Man, Yusuke Kobayashi is so good at voicing Subaru

That delivery gets me every time.

Then after this he gets the pep talk of his life and almost singlehandedly devises a strategy to demolish obstacles no one in four hundred years had been able to overcome, not even some of the most powerful characters in lore were able to. We all need a Rem in our lives dab nabbit.

"I did nothing" that line was delivered so perfectly...god bless the va for this epic speech that only solidified subaru as my favorite character in this show. That line cut so deep

You know what,s the most pain full part is it that you can relate to his word,s!

Subaru is a human .... a person who has different types of personality.. he laughs he cries, he boast himself to others, he loves,he is hrny, he is not dense, he gives up he despair he's a hardworker, he is talented, he has somethings he cant do, ... same as every human... its because we are human

Honestly, this speech was what sold me on Subaru as a character. The voice acting was so raw, and the words hit really close to home for me, personally.

This is why this is my favorite story, because I can relate with the protagonist.

A human with his actual power of not giving up while being at the deepest pit. You are truly amazing guy Natsuki Subaru.

This speech was so unforgettable & heart breaking, it made me think of 1 anime that might've inspired Re:0 & what anime it inspired to exist in return. It made me want to rewatch a specific ep of Gurren Lagann & read Undead Unluck. There you go. Please finish Re:0 before starting or reading UU. You will not regret it.

I resonate a lot with the speech... and then Rem's follow up. It actually pulled me out of my darkest depression after 3 year. And people say Subaru is a bad character..

Thank you so much for posting this. I just watched ep 7 of The Angel Next Door Spoils me Wrotten and the beauty of that episode reminded me of this episode of re zero. Then rewatching this ep made me wish I had a audio version to listen to at work once and a while. Thanks. A shame we get 6 seasons of MHA and a lot of other anime that aren't all that good but it takes forever to get more out of shows like re zero. I really hope S3 is in the works and we'll see it soon.

Alot of people say alot of animes are relatable to people but this is even more realistic and more relatable. Alot of people dont do anything when they see something happen cuz they know they are weak and are afraid of getting hurt and possibly make things worse. Alot of people pretend to improve and lie to cover up for their falsehood. Alot of people act cocky acting like they accomplished alot when it was merely something simple. Realizing how much you procrastinate, how lazy you are, what little drive you have, and yet sayiny you want something you never worked for is arrogance at its finest. By realizing how much you need to step up is what tears down the old you and builds a better person.

Re:zero has so many good scenes and yet its still too underrated

Still one of the greatest episode in anime i have watched, it’s just so good. Re zero has a lot of good episodes, from ss1 to ss2. The writing is nothing sort of amazing, but this is among the best, the self hate, giving up, getting pulled out, the decision, start from zero, seriously this anime is a goddamn masterpiece. Subaru is also one of my favorite main characters in anime, the sufferings, the character developments, self awareness, and the victories that come after, overcoming impossible odds, really, it’s hard to beat a story this good.

Requiem of Silence from the show goes with this really well, especially since it's a similar length song and the climax is just near the 4-5m mark.. I really like listening to that song in pair with "Who will know" from the Shin Godzilla movie, either after or before Requiem of Silence..

Feelings are what make it hard to give up. But despite this knowledge, I can not say I relate to him. I always sought stimulation from ever since I was little, therefore, everything about me, even my lazy habits, I see as necessary. Well...maybe there is one thing I hate about my teenage years. My extremism in certain opinions. The excessive passion poured into those perspectives, some of them flawed or outright wrong. But I can not complain too much. I learned in time about them.

This cut so deep...extremely deep.

Subaru is a relatable character

this anime deprogramed the childish school life BS right out of me. I love the character of a lot of the isekai world peoples. They just all seem so earnest. Even Anastasia, she was earnestly conning him.

Both the English and Japanese are really good

Admittedly i hated subaru... i found this show leading up to 2019? 2020? kiss anime for me was a vibe and got me into seasonal viewing of anime. i remember having an emotional manic breakdown. ive had manic episodes but this was pretty intense. and... i went to my mothers house and and i'd calmed down and i watched this episode... and i remember being like (it was subbed) "mom you dont know what im watching and this is very surreal but this scene is how i feel." hating yourself is one of the most painful things. toughest thing. flipping the switch and accepting all that you are nomatter what is the hardest and ill admit trippiest thing ever. i remember texting my friend about the show talking shit about subaru... and when all things literally broke i got it... i understood.

I really hate how Rem handle this situation. From her point of view it's only been a few days since she first met Subaru. She speaks as if she knows what's subaru is going through. Although I respect the encouragement, Rem telling him to do the thing he wants to do even when he is giving up on it himself, is probably the most supportive anyone can be

Not gonna lie, I hate this anime. I wanted to like it after all the positive reviews & dropped it after a few episodes. I tried to watch it, but his character just pushes me away because he’s so weak & has this awesome ability that he doesn’t even make good use of. Sucks but it’s proof that good animation can’t always make up for not good story… 😓
