My first vehicle was a 77 scout two wheel drive with an unkillable 304. Had rust holes all over. I got it for 230 dollars when I was 15. I did all the bodywork and a friend of mines dad painted it for me. Bright orange with a black top. Turned out pretty good for my first project. Sold it a few years later for 300 dollars and a stereo system. That was around year 2000. Nobody wanted them back then.

My favorite is the Rambler, though the De Soto is a screaming deal, especially with the low miles. I think the Dodge pickup would be the trickiest to do a good restoration on; it has some wavy body panels which would take a lot of skill to straighten. I probably would have left it with the original patina and clear-coated it, but now that it is in primer you would be pretty committed to getting it straight.

Of all these, I believe the scout would be the hardest to find parts for. They didn't sell a lot of them, and back then, most were for farm use

That 63 Rambler does NOT have original paint! The full length body side moldings were removed and all of the holes were filled before it was REPAINTED. That makes me wonder how much Bondo is under that resale red paint job.

I saw something on the 63 Rambler 770 that had me wondering, and that’s the “Weather Eye” that was at the bottom of the instrument cluster. I was wondering if it was a rain sensor that automatically turned on the wipers. If so, that strange since Rambler was such a no frills car company.

and.... There's another Rambler.... and for a good price too. I love that 59 Ford Custom. As far as the hardest to restore I'm going to say the 37 Chevy Master, Unless your going hot rod it the parts are going to be REALLY hard to find, especially if you need body panels because most of these cars were 4 doors so the 2 door parts are going to be rare to find at best.

I'm a fan of Clunky Monkeys so the IH Scout would be my pick of the night. Since it needs a clutch already, I would VW, V5 Diesel, swap it for better everything. Your Internet pick was fantastic. I think suicide doors should have been standard on VWs, a that little roadster just proves my point😂.😂😂😂😂

The 1940 Dodge pickup is a beauty that I would use daily. At that price, I could totally rebuild the motor twice just with the first year's interest on some half Chinese piece of junk assembled in Mexico and badged as an American truck. At 70+, I would happily drive that girl for the rest of my life. 😎👍
