418 People have to high thoughts about the domestiques. No one can, or in the past could, assist neither Vingegaard nor Pogacar when they go full gas against each other. Same people usually thinks one or the other won mainly thanks to the team. It's man vs man on these climbs, Yates maybe did a 1 second difference today to let Pogacar rest for a while, but he was to slow and Pogacar had to leave him.
@CarmoniusFinsnickeri That is usually true, but it was not true in ‘22 when Jumbo had multiple GC contenders and they each took turns attacking Pogo to wear him out. That was definitely not a one on one mountain competition. It was 2-1 Pogo versus Vingo and Roglic. Even WVA took part in the attacks.
The fact UAE attacked today with a 1:15minute shows how much they fear this man. This race is still alive. This man can pull 2 minutes in one TT remember.
He did a superhuman performance, not just good. Hats off. Plus. He is an extremely smart strategist. And may that clown spectator with the chips be apprehended by the law, for assault, no less.
