Time for redemption! In this video, Tommy and David attempt to run the Pond Course in Tommy's Jeep without getting stuck. It did not go as planned! We also took delivery of some bees, worked on leveling the land for our barn, and started the build on our fishing dock.

Would love to see more plants and trees going in. It’d also be helpful to see a cartoon style map of the ranch to get an idea of where everything is in relation to the rest of the ranch

David is good stuff. Work til the work is done, if there is a problem solve it, if there is a challenge over come it, if there is not a tool make it, if there are available resources use them, and have a positive can do attitude so you can enjoy life. The world needs more Davids.

David and Tommy are pretty funny together. Nice to see Tommy learning from David also, David is a wealth of knowledge we all can learn from. Nice job recording and editing. You want to size your kinetic rope by the smaller vehicle, if the rope is to big it will not stretch. Stay safe and healthy.

David has killed it on building all these obstacle courses! Super hard worker, and very educated on the right equipment. Also Tommy’s Jeep shows how capable a stock vehicle can be with proper driving and airing down the tires. Once you guys figured out the kinetic rope, it was a solid option and quicker recovery for the Mule!

The Kinetic Rope is fas becoming the tool for everything off-road. And adding the Bees to tumbleweed ranch is a great idea. But now you need to think about planting plenty of flowering plants. Clover would be a great addition.

An awesome feature of clover as a cover crop is that it is determinate in height. Secondary benefit is feeding Bees and wildlife.

I love this project. It's been great meeting David through this series. He reminds me a lot of my father-in-law, Bud Kinzie, who passed away in March at 99 years old - a lifelong dryland wheat and corn grower in NE Colorado. David has the experience to do just about anything he needs to do, and do it well. He sees an issue, he works out a solution, then he puts it into action. It's hard to imagine how much it would cost to have to hire all of the work done. Who is going to be the first to go swimming, that's my burning question?

It's one thing to have the kinetic rope, but you gotta also use it properly. Taking a 3 foot run before it goes tight isn't enough. Back up and take a good 10ft+ run at it. Give it the beans and let the rope do its job. It will stretch and absorb any impact and prevent damage.

Alright the obstacle where tommy is getting his jeep stuck should be called the “bees knees” cause your knee deep in that mud. Also you also have bees on the ranch. Fun video can’t wait for more!!

I think the camera angle at 23:45 really shows how difficult that obstacle is. I can’t imagine many stock vehicles being able to get through that without snapping something up in the process lol.

You need to plant perennial flower seeds for your Zone for the Bees. It will make your land very pretty. There are also several other type plants the Bees would love. Give the Bees some love. come on.

You can grow grapes for the bees and shade on the arbor. Just hope they don't like your beverages more😆 Hops would be thicker foliage on the arbor (hope Davis beams are strong) and help you make your own beverages.

As much as I love the channel I was getting kind of bored watching videos of the latest trucks but seeing David working on the property made TFL more fun to watch. David is a guy that many us viewers could relate to because of the kind of work he does. It was also fun to watch Tommy road trip video with a new Range Rover or Land Rover to South Dakota.

Why do you all insist on 4 low for mud. 4 low is typically only needed for when you run out of power or when slow control is needed such as rock crawling. In mud you need wheel speed to clean the tires. Put it in 4 high and put your foot down and fling some mud.

In a wrangler you can’t fully disable traction control in 4 hi. Also trust me, pick a high gear in low range and you’ll get plenty of spin

I actually think the spot for tommy keeps getting stuck wont be an issue for anything with a longer wheelbase. I think a 4dr wrangler/bronco would go right through because only one set of tires would be in the mud at any given time. Also, David is awesome!

Back in the day I saw a demo of a British Army FV432 APC recovered from a mud pit with a kinetic rope. It was almost unbelievable - the thing just lifted out as if it were a child's toy. The rope afterwards was too hot to hold - and if broken it would've gone supersonic and sliced through a regular vehicle. Extreme caution is advised when using kinetic methods!

When I saw David backed up enough to get the rope loaded up on the last pull I knew it was going to work! Plus that was a good thickness rope for the mule, any larger and it would struggle to stretch the rope.

Can you guys get a manufacturer to “donate” one of those solar-powered off-grid charging stations? It would be great if you guys could test whether it is realistic to use electric for off-road vehicles and you would actually have a controlled environment there to charge, run and then recharge.
