It's insane how good the VA has his Japanese voice's mannerisms and inflection down without sounding weird or off, I genuinely think he might even have put in a better performance after listening to both versions. Love them both, but holy shit, something about English hits different lol
@@spaceytraveller6971 Really, in my opinion the VA timbre/tone is kinda similar for most of the cast, but the way it is delivery (eng/jp) are very different to me even if the line is exactly the same. The jap phonemes is more clear to me, maybe because english is not my first language and my ears can't distinct stuff well enough. Maybe the rhythm and syllables (consonant + vowel always) makes the sounds of japanese more close my native language. Anyway, I love the very prominent Kamen Rider like way of announcing techniques of fighting games
@@itol2201 That aspect stopped being appealing probably since a long time. Coming to the point that pros started complaining more about the games on social media... but in the end they stick around. Since prize money is getting much better in the scene compared to 20 years ago.
It is pretty funny the amount of collateral damage it would do though, especially indoors. Almost as much as the version of Power Geyster from the anime movies I'm surprised they referenced.
I mained him in smash with literally zero experience playing SNK games and found him a lot of fun. Got me to play KoF15 where I also found Terry really fun. Can’t wait to have him be my main in the third series now.
@@cedricgaming5106 It is. It was a bit hard to tell since he's doing dialogue and not short phrases and fight sounds like in other trailers. But I can definitely see why people think he sounds like Luke. Though to be fair, Terry *is* the original Luke as far as personality and character interactions. Both are laidback, chill dudes who love to socialize with other fighters and think of the fight life as an adventure.
After careful review of the footage, I have determined that Terry's Drive Impact would probably get Tundra Stormed by Zangief, so I think Capcom should nerf Gief in the Terry patch. Thank you :)
I haven't seen anyone mention it, but the lens flare on the 3rd hit of Triple Geyser is right out of the P-Power version Garou: Mark of the Wolves. Same color and everything.
Terry just never gets old. I've been playing this guy as my main character in SNK games since KOF2003. Also, Idk if you're interested in older games, but you should 100% try out the Fatal Fury games, they're mad fun even to this day.
Probably not soon, while SF6 is doing so well, and even boosted up further by these guest chars. I believe it has good chances of happening but by the last years of SF6.
My friends and I are all huge SNK fans, so we lost our minds at all the sick little details. If nothing else, Terry was clearly made with a lot of love and meth
Makes me excited to see what they do with Mai too. Will she have her new alt that's in the new game coming out around the same time? Apparently there's a lot of SNK love we didn't even see in the trailer.
I’ve been thinking. You know how Seth has a mix of other characters moves? What if they make “John streetfighter” a real character at the end of the games life(more detailed/proper model) to act as that “mix-of-all” character type.
At least it will be a reprieve from all of the Akumas and then Bisons people were complaining about. (Soon to be followed by hordes of Elenas and Mais.)
I was too busy being impressed by the animations and all the references--including to the anime movies--yesterday that I didn't even see Blue Mary in the background until today. Huh.
As someone who's been there the sf line is basically empty but it's surrounded by the huge monhun line so you have to slip through monhun fans without thek thinkijg you're trying to skip their line
Just played him yesterday at gamescom, he feels REALLY good! New main day 1, like I'm not even playing anymore until he comes out. 😂😂 (City of Wolves is also amazing!)
Blame SNK for that, Tekken 7 had Geese and his Rising/Raging Storm was the original command (the infamous pretzel) while KOFXIV had 2141236 instead (Kyo's Orochinagi for reference), as a way to simplify inputs.
I think it's weird that you had that idea, because these moveset decisions are always arbitrary and creative. That must be little experience with SNK fgs and SNK history in general. There's been a lot of cases of contradictory visions from different dev teams over the same character. There's no set rule to take. Mainly because the old FF and KOF devs had a much higher creative energy than SF devs, so overall they liked to make many more moveset changes in the sequels than the SF devs (a direction that only started changing in SF5-6).
The result is that there is usually a lot more to think about and choosing arbitrarily, when building a moveset of a SNK char in a sequel (compared to most of SF before 6). Easy example: CvS2 Terry has a charge RT, and while the move was always charge in FF, it was srk in KOF 96-98, then it became charge again since 99 onwards. Also CvS2 Terry doesn't have a Power Charge, that is a staple move since FF3 and introduced in KOF in the 90s. And it also lacks other specials made in the Real Bout era. Also CvS2 Terry normals are more similar to KOF and FF2, but miss many changes made in the Real Bout era of FF. (And Terry is not even a SNK char that changed a lot over the years)
Excited for terry, just wish buster wolf was level 2 (since its famously his fireball callout super and lvl 1s in sf6 are never fireball invincible) amd his level 3 looked a little weird, but I loved the way that they brought in the lane system
the RUNNING WILD outfit makes the default look so wack. swear to gob throw that bum shit and rising tacku in the trash and give him something different. other than that he is looking so dope. the extra cash out options on the level 2 look sick x __ x
