I have always studied from your lectures ma'am ❤️ I'm now in 5th semester I wasn't really able to find most lectures related to my syllabus. I hope to get further updates in your next videos. Thank you for your great contribution ma'am ❤️ My college life would be totally incomplete without your lectures.
this is not my first time watching your videos but among others this one is the best, i mean i individually fell in love with emily by her one poem and u are the one who made it possible .. i could understand something she said she expressed and i feel really really how do i say bless. Thank you so much ma'am. Without your explanatory videos I don't think I would have been able to see the depths of all these poetries. I have a request to put. Can you give up some time to explain something from Literary Criticism and Theory ? 🙂
I personally am a very huge admirer of Emily. I get my writing inspirations from her, so when we got this poem of her in this sem.. I was eagerly excited for our professor to read it to us. But what was disappointing to me most, that he kept on addressing the lover as A Man when throughout the poem the gender was never mentioned.. While talking about her love life, or even her life he never once mentioned Susan's name.. He completely ignored the existence of Her and all those letters. It was really disappointing. Today for the first time Your lecture provided me with Satisfaction in every corner of my soul. Now I feel confident in writing my interpretation which is exactly what you described of this poem in Exam.. Again Thank you.❤
A lot of students are very helpful by your videos .The explanation is very understandable. Mam please explain the another poem of cc12 Peace by Rupert Brooke
Sir plz answer these questions (2 marks) for internal exam from Dickinson within today 1."The carriage held but just ourselves" - who are'ourselves' referred to here?where was the carriage heading towards? 2.Who is a Sexton ? and what role does he play in the poem "I cannot live with you"? 3."I couldn't die - with you" - who is the speaker and why does he/she refuse to die with the person spoken to ? 4.Mention one gentleman like behaviour of Death from "Because I could not stop for Death"?
Ma'am, outstanding lecture.really helpful for me.. thank you so much...i found problem in understanding the implication of the word 'prayer. Will you describe the word prayer in the last stanza?
Like a Cup - Discarded of the Housewife - Quaint - or Broke - A newer Sevres pleases - Old Ones crack - In those lines I don't know why the concept of woman chastity as per contemporary Christian faith hits my mind. In my sense, if one woman who is represented as the cup comes out from the shelf which may be the patriarchal barrier then she will lose her virginity by disobeying the patriarchal God what we see in Tennyson's 'The Lady of Shalott' poem in the mirror cracking portion and here it may be depicted with the crack of cup. Could this be a possible way to interpret it?
Ma'am in the poem it's written discarded of the housewife..then how could it be dedicated to Sussain?... I'm extremely confused that while answering the paper what should we write as to whom did she dedicated it? It would be a great help if you reply to this.
Don't you think that the last stanza can be a sign of Sexuality. May be I'm interpreting more but I think that white sustenance has a sexual angle with her and Susan . And their body is metaphorically used with oceans.
Ma'am, while writing the answers of this poem, should we write the character as "Speaker" and then, at last, we say that it may refer to the relationship of Dickinson with Susan or, should we write the entire poem dedicating to Dickinson's unknown lover and mention Susan finally?
Darn it! Why on God's green earth do I feel like I'm going to have the life she had?! Somehow I find this poem a little too relatable. I'm not in love with anyone or anything like that but still...wth! Anyways, maybe it's not too bad afterall? As that song by Passenger puts it, "Only know you love her when you let her go/And you let her go".
When someone's husband or wife dies, it is a privilege (a social right) for that person to perform the last rites. Although it is a sad occasion but it offers the spouse who is alive, a consolation and a sense of belonging. But the poet is saying that since their love is not socially sanctioned , she will not be allowed to perform the last rites of her beloved
Ma'am I wanted to ask while writing answers from poems should we use past tense or present? Most of our professors advice us to write every answer using present simple tense be it any novel, drama or poetry.
It is possible that "I" here in this poem is the boy and "you" the girl 😅👀?? Not gender specified right?? Both can be girls too Both can be boys too Just a thought came just one day before the exam 😂
