I understand coming up with a plan and sticking to it, but if you realize your plan isn’t working at least by halftime, you gotta change it up. Either those fish are going to be there or they aren’t. Either they’re biting or they aren’t. What is proven though, is that they are out there roaming following bait around. So, finding them with FFS is the new way. You can still win it by beating the bank/fishing shallow, but you gotta go find ‘em if that isn’t working.

Mark: Not a good day for fishing, but an amazing day watching you and your wife holding hands as you headed to the dock. That’s the best thing you both can do as you continue life’s adventure. You can bounce back. The fact that you put the work in and brought it back to the original roots of fishing and beating the bank like a lot of us still do was awesome. The way you fished day one brought back memories of watching some of the older pros on how they fished off knowledge of what the bass was supposed to be doing according to weather, water temp, water clarity etc. Man keep it up and if you have to use the FFS to get your bag do what you do.

When I plan on fishing the shallow, I hate to switch up if they are not biting. The one or two times I did switch, I caught them....... but for some reason, I still won't switch up when they're not biting. Go find them bro

Next year throw a 1/2 jig and pig, a Hank Parker Classic 1/2 oz white and chart. spinner bait and a Smithwick Rattin' Rouge tight to the bank and use a baitcaster with 14 mono XT Trilene. green and hang on! You fished old school new school........you need to fish old school old school.

At this point I don’t think there’s any point in ever fishing the bank, especially in MLF format. Even in the BASS five fish format every tournament is getting won with a jig head minnow offshore.
