This audit takes place outside this Chase bank location, with quite an interesting chain of events that played out . I was first approached by an elderly man questioning why I was outside the bank recording. Soon after, he went over to the security guard who was standing under a tree in the parking lot are, to possibly get some insight from him regarding what I was doing. The elderly man then returned inside the bank, to possibly go alert the staff about my presence on the sidewalk. The man and his wife eventually left & moments later a female employee made her way over to the guard outside . After a short discussion with the guard, both individuals came my way, with the guard approaching asking if I needed any assistance. I noticed he had a handgun in a holster, so I asked the guard to keep a distance from me as I didn't feel 100% safe with him off bank property getting close to me, as long as he had a weapon at his side. The female employee went back inside & approximately 15-20 mins later, an officer from Seal Beach P.D arrived on scene. Almost immediately after he exited his patrol vehicle, he began asking me if i called for service due to the fact the security guard had a weapon. I informed the officer that I did not place a call for police service , but informed him that I did mention what I said previously to the guard. The office then turned to me with what seemed to be a bit of an attitude assuming I was the one who called for service. I told him to check his call records for clarification to who placed the call. He then proceeded to speak with the guard, insisting that I was doing some First Amendment nonsense. I immediately called him out for that remark, then he said what I was doing was nonsense as if I heard him incorrectly, which I did not. I did obtain an incident # for the call. 2303-05952
I also filed a FOIA request for the call record to dispatch for full clarification to who actually called...As of this day, I have not received further information about the call. I will keep you all posted if any further developments take place.
