I Changed My Chickens Feed to Tractor Supply - What Happened?

Earlier this year everyone was talking about Tractor Supply Chicken Feed and how they were putting things in the product to keep chickens from laying. Frankly, I don't buy it. So I switched my feed for 2 months to see what would happen.

I have had zero issues with anything that I have bought from TSC over the past couple of years. Why just a couple of years? Because that's about when a new TSC stored opened within a couple miles of my home and I like shopping at that clean and tidy store. I have found it to be a gardener's paradise as compared to HD or Lowes. Plus it is several miles closer to my home to boot.

Yup! But all because one store decided to donate to a Pride event or something the crazies among us have to revile them. Gotta always be chasing the next thing to be scared of or their audience will call them "woke" and lose interest.

Mine were the same way and I haven't switched my feed either and boy are my chickens laying like crazy! So yeah, those influencers just had something against tractor supply.

They definitely did. If you go back and watch some of the videos that they made in the fall, it's clear they have a vendetta.

Glad you did the experiment. Whenever I would see those notifications I ignored them, did not press play, swiped left. That whole thing was ridiculous and a big waste of time, really.They still got their views, though😂😂😂

Yeah, I got some views on my first video but as it was anti-conspiracy video didn't get the same signal boost. 🤣 Some accused me of being paid off by TSC and the government. Dude I barely made enough from those videos to cover the cost of gas to get too and from the store, let alone the extra money I spent on the feed 🤣

They do indeed! I prefer to use common sense but to each their own? I just noticed that no one is talking about it anymore and TSC still sells tons of feed. 😂😜

"It's other variables" is exactly right (in my opinion.) I never jumped on the fear mongering bandwagon and my chickens did great. I will stick with it because it's the closest and economically, I'd have to drive much farther to get a different brand. I love this more thoughtful/factual look at the other possible variables.

Smart, common sense way of thinking there Dawn! Honestly if the economics of it panned out I would keep using it. I won't buy the Dumor scratch ever again though. It was just not as advertised. I love the scratch mix I get from my local Agway!

My chickens always stop for a couple of months every winter. It's normal. I have, however, started making my own feed, mainly because I just want to.

I plan to grow red amaranth and black oil sunflower for them next year. I also give them dandelion leaves as a treat etc

In my opinion Dumor from TSC isn't nutritious enough I don't know about Producers pride

I definitely was less than impressed with the Dumor scratch grains. It was supposed to have 6 things in it but it was like a painful of peas and corn, a ton of milo and a bunch of dust. Totally not what was pictured on the bag. The label on the Producers Pride is comparable to the Nutrena I got last week too
