If the artist doesn’t renew their license, this song will go away entirely. Even if you purchased it from the iTunes Store.

If you’ve purchased it already, you still get to hold onto the file. It does get delisted from the store, though.

Yeah that's the problem these days a lot of the times you'll click on something that says buy but it doesn't actually mean by... It's just a license to use indefinitely until they decide to change their mind or go out of business or whatever. It's desperately needs to end up in front of a court. There was an effort at a lawsuit but it was dismissed because the victim had not yet had anything canceled or removed from their library. But now that Ubisoft ,sony, Crunchyroll, Nintendo are starting to pull digital games that people paid for permanently. It's likely going to end up before a court. Although I'm sure the European courts will be better about it than the US courts

I’m currently changing from using Spotify to an iPod (and owning my own music). It’s incredible when I find on iTunes songs that WISHED I could stream, and now I own them. Also, the price increase in streaming services is just absurd, it makes sense using a student discount (I’m still using mine), but when that’s over, you can buy like 10 songs a month for the base fee of this services.

Did they give you a 3 or 4 month trial usually if any new customer can get a free 3 or 4-month trial of Apple TV and Apple music. Even if you don't buy an iPhone. If it's your first time, just getting those two.

Ask yourself would you buy a CD each month if streaming didn’t exist? If not it’s cheaper to just buy the songs and albums you like.

Exactly, and it was for me. Besides, being able to put the music I want on the devices I want is a huge perk of actually owning them.

I’m not canceling my Apple Music subscription bc of how I can see how many songs I have downloaded on my iPhone 14 PM and also control the EQ and what not.

Hi Matt, great insight, I had this odd Apple service (iTunes) deduction, and I thought what is this, so here I am, thanks, cancelling my Apple Music subscription. Re the points you raised, the underlying value is independence, because as sure as hell the tech will change within those 5.86yrs. What’s great though is I just found a use for my 30GB iPod 😊 charged up and look at that - an album I thought I had lost 😃
