My John Frusciante moment: I was playing my songs on music competition, during my performance some of the speakers stopped working, so just first 2-3 rows could hear me, I was really disappointed, coz of that audience didn't vote for me and I didn't get into final round, after gig a guy come to me and said "Are you listening John Frusciante" "I mean his solo work", i said yes, and he said I can hear that in your playing, that was one of my biggest compliments I received, and we continued talking about John, the guy was some music composer and one of the organizers of competition, he wanted me back on the stage, but director said we don't have time

I met John a few times and he had such a calm energy about him that I felt totally comfortable talking to him and he remembered talking with me a previous time we met which was cool. Perks of living in LA. One of my fav guitarists of all time. This doesn't surprise me at all Dave Simpson. That's the kind of guy he is. He will listen to it.

It dosen't surprise me at all that John reacted in such a way and not in a more snobby way. John was never the type to act like a celebrity or even want to be known as a celebrity. He never cared about money or fame. All he ever wanted to do was make good music but away from the mainstream. I think he's been happier since he's not a part of the rhcp anymore. He is truly a unique individual and you can't help but to respect that.

Not only has your hero been exposed to you and you work, but you're good enough to have given him something worthwhile back via music and i'm sure he appreciates it no end.
