Speaking of downwind, there's a particular takeoff I would like to have a "do-over" on. It was at Price, Utah in the US. I had the choice of going into the wind, but on a slight uphill grade, and into rising terrain (about the same grade as the runway), or accepting the tailwind and going downhill and into falling terrain. I chose poorly, as the saying goes, and I was barely able to outclimb the rising terrain. There was plenty of runway length to go downwind, too, so don't ask me why I chose the way I did.
